...and if there is any technical difficulty, or error...or "the system screwed up" ...tough shit.

My suggestion is . In person is mandatory. If something unavoidable happens and you are not there in person, your team will be on auto-draft (instant pick). If you are the person remote. You just need to make sure your queue is set properly, before your pick.

Chris, we WILL resolve this before next year's draft.

Having an owner draft remotely due to a business trip is hardly unprecedented. Having 25% of the teams not represented on Draft Night is. It definitely slowed down the drafting to the point where everyone became impatient. We should resolve this before next year’s draft.

Well, you certainly never waited for us (MFFGA). For me, I was in Germany, so I was awake and drafting in the very wee hours of the morning begging for it to be over so I could go to bed just to wake up two hours later. I completely understand if this needs to be an in-person only league. You guys have all played together for decades and it's just four years for me. I just can't commit to an onsite draft as I'm generally gone that time of year. But if it's onsite only, no problem, completely understandable.

I’ll reiterate what our esteemed commissioner said. The 1 and 2 pickers in the draft were remote, so we routinely went 4 consecutive picks waiting on remote picks. Then it happened again at #7. The draft gets defocused and disorganized, slowing everything down. We cannot have a repeat of this happen again next season.

Go back to the sticker system with a person we all chip in to pay to take care of the stickers and keep the draft moving.  The way we do it now sometimes the team that is one the clock doesn't even know they are on the clock....how do I know that because we did it a couple of times.  If you have somebody there to gently nudge the owners it will go faster.  The only time we did this above we were done by midnight.  And we had more teams and drafted more rounds.  Each team chips in $20 and walla a quick fun draft.

And start the draft at 7pm instead of 8pm, it Greg and Scott are ok with it.

Three teams didn't show up for draft night un 2024: MFFGA, Tijuana Bible, and 3rd Rock. Draft night in 2025 is September 3rd. Write in on your calendar, and tell your other leagues that this date is in stone. Have at least one representative at Teske's for the draft. Great food, great beer, fantasy draft, taking Jäegermeister shots and ribbing Howard all night, what could be more fun?

“Key here is don’t drink too much.”

Dude, have you attended Draft Night? We make that resolution every single year and a .300 average is still regarded as a respectable benchmark.

I don't think we should deploy rules to protect the weak...
