Just a reminder for everyone that you have one week from today to get your rosters in shape.  Line-ups need to be in compliance BY Monday, August 19 at midnight (which is technically then August 20).  Mike will be sitting up checking rosters at midnight and then calling you on the phone.  Don't be sleeping.  Any questions about rosters, including taxi squads,  see the previously posted message on this or let us know.

Thanks

Gary

Good day everyone. The end of July is here and it's time to start getting ready for some football!!!  It's also almost that time to start checking your line-ups.  Let's go over a few things.

1)  The cut down deadline is Monday August 19th at midnight. That gives us two preseason games to do whatever it is you think you need to do.  If you are waiting to watch the Monday night game, cut down before you go to bed.  This means six active players, one or two 2nd year players that will become active on draft day, and up to two rookies that you are protecting a second year.  Once a player has been activated from rookie squad, you CAN NOT put them back on it to protect them as rookies!

2)  Roster limits are changed for this year.  We voted and the result is you will now be allowed to carry 14 players BUT will not be allowed to pick up a bye week kicker or defense.  You need to plan ahead for those weeks and make a spot.  When you make waiver claims, the system will require you to cut a player to make room.  This will prevent people from claiming more players than they actually want, preventing others from claiming them.  And, it will also keep me from having to bug people about making their cuts.

3) Just a reminder about your rosters:  If you go to your Team Capsule, you will see your active players and your taxi squad players.  The active needs to be down to 6.  The taxi squad  can only be 1-2 players going into their third year that you are pulling up on your active squad on draft day, and 1-2 rookies going into their second year.  It will be easy to check now since their should be no more than 4 players on your taxi squad. Any more than that, you need to cut them or pull them up to your active squad and count them as part of your six.

4) The new divisions have been done and the schedule is good to go.

5) Draft order was posted last season so check out the archive to see the details, but here it is in a nutshell:  Plan B (rounds 1-8) order:  Nate, Bryce, Mike, Gary, Ryan, Trevor, Blake, Brady, Ben, Jerry.  Rookie order (rounds 9-13) is the same as Plan B with the exception of the first 4 picks of round 9 which are: Mike, Nate, Gary, Bryce.  (This does not include trades you may have made so you may or may not have the pick, but this is the order).

5)  With the NFL schedule being 18 weeks again, (probably the new norm) we will have our league weeks 1-13 again, 14 - maybe all-star/pro-bowl game again, or another idea I have and will share at a later date, and playoffs weeks 15-17.

6)  Speaking of the All-Star game, that leads us to the pay.  Once again it is $125 entry fee and $9.00 for league fee and trophy plaque.  Based on last year's All-Star/Pro Bowl, the following  people will be paying $18.00 instead of $9.00 to cover for the loss of said game:  Trevor, Gary, Mike Blake, Nate.   So, winning division pays $125, losing division pays $143.00. (Trevor, Gary, Mike, Blake, Nate)

Some people had carry-over money to pay dues:  Trevor $100, Jerry $125, Ryan $50, Brady $100.

7) Lastly, draft day!!!!!!  As of now, best day looks like Tuesday September 3rd at 7:00 pm central time.  That was the day that almost all were available.  Regular season starts on Thursday, 9/5 (Chiefs vs. Ravens).  That means you will have just under two days after the draft to get your line-ups set.

Well, I think I have covered everything.

Time to start planning for the draft night.  Here is a link to a Google form to help us narrow down a day.  I have also emailed the link to you using the email address you have listed on here.  Don't complain about the draft night if you don't take the time to help us narrow down a day that works for people.

Questions, let me know. Gary

Good day to all again.  New divisions were drawn last night and the divisions are now set. (Not sure I am liking it but oh well.  I guess the Toilet Bowl is in my future)  Schedules are also set for our 13 week season.  Check it out if you want.  More info on draft night, draft rounds, and cut down information to follow.  Any questions, reach out to me or Mike...especially Blake and Bryce if you have questions on what you can protect with your active roster and rookie/taxi squad.

Just a reminder:  We changed the rule starting this year that you will have a hard 14 player roster and will NOT be able to pick up a bye week kicker or defense.  You will need to plan ahead and prepare to make room for one when you need it.

Welcome back everyone!  As we inch closer to the beginning of another season, couple thing to go over:  The divisions will be drawn soon and posted online.  I will send out another google survey sometime in the next couple weeks to pick a draft night. Cut down date will be sometime mid to late August. More information to follow at a later date on determining a draft night and all the other information you may need before the cut-down date.  Any questions, let me know.  Get ready for some football!
