2024 RTSports Outlook

Levis went later than most thought in the draft, falling to the Titans in the second round. Tennessee hopes to have found their future starter, though. Levis might open up this year as the No. 3 but could move up quickly. Levis certainly looks the part of a top NFL quarterback. Levis has great size for the position. He is very athletic and has a top arm. He can make all the throws in the pro game. He also isn't afraid to make plays with his legs. Levis has some accuracy issues, though, and turned the ball over too much in college. He is not a finished product by any means.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: This could be a learning year for Levis. He might get on the field a little but don't expect him to take over the starting job just yet. That might happen in a year or two after he gets up to speed in the pro game.

The Tennessee Titans selected Alabama offensive tackle JC Latham with the seventh overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft on Thursday night. The Titans were hoping that Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt, the consensus No. 1 offensive lineman in this class, would fall to them at No. 7, but that didn't happen -- he went to the Los Angeles Chargers at No. 5. Latham is a solid fallback option, though, and should immediately boost the protection for young quarterback Will Levis in Tennessee. The 21-year-old is a mauler at right tackle and short start immediately in his rookie season in the NFL in 2024. He weighed in at 342 pounds, so he's a mountain of a man with long arms and huge hands. This pick is great news for Levis and running backs Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears.

Dynasty | Titans quarterback Will Levis could be positioned for more success this season. Dynasty Analysis: This story is kind of from the land of the obvious but Levis really should be in a better spot going into next season. With Calvin Ridley and DeAndre Hopkins at receiver and Tony Pollard being signed to replace Derrick Henry, the Titans didn't exactly punt on helping him over the last month. Levis was electric in his first game action but turned into a glorified game manager the rest of the way. He's on the hot seat this year in Tennessee, though it would be a surprise to see them take a successor in the draft this year. Levis remains a hold in dynasty leagues.

The Athletic's Bruce Feldman has the Tennessee Titans (at No. 7 overall) stopping the position-player run early in the first round of this year's NFL draft by selecting Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt. That will especially be the case if the Titans think quarterback Will Levis has a legitimate chance to be the long-term QB. Alt is the best offensive-line prospect in this year's class and would give Tennessee a strong foundation up front after they took Peter Skoronski in 2023. The 21-year-old Alt impressed at the scouting combine and won't turn 22 until after his rookie year. "I like him a lot. He's as good as I've coached against in a long time. He's athletic. He's big. He's strong. He moves his feet real well. He's never in a bad position and he's never on the ground. Some of these guys, you can get them moving. This dude always had his pads square and played with low pad level," one coach said.

The Athletic's Joe Rexrode highlights the offensive line as the Tennessee Titans' biggest 2024 offseason need, specifically at left tackle, which has been a disaster zone the last two years after Taylor Lewan hung up his cleats. The Titans also could really use a new right tackle and center as well, and they need to hope that left guard Peter Skoronski, last year's first-round pick, starts living up to his draft billing in 2024. The tackle positions will most likely be more of a priority through the draft than free agency. It should help Tennessee's cause that new offensive line coach Bill Callahan will be coaching the position group moving forward. But if the Titans don't improve on the edges, young quarterback Will Levis could be in trouble.

According to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe, the Tennessee Titans still believe in quarterback Will Levis as their starter, and one of their top priorities this offseason is getting him receivers. It remains to be seen if general manager Ran Carthon drafts one of the top three wideouts -- Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, or Rome Odunze -- at No. 7 overall in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. The Titans could also use an NFL-high $75 million-plus in salary cap space to go after a top veteran in free agency. They could also do both to help support Levis. The 24-year-old had an up-and-down first year in the NFL in 2023 with 1,808 passing yards, eight TDs and four picks in nine starts, but now he has an offensive-minded head coach in Brian Callahan and should get some shiny new receiving weapons to boost his fantasy upside this offseason.

Former Las Vegas Raiders interim offensive coordinator Bo Hardegree is expected to be hired as the new Tennessee Titans' quarterbacks coach under new head coach Brian Callahan, according to sources. After Hardegree became the Raiders' interim offensive coordinator in Week 9 last year, the team averaged 23 points per game, ranking inside the top half of the league. It was an impressive feat for Hardegree while working with fourth-round rookie QB Aidan O'Connell. He'll now be tasked with developing Will Levis as he heads into his second season in the NFL under an entire new coaching staff. Hardegree began his NFL coaching career in 2014 as an offensive quality control coach with the Denver Broncos and has also worked with the Bears, Dolphins, Jets and Patriots.

The Tennessee Titans are hiring Jacksonville Jaguars passing-game coordinator Nick Holz as their new offensive coordinator under head coach Brian Callahan on Friday, according to sources. Prior to joining the Jaguars, Holz was the offensive coordinator at UNLV and was on the Las Vegas Raiders' coaching staff before that as an offensive assistant, a stint that included coaching Maurice Jones-Drew, his high school teammate at De La Salle High School in California. Callahan was also on that high school team. Holz's first college coaching job came in 2007 when Nebraska head coach Bill Callahan, Brian's father, hired him as a video intern and offensive assistant. Holz then went on to become an offensive and operations assistant with Stanford, working with Andrew Luck. He will now look to help improve second-year QB Will Levis in Tennessee, although Callahan will be calling the plays.

The Tennessee Titans fired head coach Mike Vrabel on Tuesday, according to sources. Vrabel led the Titans to four straight winning seasons after he was hired in 2018, but the Titans have decided to move on after experiencing back-to-back frustrating seasons the last two years and finishing multiple games under .500 both times. Tennessee started the 2023 season 2-4 before their bye and were never a factor in the AFC playoff race while pivoting from veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill to rookie Will Levis in the middle of the season. The Titans are at a crossroads this offseason. Vrabel is gone and both Tannehill and running back Derrick Henry are unlikely to return as they enter free agency. Vrabel's best season was in 2021, when the team went 12-5 and was the top seed in the AFC. Vrabel won NFL Coach of the Year, but the Titans were eliminated in their playoff opener that year.

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis (foot) is officially inactive for the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Levis missed Week 16 due to a sprained ankle but returned in last week's loss to the Houston Texans and injured his foot early in the contest. Even if Levis was able to play this weekend, the Titans decided earlier this week that veteran Ryan Tannehill would make the start under center at home in what is expected to be his final game with the organization. With the 24-year-old Levis out, Malik Willis will serve as Tannehill's backup to close out the year. Levis did enough in his rookie season to at least put himself in the competition to start in 2024, throwing for 1,808 yards on 255 pass attempts with eight touchdowns and four interceptions, but at best, he'll be a QB2 target in fantasy leagues this fall.

Jan 5 4:50pm ET

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis (foot) remained limited during Friday's practice. He is officially questionable to play in Week 18, though head coach Mike Vrabel already announced that Ryan Tannehill will draw the start in what could be his final game as a Titan. If active, Levis will be the backup, keeping him off the fantasy football radar. Assuming he doesn't take a snap on Sunday, Levis will finish his rookie campaign having completed 58.4 percent of his passes for 1,808 yards, eight passing touchdowns, one rushing touchdown, and four interceptions.

From RotoBaller

Jan 4 8:10pm ET

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis (foot) was limited in Thursday's practice after being listed as a non-participant on Wednesday. Levis missed the Week 16 game with an ankle sprain, only to return in last week's loss to the Houston Texans while injuring his right foot early in the game. It's not an overly serious foot injury, so the 24-year-old is trying to get through it in practice this week in order to play in one more game in his rookie campaign. If the Titans play it safe and hold him out, veteran Ryan Tannehill will get the start in what is expected to be his final game in a Titans uniform. Neither QB will be particularly attractive from a DFS perspective if they play in Week 18 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Levis has shown more upside but has also been incredibly inconsistent with 1,808 passing yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions in his nine starts.

Jan 3 10:10pm ET

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis (ankle, foot) did not practice with the team on Wednesday. Levis returned in last week's loss to the Houston Texans after a one-game absence due to an ankle sprain, but he attempted just six passes in Week 17 before injuring his right foot and never returning. It's an annoying but not serious foot injury for Levis, but with the Titans already out of playoff contention, they could choose to play it safe and sit the rookie. If Levis isn't cleared to play, veteran Ryan Tannehill would make another start in what is expected to be his last game with the Titans. Whoever starts under center for Tennessee to close out the regular season will be an uninspiring QB2 choice for fantasy managers still playing for something in deep superflex leagues.

From RotoBaller

Jan 2 8:00pm ET

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel said he doesn't know whether rookie quarterback Will Levis (foot) will be able to practice on Wednesday. Levis tweaked his ankle in Week 15 and didn't play in Week 16, but he returned in last Sunday's loss to the Houston Texans only to make an early exit due to a foot ailment. The 24-year-old is improving, but if he isn't ready for the Week 18 game on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, veteran Ryan Tannehill would make another start under center. If the second-rounder from Kentucky does return to practice this week and play this weekend, he'll be a low-end QB2 option for fantasy managers still playing for something in superflex leagues. Levis has shown some glimpses of excellence in his first NFL season, but mostly he's been inconsistent in nine starts, completing 58.4% of his passes for 1,808 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions.

Dec 31 3:00pm ET

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis (foot) has been downgraded to out for the remainder of Week 17 versus the Houston Texans. He had initially been listed as questionable. The rookie signal-caller finishes Sunday's game having completed just two of six passes for 16 yards while also taking one sack and losing a fumble. It has been an injury-riddled year for Tennessee's quarterback room, which has seen Levis, Ryan Tannehill, and Malik Willis all attempt passes this year. Tannehill will take over as the Titans' quarterback for the rest of this week.

Dec 31 2:00pm ET

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis (foot) is questionable to return to Sunday's Week 17 game against the Houston Texans. Levis was injured on a strip sack, which led to a Texans defensive touchdown during the second quarter, and was slow to get up. He went to the blue medical tent and eventually went to the locker room. Ryan Tannehill is currently in the game for the Titans. The team should provide another update on their rookie quarterback at halftime.

Dec 29 9:40pm ET

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis (ankle) was able to get through another full practice session on Friday. This is great news as it appears the rookie quarterback is in line to start against the Houston Texans in Week 17. Levis sat out last week's game due to a nagging ankle issue, but that appears to be behind him. The Titans will be glad to have Levis back, but his fantasy outlook isn't too great for this week. Levis has looked sluggish lately and shouldn't be considered anything more than a low-end QB2 for this upcoming matchup.

From RotoBaller

Dec 29 2:20pm ET

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis (ankle) is expected to start for the team in Week 17's contest versus the Texans on the road in Houston on Sunday. The writing was on the wall for this to be the case when Levis returned to a full practice on Wednesday after missing the Week 16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The 24-year-old reportedly was moving around well in practice earlier this week, but he's also still dealing with some pain, so fantasy managers should expect some of his mobility to be limited when he takes on the Texans and their underrated defense this weekend. Levis has shown glimpses of being a solid franchise QB for the Titans in his first NFL season, but he's been far too inconsistent with limited receiving weapons to be trusted by fantasy managers as anything more than a low-end QB2. Veteran Ryan Tannehill will head back to the bench in Week 17.

From RotoBaller

Dec 28 10:00pm ET

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis (ankle) was able to get through another full practice session on Thursday. The rookie quarterback is working his way back from an ankle injury that held him out of their last contest. The good news is that Levis has been able to get through two straight practices without any issues. Barring any setbacks, Levis should suit up for the Week 17 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. Fantasy managers should consider Levis a low-end QB2 for this game.

From RotoBaller

Dec 27 8:00pm ET

Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis (ankle) was a full participant in practice on Wednesday. Levis isn't pain-free after spraining his ankle in Week 15, but he's feeling much better and is on track to make another start in Week 17 versus the Houston Texans on Sunday. Veteran Ryan Tannehill threw for over 200 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions in the Week 16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but he's set to go back to holding a clipboard on the sidelines if Levis is cleared to play this weekend. Since making his NFL debut in Week 8, Levis has gone 147-for-249 for 1,792 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions in eight games started. He's shown flashes of being the team's franchise QB but needs to get more consistent. Levis will be a low-end QB2 option in superflex leagues against Houston if he plays on Sunday.

From RotoBaller

Dec 27 3:50pm ET

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel expects rookie quarterback Will Levis (ankle) to be able to practice on Wednesday. Levis suffered a right-ankle sprain in Week 15 and did not take part in the Week 16 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The 24-year-old first-year signal-caller is likely to be limited in practice on Wednesday, but it would be a good step toward a possible return this Sunday in a rematch against the division-rival Houston Texans on the road. And if Levis is cleared to play later this week, he's likely to take the starting gig back from veteran Ryan Tannehill. In his first start since Week 6, Tannehill went 18-for-26 for 152 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Levis will be a low-end QB2 option for fantasy managers if he returns in Week 17.
