Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold started out hot, but he cooled off after the first few drives. Darnold threw touchdowns on back-to-back drives to open the game, but didn't have a ton of success after that. He completed 18-of-25 passing attempts for 240 yards and two scores in the loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Darnold now has thrown for 1,610 yards with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions through seven games. He hasn't been lighting up the box score lately, but he doesn't make silly mistakes with the football. Fantasy managers should be able to keep riding him as a QB1 for next week's matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold completed 18 of 25 passes for 240 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday, Oct. 24. He also ran three times for six yards.
Fantasy Spin: Darnold started hot, throwing touchdown passes on Minnesota's first two possessions, but things bogged down after that with the Vikings scoring just six points over the final three quarters. The veteran took a couple of bad sacks late, including a safety that ended any hope of a late comeback (a missed facemask call notwithstanding), and he hasn't been nearly as sharp since the first half of the Week 4 game with the Packers. Darnold still offers QB2 value that can be plugged in for plus matchups.
From TheHuddle
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold has cooled off from his electric 11 touchdowns over the first four games. Since then, Darnold has one touchdown and two interceptions over his last two games. It's worth noting that Darnold did throw for nearly 260 yards during last week's loss to the Detroit Lions. He was consistent as he completed 22-of-27 passing attempts during the two-point loss. He'll get a Los Angeles Rams defense that has struggled to contain the pass. They currently rank 18th in the league, which is good news for Darnold. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect Darnold to throw four touchdowns, but he should be a viable option for Week 8.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold went 22-for-27 for 259 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Detroit Lions in Week 7. He also rushed for 39 yards on four carries during the game.
Fantasy Spin: Darnold has slowed down a bit after an outstanding start to the season but threw for at least 250 yards for the third time this season. He will be on a short week against the Los Angeles Rams and probably should only be an option in two-quarterback leagues.
From TheHuddle
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold threw for 259 yards, one touchdown, and one pick off 22-for-27 passing in Sunday's narrow loss to the Lions. He added four carries for 39 yards. The signal-caller was coming off a horrid performance in the Week 5 overseas loss to the New York Jets. While he played better on Sunday, it still wasn't enough, resulting in the Vikings first loss of the 2024-25 campaign. Minnesota won't have much time to sulk, as the team will meet the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night. Granted, Darnold was more productive earlier in the year. Still, he's worth starting in most fantasy setups.
From RotoBaller
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold had a rough showing in the Week 5 win over the New York Jets. However, the signal-caller has played better than expected in 2024-25, throwing for 1,111 yards, 11 touchdowns, and four interceptions. With Minnesota off in Week 6, the team will return, hoping to remain atop the NFC North by earning a victory over the Lions in Week 7. The Detroit defense has been reliable this season. Unfortunately, the Lions lost Aidan Hutchinson (leg) for the foreseeable future. While Darnold was already worth a start in any fantasy format, his ceiling is now higher without Hutchinson in the equation.
From RotoBaller
Dynasty | Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold completed just 14-of-31 passes for 179 yards with no touchdowns and an interception in the Vikings win against the Jets. Dynasty Analysis: Darnold did what he could after losing Aaron Jones to a hip injury, but this was by far his worst game of the season. Amazingly, Darnold still sits on top of the world after five weeks with 11 touchdowns and five interceptions on the season. While he may not be completely matchup proof, he'll remain a solid QB1 option moving forward.
Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold went 14-for-31 for 179 yards, zero touchdowns and one interception against the New York Jets in Week 5. He also rushed for 11 yards on five carries during the game.
Fantasy Spin: Darnold was held without a touchdown for the first time this season and did not have much success during the second half of the game. He may be involved in a high scoring game against the Detroit Lions next week and could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in some deeper leagues.
From TheHuddle
Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 4, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.
Fantasy Spin: Darnold should not have any limitations despite suffering the injury in the last game. He has played very well this season but may only be a possible starting option in two-quarterback leagues. Fantasy players looking for a bye week replacement could consider Darnold.
From TheHuddle
Minnesota Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 4, but has been ruled out for Week 5 versus the New York Jets. TE Josh Oliver (wrist), WR Brandon Powell (chest), QB Sam Darnold (knee), CB Akayleb Evans (illness) and LB Ivan Pace Jr. (ankle) practiced in full Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.
From TheHuddle
Minnesota Vikings TE Josh Oliver (wrist) and WR Brandon Powell (chest) were limited at practice on Thursday, Oct. 3. Also, QB Sam Darnold (knee), CB Akayleb Evans (illness) and LB Ivan Pace Jr. (ankle) practiced in full.
From TheHuddle
Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold (knee) practiced in full once again on Thursday, Oct. 3.
Fantasy Spin: Don't look now, but Darnold is QB4 overall after a great start to the season. Darnold is an every-week QB1 until further notice, a reality that was once unfathomable.
From TheHuddle
Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold (knee) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 2.
Fantasy Spin: Darnold continued his strong play last week and is averaging nearly three touchdowns a game to start the season. He is facing a good New York Jets defense this week but could be a possible bye week replacement for some fantasy players.
From TheHuddle
Vikings' QB Sam Darnold scored 25.25 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 4 win in Green Bay. Darnold threw for 275 yards on 20-of-28 with three touchdowns and one interception.
Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold went 20-for-28 for 275 yards, three touchdowns and one interception against the Green Bay Packers in Week 4. He also rushed for 15 yards on seven carries during the game.
Fantasy Spin: Darnold has thrown at least two touchdowns in every game this season and was able to connect with multiple targets in the passing game this week. He can be a possible low-end No. 1 quarterback in deeper leagues or a bye week replacement next week.
From TheHuddle
Dynasty | Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold completed 20-of-28 passes for 275 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in a win against the Packers. Dynasty Analysis: With 11 touchdowns, three interceptions, and 932 passing yards through four games this year, Darnold has been one of the biggest stories of the season in fantasy and reality. With JJ McCarthy out for the year, Darnold has taken his latest opportunity and proven he's capable of being a very good starting quarterback in the league. The Vikings are going to have decisions to make down the road, but Darnold is looking like a bona fide QB1 in dynasty leagues for the moment - just accept it.
Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold (knee) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 27, and is not on the injury report for Week 4.
Fantasy Spin: Darnold's Week 3 injury appears to be minor, and he should not have any limitations this week. He has been playing well so far this season and can be a starting option in two-quarterback leagues.
From TheHuddle
Minnesota Vikings LB Ivan Pace Jr. (ankle) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers. CB Stephon Gilmore (rest) and S Harrison Smith (rest) did not practice on Friday, Sept. 27, but are expected to play. C Garrett Bradbury (ankle), S Jay Ward (knee), WR Jordan Addison (ankle), DL Jonathan Bullard (knee), LB Dallas Turner (knee), LB Kamu Grugier-Hill (knee), TE Josh Oliver (wrist), QB Sam Darnold (knee) and OT Christian Darrisaw (illness) practiced in full on Friday and have been removed from the injury report.
From TheHuddle
Minnesota Vikings QB Sam Darnold (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 26.
Fantasy Spin: Darnold should not have any limitations this week against the Green Bay Packers despite injuring his knee in Week 3. He should be a starting option in all two-quarterback leagues and could be a low-end No. 1 quarterback in very deep leagues.
From TheHuddle
Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold (knee) participated fully in Wednesday's team practice. Darnold sustained a minor knee injury and missed just one play in the team's convincing 34-7 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday. Concerns arose when it was reported he was scheduled for an MRI on his injured knee, but imaging came back clean, and he'll be a full-go for the team's Week 4 road tilt against the Green Bay Packers. The 27-year-old currently garners the thirteenth-most passing yards in the NFL, though he leads the league in touchdown passes -- tossing eight through the team's first three contests. It's been an excellent start to the season for the former third-overall pick. He and the Vikings have been one of the more pleasant surprises thus far in 2024, and he has quickly thrust himself into weekly lineup consideration.
