2024 RTSports Outlook

Adams was a top-10 fantasy receiver once again, finishing 10th in scoring despite dealing with erratic quarterback play most of the season. Adams was 10th overall in receptions and 15th in receiving yards. He had seven games with double-digit targets. He had five games with 20-plus fantasy points. Adams has shown few signs of slowing down at this stage of his career. He has four straight season with 100-plus receptions. It should be more of the same for him this year as the top receiver in the Raiders offense. Adams is a big, athletic target that does a good job of making the tough catch. He also has good hands, getting over some drop issues from earlier in his career. Adams has good speed and runs top routes. He is the complete package at receiver. Fantasy Outlook: Adams isn't as exciting as some of the young, talented fantasy receivers these days but remains a pretty surefire No. 1. He just keeps getting it done and posting consistent numbers. If the Raiders get better quarterback play, his numbers could rise even more. Adams should be one of the first 10 receivers off the board come draft day. He should get around 100 receptions, 1,300 yards and 10 or so scores.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Davante Adams leads all wide receivers in targets (355/10.4 per game) since becoming a Raider in 2022. That includes his numbers during 2023 when Adams captured a league-high 33% target share, was second in targets per route run (31.5%), and red zone targets (30), and rose to third in air yards share (44.4%).Adams' ability to capitalize on his extensive targeting was impacted by substandard play from Las Vegas quarterbacks. Adams was 14th in points per game (15.6), the first time that he has finished outside the top six since 2017. His 6.5 yards per target and 11.1 yards per reception were both his lowest since 2015, while his averages in yards per route run (2.06), and yards per game (67.3), failed to match his averages during 2022 (2.74/89.2),It is unclear whether Gardner Minshew or Aidan O'Connell will emerge under center in Week 1. However, Adams will sustain his role as the Raiders' primary receiving weapon in an offense that has been restructured under offensive coordinator Luke Getsy. That should propel Adams to a percentage of first read and designated targets that approaches the league-high 40.6% that he attained during 2023 according to Fantasy Points Data. The combination of frequent targeting and Adams' continued ability to secure separation should propel him to WR2 production. That provides your incentive for targeting the six-time Pro Bowler in Round 2 of best-ball drafts. The 31-year-old Adams can also be selected in Round 4 of dynasty startup drafts.

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams is under contract through 2026 and said he plans to remain with the team, but the Raiders are going to have a decision to make next offseason. Adams' 2025 salary cap hit of $44.1 million is untenable and needs to be reworked via a contract restructure or extension to provide the team with cap relief. But if things take a turn for the worst between Adams and the Raiders in 2024, they would be able to free up $28.4 million in cap space by trading him next offseason. The 31-year-old pass-catcher still managed his fourth straight 1,000-yard season in 17 starts in 2023 despite the Raiders dumping both quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and head coach Josh McDaniels. However, last year also marked the first time since 2019 that Adams didn't score double-digit touchdowns. Adams is no longer a staple as a high-end WR1 in fantasy with the Raiders dealing with more question marks at QB between Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew.

Dynasty | Las Vegas wide receiver Davante Adams has recently indicated he wants to stay with the Raiders. Dynasty Analysis: Adams is coming off a decent 103-1,144-8 season but also one that saw his production come in peaks and valleys. As the article indicates, Adams is basically saying he'd already be gone if he wanted to be. The Jets have reportedly made some overtures but those were quickly extinguished. At this point, it would be a surprise to see Adams anywhere other than Vegas next season. However, finding a decent quarterback to keep his stats where they should be is another challenge altogether. Adams has dropped to our WR26 but is still a solid trade target for a contending team.

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, while speaking at his youth football camp, made it known he plans to remain with the team. Things were chaotic for Las Vegas last season, with Adams expressing his unhappiness with his role in the offense. Not only that, the franchise fired head coach Josh McDaniels in October, resulting in Antonio Pierce taking over. But now that Pierce no longer has an interim tag attached to his name; there's optimism things will go much more smoothly this season. The 31-year-old is coming off a rough season, amassing 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns off 103 catches. Yet, it appears Adams is the happiest he's been in a while, meaning he could easily turn things around during the 2024-25 campaign and return to being an elite fantasy wideout, assuming the team gets stable play at the quarterback spot.

Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams is highly unlikely to be traded this season based on comments from new general manager Tom Telesco on Tuesday, Feb. 27.

Fantasy Spin: Adams is coming off his fourth consecutive 100-catch season despite playing most of his snaps with Jimmy Garoppolo and Aidan O'Connell. There is a distinct possibility Las Vegas will be able to upgrade that position this offseason, which should only lock Adams in as a top-10 fantasy receiver yet again. Assuming Adams gets the quarterback upgrade, he should be able to improve on last year's 103-1,144-8 line.

Feb 27 2:20pm ET

New Las Vegas Raiders general manager Tom Telesco emphasized on Tuesday that wide receiver Davante Adams isn't going anywhere despite trade rumors. "He's a Raider," Telesco said. Adams is guaranteed a full $16.89 million base salary in 2024 and has three years left on his current deal. Adams broke a streak of six straight Pro Bowl appearances in 2023, although he still managed to catch over 100 passes (103) for the fourth straight year while gaining 1,144 yards and eight touchdowns in 17 games. The 31-year-old could become more inconsistent as the Raiders look for an upgrade at quarterback through the draft, but it's hard to debate his WR1 worth in fantasy after posting four straight 1,000-yard seasons while finding the end zone 51 times since 2020.

Dynasty | The Jets and Aaron Rodgers are reportedly interested in acquiring Davante Adams. Dynasty Analysis: Unfortunately for New York, the Raiders are reportedly not interested in trading Adams to the Jets or anywhere else this off-season. It was a weird season for Adams, who posted a 103/1,144/8 line but struggled to do much of anything during a long stretch of the season. Adams will need to have a better quarterback situation next year to really be relied upon as an elite option again. At this point, his dynasty value arrow is pointing down and no change of scenery isn't going to help if the Raiders stand firm.

Feb 11 5:03pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams will not be made available in a trade this offseason, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Spin: Adams has posted at least 1,000 yards in each of the last four seasons and has expressed his happiness with the team's hiring of offensive coordinator Luke Getsy. He will be a focal point in the passing game no matter who the quarterback will be and should be a weekly starting option in all leagues next season.

The NFL informed Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams that he won't be disciplined for shoving a photographer after a 2022 game against the Kansas City Chiefs, according to sources. Prosecutors dismissed a misdemeanor assault charge against Adams last summer, but the league's probe into the matter remained opened until now. Fantasy managers considering taking the 31-year-old All-Pro wideout in drafts this fall will not have to worry about him opening up the 2024 with a suspension. Adams remains one of the best pass-catchers in the game and has four straight 1,000-yard seasons and four straight 100-catch seasons, but 2023 was also the first season without recording double-digit touchdowns since 2019.

Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams said he is happy that the team hired offensive coordinator Luke Getsy because he worked with Getsy when both were with the Green Bay Packers.

Fantasy Spin: Adams is coming off a productive 2023 season and will continue to be the main option in the passing game next season. He likely will be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues next season.

Las Vegas Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce has emerged as the leading candidate to become the team's full-time head coach with the support of key players there, according to league sources. There will be other options for Raiders owner Mark Davis to consider, but as one source said, "I would be blown away if Antonio weren't the pick." All-Pro pass-rusher Maxx Crosby reportedly is set to request a trade from the organization if the Raiders pass on keeping Pierce as their full-time head coach. Pierce took over for Josh McDaniels, who was fired midseason, and the team finished 5-4 under Pierce. In addition to Crosby, receiver Davante Adams has been vocal in his support of Pierce to stick around in the head-coaching position. Pierce played linebacker in the NFL from 2001-09, with his later years including a Super Bowl championship with the New York Giants.
