Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper turned in a disappointing Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, catching just two passes for 16 yards and dropping a long would-be touchdown near the Dallas five-yard line. He will look to bounce back in a much more favorable matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road in Week 2. The Jaguars secondary struggled in Week 1, allowing both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to post 100-yard games. While the Cleveland offense looked bad in Week 1, Cooper should find more room to operate this weekend, making him a high-end WR3.

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper ended up with two receptions for 16 yards despite a team-high nine targets in Week 1 against the Dallas Cowboys, the first game against his former team.

From TheHuddle

Sep 8 8:30pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper caught two of his nine targets for 16 yards in a 33-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. Cooper's nine targets led the team, but he could not do much with the looks as the Dallas secondary kept him wrapped up for most of the afternoon. It should have been a bigger game for Cooper, who dropped a would-be 36-yard touchdown pass around the Dallas five-yard line late in the fourth quarter. Cooper could bounce back as early as next week against a Jacksonville Jaguars secondary that just allowed both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to post 100-yard games in Week 1.

Sep 6 9:20pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper will head on the road to take on his old team in a Week 1 showdown against the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas represents a tough matchup for Cooper as they allowed just the 28th-most fantasy points per game to wide receivers in 2023. The Cowboys' secondary should be just as formidable in 2024 as they will get Trevon Diggs back after losing him to a season-ending injury early last season. Cooper has shown the ability to post week-winning performances during his career but the matchup leaves him as more of a low-end WR2 in fantasy for the season opener on Sunday.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (undisclosed) returned to training camp practice on Wednesday and fully participated on Thursday after only going through the walkthrough portion of practice on Tuesday. Head coach Kevin Stefanski said earlier in the week that the starters should expect to play in the preseason finale on Saturday against the Seattle Seahawks, but it's unclear if that also includes Cooper, who was pulled from practice early last Thursday due to undisclosed soreness. Cooper will have to contend with losing some targets to Jerry Jeudy in 2024, but he's still the Browns' clear WR1 and will be getting quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) back healthy. The 30-year-old veteran and five-time Pro Bowler had his seventh 1,000-yard season in 2023 and set a new career-high with 1,250 receiving yards. Cooper is being undervalued currently at his Yahoo ADP of 52.6.

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (undisclosed) is back practicing on Wednesday in training camp. Cooper left last Thursday's practice with soreness, but he's back on the field for the Browns on Wednesday after only participating in walkthroughs in Tuesday's session. The 30-year-old fantasy stalwart is back on track toward making an appearance in Saturday's preseason finale against the hosting Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field. After collecting the third-most yards per reception (17.4) among qualifiers at his position last year, Cooper is primed to act as quarterback Deshaun Watson's alpha target and a steady WR2 option for fantasy managers once again in 2024.

Aug 20 9:20pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (undisclosed) did not practice on Tuesday, per Zac Jackson of The Athletic. Despite not practicing, Cooper was present for the team's walkthrough in the middle of the practice session. Though Cooper did leave practice on Thursday during 11-on-11 drills, the specific reason or injury was not made known. Head coach Kevin Stefanski did note that Cooper was "sore." The unquestioned top wide receiver for the Browns entering 2024, the 30-year-old Cooper put up a career-high 1,250 receiving yards in his 2023 campaign. Cooper is a worthwhile pick as a low-end WR2/high-end WR3 in fantasy football drafts as a stable floor play with a dash of upside. Even with the team adding Jerry Jeudy in the offseason, Cooper is still the top dog in the pecking order for quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Tuesday, Aug. 20, but did participate in the walkthrough.

Aug 20 1:50pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper (undisclosed) will practice at training camp on Tuesday, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Cooper left the second day of joint practices against the Minnesota Vikings last Thursday with an undisclosed injury but is back now and should be able to suit up in the preseason finale this Saturday against the Seattle Seahawks. Injuries are always a concern with the 30-year-old veteran, but the five-time Pro Bowler put up a career-high 1,250 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 72 receptions (128 targets) in 2023, despite the fact that quarterback Deshaun Watson (shoulder) only played in six games. He has put up 1,000 yards in seven of his nine NFL seasons, and although a healthy Jerry Jeudy could take some targets away this year, Cooper is trending as a value pick on the WR2/3 borderline right now in fantasy drafts.

Aug 20 1:43pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (undisclosed) is expected to return to practice on Tuesday, Aug. 20, after dealing with soreness over the last week, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.

Fantasy Spin: Nothing to see here. Cooper has proven for some time he is a WR2 capable of performing like a WR1. That should remain the case in 2024.

From TheHuddle

Aug 15 6:43pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (undisclosed) left practice Thursday, Aug. 15, because of soreness, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper probably will rest for a few days but does not appear to be dealing with anything serious. He should be a big part of the passing game this season and can be a No. 3 receiver in most fantasy leagues.

The San Francisco 49ers were close to finalizing a deal recently which would have sent WR Brandon Aiyuk to the Cleveland Browns, in exchange for WR Amari Cooper and second- and fifth-round draft picks, according to multiple sources. However, Aiyuk did not want to accept terms on a multiyear contract extension from the Browns to complete the trade.

Fantasy Spin: Fantasy owners should continue to monitor this situation to find out where Aiyuk will play this season. When active, he should be viewed as a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues.

Jul 25 7:00pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper recently restructured his deal with the organization. The superstar wideout will now earn $20 million during the upcoming season. That is a $5 million raise for the 30-year-old who is worth the money after what he showed last season. Cooper totaled 72 receptions for a career-high 1,250 yards and five touchdowns with the Browns last season. Cooper hinted that he'd like to remain with the team following the 2024 season. It makes sense that Cooper would like to stay after two straight successful seasons with the organization. They've rewarded him with a pay raise, so the organization clearly views him as a valuable asset. Fantasy managers should consider Cooper as a reliable WR2 heading into next season.

Jul 23 3:30pm ET

The Cleveland Browns and star wide receiver Amari Cooper have agreed to a restructured one-year contract, guaranteeing his $20 million salary and adding an additional $5 million. Cooper will still be entering the final year of his deal with the Browns, but the important takeaway for fantasy managers is that he's reported to the team for the start of training camp on Tuesday after skipping out on mandatory minicamp. The 30-year-old veteran wideout earned his fifth Pro Bowl selection last season after recording a career-high 1,250 receiving yards with 72 catches (128 targets) and five touchdowns through 15 outings. As the clear-cut centerpiece of Cleveland's passing game, Cooper remains safe to draft in fantasy leagues as a WR2 this summer after finishing third at the position in yards per catch (17.4).

From RotoBaller

Jul 23 3:23pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper reported to the start of training camp after the team handed him a $5 million raise and guaranteed his original base salary of $20 million on Tuesday, July 23.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper has been a durable and strong WR2 fantasy asset virtually every season since joining the NFL in 2015. His production was a bit more inconsistent last season as Cleveland rotated through multiple quarterbacks, but managers witnessed the kind of upside he possesses when he burned the Houston Texans for 265 yards and two touchdowns in Week 16 last year. Assuming Deshaun Watson can stay healthy more often in 2024, Cooper should finish as a top 15 fantasy receiver.

From TheHuddle

Jul 12 5:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper led all qualified pass-catchers with 13.6 yards before the catch per reception in 2023, according to Pro Football Reference. His 979 yards before the catch for the season was good for fourth.

Fantasy Spin: Both marks were easily Cooper's best since at least 2018. Cooper is more than just a deep threat, but head coach Kevin Stefanski appears to prefer using him more on deeper routes than his previous coaches - such as Jon Gruden and Mike McCarthy - did. The 30-year-old enters this training camp with a contract issue, but he should be expected to serve as the Browns' clear top receiver for at least one more year, making him a solid fantasy WR2 in most leagues.

From TheHuddle

Jul 4 2:30pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper didn't take party in the team's offseason program or mandatory minicamp because he wants future guarantees from the Browns ahead of the final year of his current contract. Cooper thinks he has leverage because he's been great in his two seasons in Cleveland, and the rest of the receiving corps is unproven and inconsistent. He's likely looking for something like the $35 million in guarantees that Mike Evans got from the Buccaneers last spring ahead of his age-31 season. Another comparison could be the $50 million the Titans gave to Calvin Ridley, who is six months younger than Cooper. The Browns have the money to give Cooper a raise, but future years could be complicated. The 30-year-old will undoubtedly be the team's WR1 again, but the addition of Jerry Jeudy could lower his fantasy ceiling. Target him as a low-end WR2.

From RotoBaller

Jun 26 11:40pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper told a representative from Betr that he's "trying to get paid this year." The 30-year-old continues to skip mandatory minicamp and pay the corresponding fines in order to build leverage as he seeks an extension from the Browns. He's due to hit free agency next year, and while he can presumably cash in on such an opportunity, he remains interested in expediting the process and signing a new deal with Cleveland. Just months removed from a 72-catch, 1,250-yard campaign, Cooper finds himself ranking as a very reliable WR2 option in most fantasy leagues.

From RotoBaller

Jun 19 11:33am ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper and the team remain at odds over the length of a potential extension, according to sources. Cooper is seeking a contract extension of at least two years guaranteed. The Browns, however, are reluctant to offer Cooper beyond a one-year extension. They have have been willing to include some guaranteed money for the extra year.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper is seeking a new deal after a 72-1,250-5 campaign, which pegged him as the WR20 in PPR leagues. He just turned 30 but had the largest YPC of his career last year. He'll likely fall through the cracks in drafts and be an undervalued WR2 or WR3 if he can reproduce 2023.
