Dynasty | Bucs rookie running back Bucky Irving had 62 yards rushing, two catches, and 14 receiving yards in Tampa Bay's season-opening win against Washington. Dynasty Analysis: Rumors have been swirling about Irving eating into Rachaad White's workload this year and today's performance won't exactly throw cold water on that notion. Irving looked shifty and spry on the day and routinely made players miss throughout the contest. While White (15 carries) is going to remain option 1A, a few more performances like this could create a true timeshare in Tampa Bay. Irving is a solid rookie hold at the moment as he looks like a player who could pay quick dividends in dynasty leagues.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White was heavily involved in the offense during Sunday's Week 1 matchup against the Washington Commanders. The 25-year-old continued to be the workhorse back in this one. He rushed 15 times for 31 yards as White couldn't get anything going on the ground. Luckily, White was able to salvage his fantasy value with six receptions for 75 yards through the air. His struggles on the ground are a concern, but not too alarming considering how well he does as a receiver. White should continue being a significant part of this offense going forward. Fantasy managers in PPR formats should be able to plug White in as a RB2 for Week 2 against the Detroit Lions.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White is coming off a breakout campaign with the organization in 2023. He racked up 1,539 scrimmage yards as White has proven himself to be a reliable option in both the running and receiving game. The Bucs added Bucky Irving in the fourth-round of this year's draft. However, there's no one really challenging White as he's the clear cut lead back heading into the regular season. He'll kick off the season with a favorable matchup against the Washington Commanders. A defensive unit that got torched for 19 touchdowns to opposing running backs last season. White should once again be an important piece in this offense with little changes being made on the offensive side of the ball. Fantasy managers should feel comfortable plugging White in as their RB2 for Week 1.

When asked about his running back rotation Wednesday, Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles stated that Rachaad White would be given the first crack at touches in the backfield rotation. "I think it will be a game-by-game basis," said Bowles. "You normally go with the hot hand, but since nobody has played yet, obviously Rachaad [White] starts and then we'll kinda go from there and see how the other guys are used." It's an interesting statement by the Bucs' coach, as he may be hinting at more of a split in Tampa Bay's backfield than initially anticipated. White led all running backs in the NFL in snaps last season (861) and took on a workhorse role in his sophomore year. The third-year RB was one of the better pass-catching weapons out of the backfield in 2023 but did not exhibit nearly the same efficiency as a runner. While it's most likely just a head coach attempting to lessen a player's load, this is a situation to monitor, as White would lose value if backup Bucky Irving were to eat into his workload.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White got into some game action during Friday's preseason finale against the Miami Dolphins. White rushed four times for 16 yards and scored a touchdown in the win. He also hauled in his lone target for 17 yards through the air as he played all the first-team snaps during this game. The Bucs just wanted to shake off the rust a little bit before the regular season starts. White has little competition at his position and should be a workhorse back in Tampa Bay. He has proven to be an asset in both the receiving and rushing game. Fantasy managers should consider White a solid RB2 heading into the regular season.

Aug 23 2:20pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles has confirmed the team's starters will play in Friday's preseason finale against the visiting Miami Dolphins at Raymond James Stadium, so running back Rachaad White will take the field on Friday. Throughout the preseason, rookie fourth-rounder Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker took the majority of reps with White on the sideline. White was a workhorse for the Bucs in 2023, finishing the year with 1,539 scrimmage yards on 272 carries for 990 rushing yards, six rushing touchdowns, and 3.6 yards per attempt. In addition, he showcased his pass-catching ability out of the backfield with 549 receiving yards on 70 catches for an average of 8.6 yards per reception. The 25-year-old's inefficiency on the ground puts him in dead-zone fantasy territory among RBs this summer, but White is certainly a solid RB2 option to begin the year as Tampa Bay's lead back.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White proved himself to be a reliable dual-threat option last season. He rushed for 990 yards while hauling in 70 receptions for 549 receiving yards in what was a successful year for the young back. It sounds like White could see different run packages under new offensive coordinator Liam Coen. It's a new system that will feature a variety of packages such as mid-zone, wide-zone, tight-zone, duo and gap runs. This new scheme could help White find more open lanes to run, which was something that was problematic last season. The Bucs did add rookie back Bucky Irving, but his presence shouldn't hinder the fantasy value of White.

Jul 9 4:20pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White posted 990 rushing yards last season, the highest rushing total for a Buccaneer since Doug Martin in 2015 (1,402). Heading into Year 3, White aims to go "well above" the 1,000-yard mark on the ground. "Obviously, my goal is to do whatever I can to help the team win," White said. "We've been last, or 25th to last the past five or six years when it comes to rushing, Tampa Bay has been down bad. My goal, and what I expect me to do, is turn that around." The Buccaneers lost offensive coordinator Dave Canales this offseason, so it will be interesting to see the offensive identity under Liam Cohen. The team selected fourth-round rookie Bucky Irving in the 2024 NFL Draft, but White should remain the clear RB1 and could continue to receive a healthy opportunity share. If he keeps a workhorse role, another top-10 fantasy football season is well within reach.

May 6 4:40pm ET

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White saw 75.3% of the team's running back carries and targets in 2023, but running back coach Skip Peete said there will be more competition for touches this season. Tampa Bay selected Oregon running back Bucky Irving in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, while Chase Edmonds and 2023 undrafted free agent Sean Tucker remain on the roster. Ultimately, none of the running backs behind White are expensive investments for the organization, and it's always tricky to know whether a coach is being transparent or just trying to motivate the players in his position room. White was the RB4 overall (PPR) last season behind 990 rushing yards, 549 receiving yards, and nine total touchdowns. Although he could see his rushing volume take a hit, his receiving skill set that he's flashed since his collegiate career at Arizona State should keep him on the field for high-yield fantasy situations.
