2024 RTSports Outlook

Achane had a great rookie season despite missing six games because of injury. He also split work with Raheem Mostert, but that didn't slow his production. Achane had 997 total yards and 11 touchdowns, finishing 24th overall in fantasy running back scoring. He had four 100-yard rushing games and five games with 20-plus fantasy points. He just made big play after big play. Achane somehow averaged 7.8 yards per carry. He has a good chance to open this season as the starter for the Dolphins. Achane is a small back, but has a great speed and big-play ability. He can get to the next level in a hurry and has great moves in space. He runs well between the tackles despite lacking a little size for the position. He will drop some passes and his small size is a bit of a concern for his durability, which was a problem his rookie season.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Achane is a top-10 fantasy back. His ceiling is huge in this offense. His durability is a concern but as long as he is playing, expect big weekly point totals. He can get around 1,600 total yards, 50 catches and double-digit scores.

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane put together a pretty fantastic rookie campaign last season. The 22-year-old rushed for 800 yards on 103 attempts and eight rushing scores in 11 games. He didn't play a full season and was only 200 yards shy of an 1,000-yard campaign. Recently, head coach Mike McDaniel said he hopes to incorporate Achane more into their scheme going forward. This backfield is a bit crowded with Raheem Mostert and fourth-round rookie Jaylen Wright. The only way for Achane to probably have increased value would be more involvement in the passing game. At the end of the day, the Dolphins will probably end up using some type of committee approach. Regardless of what happens, Achane should still hold solid value in most fantasy formats.

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane had an explosive rookie season. The 2023 third-round pick posted 800 yards and eight touchdowns on just 103 carries and added 27 receptions for 197 yards and three touchdowns as a receiver. However, he's looking to develop his route-running and overall receiving skill set, according to Dolphins reporter David Furones. "Two specific goals Achane has this offseason:" Furones wrote. "Get stronger to better withstand the hits taken in the NFL and improve on his route-running to get the ball more often in the passing game." Achane led all Miami running backs with 37 targets last season, and he has a clear path to doing it again since Raheem Mostert isn't much of a pass-catcher, and rookie Jaylen Wright didn't show much as a receiver at Tennessee. Any extra receiving work could elevate Achane into the next tier of fantasy running backs, so this is a good sign for his potential upside in Year 2.

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane has impressed fans after showing up to voluntary offseason workouts this month looking to be in excellent shape physically. Already one of the most impressive offensive rookies in 2023 with the most yards per rush (7.8) with a minimum of 100 attempts, his fantasy stock is soaring heading into his sophomore campaign this fall. Achane stands at only 5-foot-9, 188 pounds, but he packs a punch and is one of the fastest players overall in the NFL already. The only knocks on the 22-year-old are that he missed six games with injury, and that Raheem Mostert, who scored 21 total touchdowns in 2023, is still around. Achane had 103 carries for 800 yards and eight touchdowns in 11 regular-season games (four starts). Even with Mostert around, Achane, when healthy, has some of the most upside of any RB in the league.

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane wasn't able to break off any huge plays in the wild-card loss on Saturday night like he has throughout the regular season. The rookie back capped off his first season with a sub-par performance after registering nine yards on six carries and hauling in three of his six targets for 21 yards. His longest play of the night was an 11-yard catch-and-run where he showed off some elusiveness but ultimately wasn't able to find much room. After taking a backseat to Raheem Mostert for most of the season, Achane quickly became one of the hottest waiver-wire additions after displaying astounding explosiveness. He played his way into a lead role until he got hurt, so he'll likely receive more opportunities as the lead back next year. He'll probably be a higher fantasy draft pick next season than his counterpart in the backfield.
