Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins said he envisions a big year for the team's wide receiver corps, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 in Houston. As in prior years, the Michigan product is the team's No. 1 option, but the cast around him has changed significantly. Tank Dell (knee) suffered a gruesome injury in last year's playoffs, while Stefon Diggs signed with New England. In response, Houston drafted a pair of Iowa State rookies, Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel, and also signed Christian Kirk. The emergence of any would be a significant help to Collins, who has proven be a steady fantasy WR1 when healthy.

Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins was targeted by quarterback C.J. Stroud "all day" during the team's joint practice with the Detroit Lions on Thursday, according to Colton Pouncy of The Athletic. In the four games before he injured his hamstring in Week 5 of 2024, Collins was averaging nearly 11 targets per contest. It appears the 26-year-old could be in line for a massive target share once again in 2025. Injuries have been an issue for Collins throughout his career so far, as he's missed 17 games across four NFL seasons. If he can stay on the field, Collins has a legitimate shot at being the overall WR1 in fantasy.

He also almost connected on a deep pass from quarterback C.J. Stroud during the team's first possession, and Stroud said after the game, "It's my job to connect with him, and I owe him one from today." Collins looked strong and ready for another elite season after posting over 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons. On Tuesday, Collins was able to find the back of the end zone on a remarkable catch against second-year defensive back Kamari Lassiter. In 2024, Collins posted his second-straight 1,000-yard campaign as he tallied 1,006 yards on 68 receptions. He found the back of the end zone seven times. Despite missing five games due to a hamstring injury, Collins produced as an elite WR1. Through his 12 games, Collins averaged an impressive 17.5 PPR points per game with 83.8 receiving yards per game. During the offseason, Texas added two pass catchers in the draft, such as Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel. They also brought in veteran Christian Kirk. With Collins slated to operate as the clear top option for C.J. Stroud once again, he is worth a selection in the first round despite his injury concerns. If he can stay on the field throughout all of 2025, he could make a push to finish as the overall WR1.

Dynasty | The Houston Texans drafted Iowa State wide receiver Jaylin Noel in the third round of the NFL Draft. Dynasty Analysis: It's a very interesting pick as the Texans also took his teammate, Jayden Higgins in the second round. Noel will likely play the slot but it's hard to see immediate production with Higgins, Nico Collins and a soon-to-return Tank Dell in the mix. This has the looks of a pick that's better in reality than fantasy and Noel's draft stock is going to fall a touch after the draft now.
