Cleveland Browns running back D'Onta Foreman carried the ball 14 times for 42 yards while adding nine yards on one catch in an 18-13 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. Foreman led the Browns in carries just one week after playing only one snap in a loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1. Cleveland appears content to split the backfield work between Foreman and Ford until Nick Chubb (knee) is ready to be activated from injured reserve. For now, Foreman is worth a waiver add in deeper leagues ahead of a Week 3 matchup against the New York Giants.

Cleveland Browns RB D'Onta Foreman rushed 14 times for 42 yards in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, while adding a 9-yard reception on his only target.

Fantasy Spin: Foreman saw double the rushing attempts for Jerome Ford, and he was used down near the goal line, which is bad news for Ford's fantasy managers. Foreman didn't really do a ton with his opportunity, but he is worth stashing for RB depth in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 3 against the New York Giants. His bump in fantasy relevance could be temporary, and Nick Chubb might be back from the PUP list as soon as Week 5 to make the Ford vs. Foreman battle irrelevant anyway.

The Cleveland Brown re-signed running back D'Onta Foreman to their 53-man roster on Thursday after releasing former Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler Huntley, according to sources. Foreman was initially cut on Tuesday when they trimmed their roster down, but he'll now rejoin the team as RB depth behind Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr. (ribs) to begin the year with both Nick Chubb (knee) and Nyheim Hines (knee) starting the year on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Expect Foreman and Strong work in tandem in a change-of-pace role behind Ford for at least the first four games of the 2024 season. The 28-year-old Foreman isn't going to see enough volume in Cleveland's backfield unless Ford also misses time due to injury early on, so fantasy managers in most leagues can avoid him for now. In his only year with the Chicago Bears in 2023, Foreman had 109 carries for 425 yards (3.9 yards per tote) and four TDs.

Free-agent RB D'Onta Foreman (Browns) re-signed with the Cleveland Browns' practice squad Thursday, Aug. 29. QB Tyler Huntley was released.

From TheHuddle

Aug 27 4:50pm ET

The Cleveland Browns announced on Tuesday that they are terminating the contract of running back D'Onta Foreman. The 28-year-old signed with the Browns this past offseason after bouncing around a couple of teams over the past few seasons. In 2023, he played nine games with the Chicago Bears, rushing for 425 yards on 109 attempts and four scores. Foreman did have a career year with the Carolina Panthers, where he rushed for 914 yards and scored five touchdowns in 17 games. Now, the Browns only have two running backs on their official 53-man roster (Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong Jr.), with Nick Chubb (knee) on the PUP list. Foreman will look to latch onto another team. According to Field Yates of ESPN, there is a chance the Browns will re-sign Foreman in a few days without him going to waivers.

Cleveland Browns DT Jowon Briggs, WR Ahmarean Brown, WR Jaelon Darden, S Chris Edmonds, DT Siaki Ika, DT Sam Kamara, TE Zaire Mitchell-Paden, LB Winston Reid, OT Lorenzo Thompson, TE Treyton Welch and WR Michael Woods II were waived on Tuesday, Aug. 27. The Browns also released CB Tony Brown, RB D'Onta Foreman, CB Justin Hardee, T Germain Ifedi and WR James Proche.

Cleveland Browns RB D'Onta Foreman (rib) left the preseason game versus the Seattle Seahawks Saturday, Aug. 24, after sustaining a rib injury.

From TheHuddle

Aug 17 8:00pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back D'Onta Foreman turned in a productive game in his team's 27-12 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in preseason action on Saturday. Foreman carried the ball 10 times for 18 yards and a touchdown while catching all five of his targets for 46 yards in the loss. The veteran running back got the Browns on the board in the first quarter, finding the end zone on a one-run rush while also turning in an impressive effort as a receiver. Foreman could hold some early-season fantasy value if Nick Chubb (knee) isn't ready to play when the season opens, although he would still split work with Jerome Ford.

Cleveland Browns RB D'Onta Foreman (neck) participated in practice Thursday, Aug. 8.

From TheHuddle

Aug 3 12:10am ET

Cleveland Browns running back D'Onta Foreman (neck) returned to the team on Friday. On Thursday, Foreman was airlifted to a hospital in Roanoke, Virginia, after suffering a neck/head injury in practice. He took a direct blow to the head during a special teams drill and was immobilized, though he never actually lost any feeling in his extremities. Cleveland signed the 28-year-old in March to serve as depth while Nick Chubb (knee) works his way back from a devastating knee injury. He should return to the field during training camp at some point as long as the injury is not severe, and with no timetable for Chubb's return, Foreman will be vying with backfield mate Jerome Ford for touches on the Browns' offense. He's currently an NFFC afterthought at RB65, No. 223 overall, but remains intriguing in best ball formats if he can put this injury behind him, as he still had some juice in the tank playing with the Bears in 2023.

Aug 2 1:43pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB D'Onta Foreman (neck) is back with the team on Friday, Aug. 2, after imaging scans on his injured neck came back negative on Thursday. Foreman was immobilized and taken away by an ambulance after the injury and before he was transported via helicopter to the hosptial. While we still do not know about any recovery timetable, this is obviously great news for Foreman. When he is cleared, he will return to compete for the third running back spot on the roster behind Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford. Foreman could have enjoy some early-season fantasy value if Cleveland chooses to be conservative with how quickly it gives Chubb a heavy workload.

From TheHuddle

Aug 1 2:40pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back D'Onta Foreman (neck) sustained a concerning injury during a kickoff drill, suffering a direct hit to the head that led to neck pain. The situation became alarming as he was immobilized and transported by ambulance, then airlifted to a medical center in Roanoke, Virginia, for further evaluation. Fortunately, Foreman retained movement in all his extremities. The 28-year-old is expected to be released from the hospital on Thursday afternoon as his X-rays and CT scans came back negative. The 28-year-old, who joined the Browns in March after a stint with the Chicago Bears, had his most successful season in 2022 with the Carolina Panthers, rushing for 914 yards and five touchdowns. The Browns signed Foreman to bolster their running back depth alongside Nick Chubb (knee) and Jerome Ford, which is especially important, with Chubb recovering from a season-ending knee injury. If Foreman is sidelined, Ford could become a valuable RB2, particularly early in the season, as Chubb recovers.

Aug 1 2:40pm ET

The Cleveland Browns say that X-rays and CT scans on running back D'Onta Foreman (neck) are negative, and he will be released from the hospital this afternoon and return to the team. It's very encouraging news after Foreman was immobilized following "a direct blow to the head that resulted in neck pain" before getting transported to the hospital to undergo further evaluation. The team previously added that Foreman had movement in all his extremities before he was airlifted from Thursday's practice. From a fantasy perspective, the 28-year-old veteran journeyman stands as Cleveland's No. 2 back behind Jerome Ford at the moment with starter Nick Chubb (knee) and satellite back Nyheim Hines (knee) not currently practicing. The Browns are certainly going to be cautious and likely ease Foreman back into action after such a scary incident.

From RotoBaller

Aug 1 1:43pm ET

Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns RB D'Onta Foreman (neck) 'had movement in all his extremities' when he was taken by helicopter to a hospital on Thursday, Aug. 1. Foreman was participating in a punt coverage drill when he was injured 'a direct blow to the head.' Foreman was immobilized and taken away by an ambulance before he was transported via helicopter to the hosptial.

Aug 1 12:03pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB D'Onta Foreman (neck) was carted off the practice field after sustaining a blow to the head that resulted in neck pain Thursday, Aug. 1. Foreman was immobilized, taken to an ambulance and was transported via helicopter to the hosptial.

Fantasy Spin: Foreman signed with the Browns this offseason with a chance to be the backup behind Nick Chubb. This will be something to monitor, but his absence should include more reps for Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong.

From TheHuddle

May 9 2:10pm ET

There's a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Cleveland Browns' backfield heading into this summer with running back Nick Chubb (knee) months away from having a timetable to return. Nyheim Hines (knee) is also recovering from a torn ACL as well. D'Onta Foreman figures to operate as the team's short-yardage back, while Jerome Ford could go anywhere from first in line to a specialized role while mostly helping in the passing game. Pierre Strong Jr. and John Kelly Jr. round out the RB room. The Browns have nice depth at the position, but the pecking order and specific roles are to be determined based on Chubb's availability and effectiveness. Foreman's fantasy value will hinge on Chubb as well, but in a best-case scenario if Chubb isn't ready for the start of the season, he'll be a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex.
