Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant (toe) was removed from the team's final injury report on Friday and will suit up for the Week 2 contest versus the New England Patriots. Meanwhile, tight end Pharaoh Brown (foot) has been ruled out. There wasn't much question as to whether Fant would be able to play this weekend, but he shouldn't be in many starting fantasy lineups in the second week of the 2024 season. The 26-year-old played 75 percent of the offensive snaps in the Week 1 win over his former team, the Denver Broncos, but it translated to only two catches on four targets for 11 yards receiving. Although Seattle is running a new offense this year under coordinator Ryan Grubb, not much is expected of Fant after he had career-lows in catches (32), targets (43), receiving yards (414) and touchdowns (zero) in 2023. Fant profiles as a touchdown-dependent, low-end TE2 in fantasy in Week 2.

Sep 12 9:10pm ET

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant (toe) has been upgraded to a full participant during Thursday's practice session. This means Fant should be ready to play after getting in a limited practice on Wednesday. It's worth noting that Fant has been dealing with this toe issue throughout the preseason. It could very well come back at him, but for now fantasy managers should expect him out there for the Week 2 matchup against the New England Patriots. Fant was quiet in the season opener with two receptions for 11 yards in the win. The Seahawks have a handful of options on offense, so sometimes Fant gets lost in the shuffle. He'll be on the TE2 radar for this weekend's matchup against the Patriots.

Sep 11 7:50pm ET

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant (toe) was listed as a limited practice participant on Wednesday. In addition to Fant, fellow tight end Pharaoh Brown (foot) was limited due to a foot injury. Fant was also limited in practice early last week before ultimately suiting up in the Week 1 win over his former team, the Denver Broncos. In the season-opening victory, the 26-year-old caught just two of four targets for 11 yards while playing 75 percent of the offensive snaps for Seattle. Barring a setback with his toe injury, he should be just fine to play in Week 2 against the New England Patriots. Fant took a major step back in this offense last year, so unless one or two of the Seahawks' trio of wide receivers go down with an injury, he's likely to be a low-upside, low-floor, low-end TE2 option for fantasy managers in 2024.

Sep 5 8:50pm ET

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant (toe) should not be on fantasy radars in Week 1. The Seahawks will host the Denver Broncos and project to have a solid day on offense. However, Fant has not been much of a fantasy contributor during his three-year tenure as a Seahawk. There is always the chance that new offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb decides to use Fant's athleticism more often. However, with the Seahawks boasting an excellent trio of wide receivers, that seems unlikely. Fant has also been limited all week with a toe injury that could hamper him in Week 1. It is best to look at other options and leave Fant on the waiver wire in Week 1.

Sep 4 7:40pm ET

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant (toe) was listed on the team's first official injury report of the 2024 season on Wednesday after he put in a limited practice session. Fant injured his toe at a training camp practice way back on Aug. 7, but the Seahawks have expressed optimism all along that he'd be ready for the Week 1 regular-season opener this Sunday against the visiting Denver Broncos at Lumen Field. The 26-year-old could be back to full practice by the end of the week and be removed from the final injury report for Week 1 on Friday. The former 20th overall pick by the Broncos in 2019 out of Iowa had career-lows in catches (32), receiving yards (414) and touchdowns (zero) in 17 games in his second year in Seattle in 2023. When healthy, Fant is the fourth receiving option, at best, among a trio of talented receivers, making him a low-ceiling, low-floor TE2 in fantasy.

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant (foot) was in uniform on the practice field on Monday. Head coach Mike Macdonald noted during the preseason that he is optimistic that Fant will be available for the Seahawks' opener against the Denver Broncos. While Fant has not put up prolific numbers for the Seahawks over the past couple of seasons, he is still important to the offense. New offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb could also scheme more looks for Fant in 2024. With backup tight end Pharaoh Brown (foot) also banged up, the Seahawks can only hope that at least one of these players will be available this week.

Aug 22 6:40pm ET

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant is expected to be ready to play in the Week 1 matchup against the Denver Broncos. Fant is working his way back from an undisclosed injury and hasn't been on the practice field for a few days. Head coach Mike Macdonald doesn't appear concerned about this being a long term issue for Fant. The 26-year-old is coming off the worst season of his professional career. He recorded a career-low 32 receptions, 414 receiving yards, and zero touchdowns in 17 games. Despite that, Fant remains the No. 1 tight end in Seattle and has a new offensive coordinator in Ryan Grubb. He's worth a look as a late-round option with the tight end position being limited in terms of elite fantasy contributors.

Aug 9 9:50pm ET

Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald announced that he believes tight end Noah Fant (foot) will practice next week. He missed a bit of time over the last few days due to a foot injury incurred during Wednesday's practice, but it seems he'll be all good to return following the weekend. This is a good sign for the sixth-year veteran, as any time missed during the crucial install of Ryan Grubb's offense could cost him. Targets will be scarce for Fant, as he has DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba to contend with for quarterback Geno Smith's targets. During Grubb's 2023 reign as coordinator for the Washington Huskies' offense, tight end Jack Westover finished the season with the fourth-most receptions and yards in Washington's offense. It seems fitting to project a similar situation here. Fant is the TE24 in NFFC ADP (207 overall) and is only a target in two-tight end and best-ball formats.

Aug 6 11:40pm ET

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant (foot) didn't finish training camp practice on Tuesday and left midway through with some sort of foot injury. Head coach Mike Macdonald didn't give any injury updates after practice, so it's unclear how severe Fant's foot injury actually is. For now, we'll consider him day-to-day. Re-signed in the offseason, the 26-year-old should open the year as the team's top pass-catching tight end if he's healthy. However, the former first-rounder of the Denver Broncos in 2019 out of Iowa wasn't exactly a fantasy standout in his second year in Seattle in 2023, catching a career-low 32 passes for 414 yards and no touchdowns in 17 starts. New offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb's system should be good news for Fant's fantasy outlook, but he's still likely to be fourth on the target totem pole behind receivers DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Jun 26 11:20pm ET

Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant "appears primed to be in line for a bigger share of the pass-catching role at the position" in 2024, according to Zac Hereth of Seattle Sports. The expectation is that Fant will have more opportunities to catch passes, allowing the Seahawks to push the ball down the field while maximizing production at the tight end position. However, this may not lead to a massive bump in snaps for Fant as he'll likely lose some of his blocking duties to Pharaoh Brown. While fantasy managers would like to see Fant get on the field as much as possible, he's still trending up with the expectation that he's headed for a featured role in the passing attack. Expect him to rank as a mid-range TE2 during 2024 fantasy football drafts.

Apr 27 2:00pm ET

The Seattle Seahawks selected Michigan tight end AJ Barner with the No. 121 overall pick in the fourth round on Saturday in the 2024 NFL draft. Barner is a mountain of a man at 6-foot-6, but his lack of production in four seasons at Indiana and Michigan (64 catches, 610 yards, five touchdowns) leaves a lot to be desired as he moves to the next level. The 21-year-old also isn't extremely athletic, but he'll have some opportunity in Seattle to make a name for himself as he starts out behind Noah Fant and Pharaoh Brown on the tight end depth chart in his rookie season in 2024. Fantasy managers should only consider Barner as a developmental prospect in deep rookie-only drafts this fall.
