The Notre Dame product has averaged 20.1 attempts and 2.5 receptions per game which shows how much of an integral role he plays in the Los Angeles offense. Last weekend, the No.2 running back Blake Corum logged only one offensive snap while Williams saw all the others. This week, the 24-year-old will face a Miami defense that has allowed the sixth-most PPR points to opposing RBs which makes him a safe, high-end RB1 in all formats.

It was tough sledding for Williams against an aggressive Seattle front seven. He did break a few big gains but half of his carries went for two yards or fewer. The Rams' lead back scored a touchdown, which ended up aiding him to a so-so outing in a disastrous day for L.A. in the desert. That works out to 91 percent of snaps for the Notre Dame product, who was expected to see some of his workload cut into by Corum, the rookie out of Michigan. Against a tough Lions run defense, Williams struggled to 2.78 yards per carry, but the outlook is rosy for the talented and versatile running back because of the extremely large snap-share. While it is natural to think Corum will become more involved as the weeks go on, if Williams dominates touches like this he should be in line for some huge fantasy weeks.

Put another way, the Lions were the stiffest test for fantasy running backs last season. That could continue into this season.
