Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels should be viewed as a high-end QB1 despite facing a tough Pittsburgh Steelers defense. Daniels continued his incredible rookie campaign last weekend against the New York Giants as he went 15-for-22 with 209 yards and two scores. He added 35 yards on the ground. During Weeks 6 and 8, Daniels threw for at least 250+ passing yards and attempted at least 30 passes. This weekend, he will face a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that has allowed the fourth-fewest points to opposing QBs this season. However, given his ability as a runner, fantasy managers should continue to feel confident locking Daniels into their lineup in all formats.

Dynasty | Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels completed 15-of-22 passes for 209 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in a win against the Giants. Dynasty Analysis: It was just another day at the office for Daniels, who added another 35 yards on the ground. The Commanders are 7-2 and the surprise of the NFL this season with much of that credit going straight to Daniels, who has been simply brilliant. While his nine passing touchdowns will need to increase for him to be an elite dynasty option, Daniels' floor is high because of his rushing ability and tendency to take care of the football. Caleb Williams is going to be good, but Daniels really may turn out to be great.
Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels went 15-for-22 for 209 yards and two scores en route to defeating the New York Giants. On the ground, Daniels added 35 yards on eight carries. He found his top wideout, Terry McLaurin, in the end zone both times. His longest pass of the day was on a 42-yard strike to Olamide Zaccheaus. The Commanders were in the lead throughout the entire afternoon and did not need their rookie QB to push the ball downfield. Despite the modest showing, fantasy managers should continue to view Daniels as a high-end QB1 heading into Week 10 when he faces the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels should continue to be viewed as a high-end QB1 heading into Week 9 when he faces the New York Giants. Last weekend, the LSU standout was a game-time decision with a rib injury but was able to suit up and lead the Commanders to a thrilling victory. In this game, Daniels threw for a season-high 326 yards and a score that was capped off by a game-winning Hail Mary pass to Noah Brown. This week, he was a limited participant in practice but does not carry an injury designation into the weekend. Fantasy managers should feel confident putting Daniels in their lineup as the Giants have allowed the 20th-most points to opposing QBs this season.

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (ribs) was a limited participant during Thursday's practice session. This is now back-to-back limited practice sessions for the rookie quarterback. Daniels was able to tough it out and play through the ribs injury during last week's win over the Chicago Bears. Fantasy managers should expect Daniels to play against the New York Giants this weekend, barring any setbacks. He'll remain a strong QB1 against a struggling Giants secondary.

Commanders' QB Jayden Daniels scored 25.50 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 8 win against the Bears. Daniels threw for 326 yards on 21-of-38 with one touchdown.
Dynasty | Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels completed 21-of-38 passes for 326 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in a win against Chicago. Dynasty Analysis: He added 52 rushing yards. This game will not be remembered as the first ever duel between Daniels and Caleb Williams (the first two picks in this year's draft), but more for the miraculous 52-yard Hail Mary to Noah Brown that won the game. Daniels came out of it healthy as his legend just simply grows. Daniels will be on the QB1 line as we move forward the rest of the way as he's done nothing but impress thus far in his young career.
Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels went 21-for-38 with 326 yards and a score in their victory over the Chicago Bears. On the ground, he added 52 yards on eight carries. Playing through a rib injury, Daniels was able to drive the Commanders downfield throughout the game but was unable to strike in the red zone. He found his wideout Terry McLaurin quite often for 125 yards and on an impressive 61-yard reception. However, his fantasy day was significantly improved by an incredible game-winning Hail Mary pass to Noah Brown for 52 yards. The LSU standout continues to add to his impressive rookie resume and remains a top fantasy option.

Commanders' QB Jayden Daniels passed for 326 yards on 21-of-38 with one touchdown in Sunday's win against the Bears.
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (ribs) will officially play and start against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. The rookie phenom was questionable heading into the day, and it looks like he's feeling good enough to start against a solid Bears defense. This also means we'll get to see the first and second-overall picks go head-to-head. Daniels still has QB1 value and should be a quality start for fantasy managers that were waiting on his status.

Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels (ribs) is expected to start barring a late setback according to Tracy Wolfson of CBS Sports. Wolfson reported that head coach Dan Quinn feels "really good where Jayden is at" and should be in line to start barring a pregame setback. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to kickoff in case he faces a setback. If the rookie standout is able to play he should be locked into all lineups as a high-end QB1. If not, Marcus Mariota should be viewed as a solid QB2 in Superflex formats.

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (rib) is trending toward being active for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He entered this weekend listed as questionable after being knocked out of last weekend's game in the first half, but all signs point to him starting in Week 8. The final hurdle for Daniels to clear is pregame warmups. If Daniels feels good while practicing before the game, he'll be confirmed as the Commanders starter. Assuming he plays, the No. 2 pick should be started in most fantasy leagues.

Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels (ribs) remains questionable for Sunday's game according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Rapoport further reported that the rookie will do a walk-through, and go through further treatment on Saturday. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progress throughout the weekend as the former number-two overall selection will likely be a game-time decision. If Daniels is able to suit up, he should be locked into all lineups as a high-end option as he has averaged an impressive 25.1 PPR points per game through his first six NFL games. If not, Marcus Mariota should be viewed as a solid QB2 in deeper Superflex formats.

Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels (ribs) was able to practice on Friday and remains in uncertain status for Sunday's tilt against the Chicago Bears. Head coach Dan Quinn expressed, "We will assess how he responds to the work that we did over the next 48 hours. But we really pushed it today" when discussing Daniels' participation during Friday's practice. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status heading into the weekend as he will likely carry an injury designation and be a game-time decision. If Daniels is able to play, he should be locked into all lineups as a high-end QB1. If not, Marcus Mariota will get the nod and be viewed as a high-end QB2.

Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels (ribs) remained out of practice on Thursday after missing Wednesday's session with an apparent rib injury. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft was knocked out of the Week 7 win over the Carolina Panthers and seems to be trending toward missing Week 8 against the Chicago Bears. Daniels scored at least 20 fantasy points in five of his first six NFL games, so his absence from fantasy lineups could be significant. If Daniels can't go, veteran and former No. 2 overall pick in 2015, Marcus Mariota, will get the starting nod. Mariota was excellent last week, throwing for 205 yards and two touchdowns while racking up 34 rushing yards. However, Chicago has surrendered the second-fewest fantasy points per game to QBs, making Mariota a low-end QB2 option if he starts.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn told reporters on Wednesday that rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels (ribs) will not practice after injuring his ribs in the Week 7 win over the Carolina Panthers. Backup Marcus Mariota will take first-team repetitions in practice, and it appears to be trending toward Mariota making the start in Week 8 against the visiting Chicago Bears. Daniels' injury doesn't appear to be very serious, but it doesn't mean that he'll start this weekend. The Commanders called the 23-year-old second overall pick week-to-week on Monday, so fantasy managers should have already made alternate plans in case he's ruled out this Sunday. If Daniels is out in Week 8, Washington's offense won't have nearly as much upside, while Mariota will be in play as a low-end QB2 in superflex leagues.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels (ribs) left Sunday's Week 7 blowout win over the Carolina Panthers early in the first half due to an injury to his ribs. While his injury isn't considered serious, Daniels will require treatment and monitoring throughout the week, according to sources, making him up in the air for Week 8 versus the Chicago Bears. The 23-year-old went for testing on his ribs when he left the game on Sunday and was due for more testing on Monday. While we don't know the exact nature of the injury to his ribs, it doesn't seem serious enough to land him on Injured Reserve, which would knock him out for at least four games. Daniels has been a must-start QB1 in fantasy as one of the best dual threats at the position early in his career, but managers may be forced to go elsewhere this week if the Commanders play it safe and hold him out. We'll know more in a few days.
From RotoBaller
Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels (ribs) underwent some initial X-rays on Sunday after he left the game against the Carolina Panthers. According to Jordan Schultz, those initial tests came back with no fractures to any of his ribs. The rookie phenom is still set to undergo some more tests on Monday as the team is taking a cautious approach to this injury. His status over the next couple of days will need to be monitored to understand the severity of the injury and if he'll need to miss any time moving forward. If he's unable to suit up in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears, Marcus Mariota will likely step in again as the starting quarterback.
From RotoBaller
Per Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn, rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels (ribs) is set for more testing on Monday to assess the extent of his injury further. The rookie QB participated in just one series of the team's 40-7 dismantling of the Carolina Panthers before getting knocked out with a rib injury. Quinn also noted that it's unclear what play the injury occurred in. While Daniels was ruled out from the contest, he returned to the sidelines with a big smile, potentially indicating it was not a severe injury. Even if that's the case, expect Washington to play it cautiously with their young franchise quarterback. Marcus Mariota performed well in relief and would be presumed to be under center again if the 23-year-old can't suit up for their Week 8 home tilt against the Chicago Bears.
From RotoBaller
Dynasty | Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels completed 2-of-2 passes for six yards, ran for 50 additional yards, but exited the game early with a rib injury in a win against Carolina. Dynasty Analysis: The Commanders blew out Carolina in what amounted to a total bludgeoning. The big concern is in relation to Daniels and his health. On the good news front, Daniels did return to the sideline after going to the locker room and while he was in street clothes, Washington had the game in hand and there was no need to risk him. We'll watch the news closely, but this doesn't have the looks of a serious long-term injury.
