Dallas Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Oct. 5.
Fantasy Spin: Cooks can be dropped in all formats.
From TheHuddle
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks (knee) is going on Injured Reserve on Saturday, which means he will miss at least the next four games. In a corresponding move, the Cowboys moved linebacker Nick Vigil to the active 53-man. Amani Oruwariye and Carl Lawson are also being elevated from the practice squad. Cooks had already been ruled out for Week 5's Sunday night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but now he won't be eligible to return until Week 10 against the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles. The Cowboys have their bye in Week 7. This news certainly makes Jalen Tolbert more attractive as a waiver-wire pickup if he's still available in your league, as he's expected to see a substantial role increase as the WR2 in Dallas behind CeeDee Lamb with Cooks sidelined. Cooks caught nine of 19 targets for 91 yards and one touchdown in the first four weeks of the season.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks (knee) is expected to miss some games, according to Clarence Hill Jr. Hill reported that Cowboys VP Steven Jones expressed that the No.2 wideout will miss some games due to his knee infection on 1053 The Fan. Cooks underwent an operation following their Week 4 victory over the New York Giants but faced a setback due to an infection caused by the procedure. Fantasy managers should monitor the veteran's status over the next few weeks but should find an alternative option for the foreseeable future. Jalen Tolbert is a strong candidate to serve as the No.2 pass receiver opposite of CeeDee Lamb and has performed well this season, catching at least three passes in three games. Tight Jake Ferguson should also see an uptick in targets during Cooks' absence.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 4, and has been ruled out for Week 5.
Fantasy Spin: Cooks is expected to miss more than one game, so fantasy players can keep an eye on his situation. Jalen Tolbert likely will see more targets with Cooks sidelined but can be avoided in most leagues.
From TheHuddle

CB Caelen Carson (shoulder), S Malik Hooker (non-injury), LB Eric Kendricks (non-injury), CB Jourdan Lewis (non-injury) and OG Zack Martin (non-injury) were limited during practice. S Markquese Bell (ankle) fully participated in practice.
From TheHuddle
The Dallas Cowboys will be without wide receiver Brandin Cooks (knee) for at least the Week 5 tilt on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he could potentially miss more time after an infection developed in his right knee after a procedure he had after remaining in New York following last Thursday night's win over the division-rival New York Giants, according to multiple sources. Fantasy managers that are in need of receiving help with byes starting in Week 5 may want to look to the waiver wire and pick up Jalen Tolbert, who will serve as Dallas' WR2 behind CeeDee Lamb with Cooks sidelined this weekend. Tight end Jake Ferguson should also see an uptick in targets from quarterback Dak Prescott. The 31-year-old Cooks has caught nine of his 19 targets for 91 yards and one touchdown through four weeks in his second season with Dallas. It sounds like he could miss time beyond Week 5.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks (knee) will not play in Week 5 and may miss more time than that after developing an infection in his knee after having a procedure done, according to sources on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
From TheHuddle
Dallas Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks caught one pass for 16 yards on Thursday, Sept. 26, versus the New York Giants. He was targeted four times.
Fantasy Spin: Make it three straight weeks with fewer than 20 yards receiving for Cooks. There was some belief, fueled by encouraging training camp reports, that Cooks and Dak Prescott were developing more chemistry with a full offseason together, and that the veteran wideout was in line for a bounce back season. Thus far, that looks like no more than wishful thinking. Those in deeper leagues can continue rostering Cooks, but owners in standard formats can safely drop him in search of someone with more upside.
From TheHuddle
Dallas Cowboys veteran receiver Brandin Cooks projects in WR4 range ahead of Thursday night's game against the New York Giants. Cooks has seen a fairly consistent role throughout the first three weeks as Dallas' WR2 and third option in the passing game. The 31-year-old is averaging five targets per game and has an 80% snap share on the season. Being on the field leads to opportunity, and we know that Cooks will be on the field for the Cowboys on Thursday night. He isn't a sexy start and doesn't have the highest ceiling, but Cooks can be considered as a flex option this week.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks finished with two receptions for 16 yards on six targets in Week 3 against the Baltimore Ravens.
Fantasy Spin: Cooks is battling Jalen Tolbert and KaVontae Turpin for targets behind CeeDee Lamb, and right now it's a battle the veteran Cooks is losing. He is only worth a look as a WR5 in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams heading into Week 4 against the New York Giants on Thursday.
From TheHuddle
Dallas Cowboys receiver Brandin Cooks did not have a productive day in the 28-25 loss to Baltimore. The veteran receiver was targeted six times, but only caught two balls for 16 yards. Cooks has now recorded back-to-back disappointing performances and is falling off of the fantasy radar. With that being said, he still holds an every-down role in a high-volume passing offense. The 30-year-old will be back in action on Thursday against the New York Giants.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys WR Jalen Brooks (ankle), DT Mazi Smith (back) and TE John Stephens (hamstring) were limited in practice on Friday, Sept. 20, and are listed as questionable for Week 3 versus the Baltimore Ravens. CB Trevon Diggs (foot), TE Jake Ferguson (knee), S Malik Hooker (shoulder), DE Marshawn Kneeland (calf), WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle) and OG Zack Martin (rest) practiced in full on Friday and have been removed from the injury report. WR Brandin Cooks (rest), LB Eric Kendricks (rest), DE DeMarcus Lawrence (rest), CB Jourdan Lewis (rest) and DE Tyrus Wheat (personal) were not given a practice designation on Friday but are expected to be available.
From TheHuddle
Dallas Cowboys receiver Brandin Cooks was limited in practice on Wednesday due to rest, but fully participated in Thursday's practice ahead of the Week 3 matchup with Baltimore. Cooks is not injured and should enter the game as the healthiest pass-catcher for Dallas with CeeDee Lamb (ankle) and Jake Ferguson (knee) battling injuries. The veteran is a WR4 option this week, as both Lamb and Ferguson are trending towards playing. The Cowboys should lean on the pass against a softer Baltimore secondary, making Cooks a potential flex option in deeper leagues.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 19.
Fantasy Spin: Cooks likely will receive a few targets in the passing game this week but can be avoided in most fantasy leagues.
From TheHuddle
Dallas Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks (non-injury) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 18.
Fantasy Spin: Cooks has been held to only 59 yards over the first two games of the season but has been targeted nine times during those games. Fantasy players should have better options available and can avoid Cooks.
From TheHuddle
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks couldn't get into much of a rhythm on Sunday, just like the rest of the offense in a disappointing 44-19 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Cooks caught both of his targets for 19 yards with his longest reception clocking in at 11 yards. Outside of CeeDee Lamb with his touchdown, the next best receiver in this contest was Jalen Tolbert who received nine targets and turned it into six receptions for 82 yards. For Cooks and all of the receivers behind Lamb, their fantasy value is going to be game script-dependent. The veteran wideout projects to be more of a boom-or-bust flex option as the season rolls on. Cooks and company will take on a Baltimore Ravens team looking for their first win in Week 3.
From RotoBaller
Dallas Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks caught two passes for 19 yards against the New Orleans Saints in Week 2. He was targeted two times during the game.
Fantasy Spin: Cooks saw a drop in his production this week and behind a few other receivers on the depth chart. Cook's targets likely will not be consistent this season, so fantasy players probably can avoid him most weeks.
From TheHuddle
Dallas Cowboys TE John Stephens (hamstring) did not practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 2 versus the New Orleans Saints. TE Jake Ferguson (knee) did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful. CB C.J. Goodwin (foot) and DE Marshawn Kneeland (calf) were upgraded to a full practice on Friday, Sept. 13, and no longer appear on the injury report. WR Brandin Cooks (rest), LB Eric Kendricks (rest), DE DeMarcus Lawrence (rest) and OG Zack Martin (rest) were not given practice designations on Friday but are expected to play.
From TheHuddle
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks put together a solid Week 1 finishing in the top 24 receivers in the WR2 range. His touchdown was a big part of that finish, but he also saw a good bit of volume against what was expected to be a solid defensive unit in the Cleveland Browns. Now, the Cowboys get a home game against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints posted a big performance against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1, and their secondary isn't one to scoff at. Cooks should still receive close to the same target share (21.8%), but going up against Tyrann Mathieu, Paulson Adebo, and Marshon Lattimore is going to prove to be more difficult. Currently, Cooks sits in the mid-flex area since CeeDee Lamb will be the one to deal with Lattimore the most.
