The Buffalo Bills announced that quarterback Josh Allen, along with the team's other starters, will not play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers. Head coach Sean McDermott originally planned to play his starters, but after the team saw multiple players suffer injuries over the weekend against the Pittsburgh Steelers, they are not taking any chances. Backup quarterback Mitchell Trubisky (knee), wide receivers Curtis Samuel (toe) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (neck), and tight end Quintin Morris (shoulder) are all expected to miss multiple weeks.

The Buffalo Bills plan to play quarterback Josh Allen and the team's healthy starters for a quarter and half of Saturday's preseason game against the hosting Pittsburgh Steelers. The playing time could change depending on the weather, considering there is rain in the forecast at Acrisure Stadium on Saturday. Allen as well as the star and veteran players made a brief appearance in last week's preseason opener against the Chicago Bears, but weather permitting, it sounds like fantasy managers will get a more extensive look at Buffalo's first-team offense on Saturday against the Steelers. One of the top storylines to watch is how the Bills' receiving corps might shakes ou; third-year receiver Khalil Shakir, veteran wideout Curtis Samuel, and rookie second-rounder Keon Coleman have yet to separate much in terms of ADP this summer.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen will play about a quarter in the preseason opener Saturday, Aug. 10.

Fantasy Spin: Allen was the QB1 last season.. He's still an elite option in drafts, but his stock could take a hit with the questions around him at receiver.

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced that quarterback Josh Allen will start in Saturday's preseason opener against the Chicago Bears, and he will play about a quarter. The 28-year-old could benefit from some preseason action given the turnover to his pass-catching group. With Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis out of town, Allen will need to work quickly to develop chemistry with newcomers Keon Coleman, Curtis Samuel, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, among others. Buffalo could get out to a slow start offensively until the new faces get comfortable, but these reps before the regular season could help speed the process along. Once again, Allen is the consensus QB1 in 2024 fantasy football drafts. Even if his passing numbers take a hit, his rushing upside insulates him as an elite fantasy option.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen has taken on a more vocal role as the leader of the team following the departure of several key veterans this offseason, Bills LT Dion Dawkins told The Herd on Wednesday, July 10. 'Josh is one of those guys that will do what it takes at that moment,' Dawkins said. 'He's definitely a barker when that time comes. I've actually seen the bark a lot more this OTAs where he's been very, very verbal, because our team is different. It's different. We've got some young dudes that, when they come in, they see a little bit of success, and they can change, so Josh is doing exactly what he should.'

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is widely regarded as one of the best players in the NFL, and he is the current face of the Bills organization. Heading into 2024, he'll be counted on more as a leader following the departures of Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, and Tre'Davious White, among others. Left tackle Dion Dawkins said he is taking that next step. "Josh is one of those guys that will do what it takes at that moment," Dawkins said. "He's definitely a barker when that time comes. I've actually seen the bark a lot more this OTAs where he's been very, very verbal, because our team is different. It's different. We've got some young dudes that, when they come in, they see a little bit of success, and they can change, so Josh is doing exactly what he should." Allen, who has finished as the overall fantasy QB1 in three of the last four seasons, could struggle early in the season while he builds chemistry with his new supporting cast, but his rushing upside insulates his value as a high-end QB1 again in 2024.

At just 24 years old, Jacksonville Jaguars safety Andre Cisco is an ascending player who could be on the verge of a true breakout in a contract year in 2024. The Jaguars already have big contract extensions for quarterback Trevor Lawrence and linebacker Josh Allen out of the way, so Cisco could be next up. After a tough offseason for the safety market, there is added intrigue with how teams will choose to pay their safeties, which also adds intrigue to Cisco's situation in Jacksonville. The former third-round pick in the 2021 draft out of Syracuse finished his third season in the NFL with 62 tackles (42 solo), half a sack, a career-high four interceptions, five pass breakups and a forced fumble in 15 starts last year. Cisco isn't quite on the fantasy radar yet in IDP leagues, but if he continues ascending, that could change in 2024.

Buffalo Bills WR Khalil Shakir may see increased targets from QB Josh Allen because he is the only receiver on the roster that has caught a pass from Allen in a regular season game, in the opinion of BillsWire's Nick Wojton.

Fantasy Spin: Shakir should be a regular contributor in the passing game for the Bills this season. He can be a late round pick in fantasy leagues but probably will not be a starting option most weeks.

New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll earned his opportunity with the organization after one year as Alabama's offensive coordinator and four seasons as the Buffalo Bills' offensive coordinator. However, assistant coach Mike Kafka ran the Giants' offense in 2022 and 2023. This offseason, ESPN's Jordan Raanan observed Daboll calling plays, with Kafta serving in a complementary role. If Daboll keeps the play-calling duties into the 2024 regular season, it could provide a boost for New York's attack. However, that is far from a given considering the lack of high-end assets among their 11 starts on offense. Daboll is credited with helping Josh Allen develop into an All-Pro quarterback, but Daniel Jones has proven to be limited through his first five NFL campaigns.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen said he plans to work out with the wide receivers before training camp begins.

Fantasy Spin: Allen will be working with multiple new receivers this offseason, so any extra time will help with his connection with the pass catchers. Allen is one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and should be a weekly starting option in all fantasy leagues.

The Buffalo Bills are signing veteran center Will Clapp, according to Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team. The 2018 seventh-round pick out of LSU began his career with the New Orleans Saints before spending two seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers. He has 65 games of NFL experience (21 starts). The Bills recently released Pro Bowl center Mitch Morse, so Clapp will add depth to the position. Connor McGovern is likely the favorite to start at center in Josh Allen's offense this year, but Clapp could make a push for extra reps during training camp.

Three-time Pro Bowl left tackle Dion Dawkins signed a three-year, $60.5 million contract extension with the Buffalo Bills on Monday, according to sources. The deal makes Dawkins the fourth highest-paid offensive tackle in the NFL. The 29-year-old former second-round pick by Buffalo out of Temple in 2017 has been a rock since landing in the NFL for the organization and has started 106 of his 112 games. He's made the Pro Bowl each of the last three seasons and has been a strong blind-side protector for Pro Bowl quarterback Josh Allen. Dawkins finished with the best pass-block win rate of his career in 2023 at 93.3 percent, and Allen was sacked the fewest times in his career (24) behind an offensive line that saw five starters start every game. Dawkins will continue to anchor on O-line in Buffalo that will look a little different at other positions.

The Buffalo Bills restructured the contract of quarterback Josh Allen on Monday, converting much of his 2024 compensation into a signing bonus to create $16.7 million in 2024 salary cap space. Allen's updated 2024 cap charge is now $30.356 million. The Bills are in a slightly better situation salary cap-wise, although they did lose receiver Gabe Davis in free agency to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday. Salary cap issues for the Bills aside, the 27-year-old Allen dealt with a right-shoulder issue midway through the 2023 season but never missed a game and finished as the most valuable fantasy QB with 4,306 passing yards, 29 touchdowns and 18 interceptions, but what made him elite were his 524 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns in 17 regular-season games. He'll be one of the first signal-callers to be selected in the early rounds of fantasy drafts this fall.
