Cleveland Browns wide receiver Kadarius Toney (undisclosed) was not practicing on Wednesday due to a minor undisclosed injury, according to Scott Petrak of The Chronicle-Telegram. Toney recently signed a contract with the Cleveland Browns on Monday to join the practice squad. The 25-year-old will likely need substantial time to get accustomed to the Cleveland playbook and should not be expected to join the active roster anytime soon. Last season, the former first-round selection played in 13 games for the Kansas City Chiefs but totaled just 169 yards and a score on 27 catches. He added 31 yards on the ground. Toney should remain on all waiver wires until he earns a consistent role in the Cleveland offense.

Dynasty | Free agent wide receiver Kadarius Toney has signed with the Cleveland Browns. Dynasty Analysis: Toney will start his Cleveland tenure on the practice squad but certainly intends to be elevated to the active roster in short order. This is a decent landing spot for Toney, who also visited Seattle in the last few days. Toney has little dynasty value at the moment but he's certainly worth watching as the weeks move forward.
Former Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney signed with the Cleveland Browns on Monday, according to sources. Toney also visited with the Seattle Seahawks and had visits with other teams lined up, but he'll head to Cleveland for now as the Browns look to add another playmaker. The 25-year-old former first-round pick by the New York Giants will start with the Browns' practice squad as he tries to work his way up to the active 53-man roster. Toney has always had elite playmaking ability because of his quickness, but he has not lived up to his draft pedigree, mainly because of nagging lower-body injuries. For the time being, Toney is just a player to watch in most fantasy leagues as he adds depth to Cleveland's receiving corps behind Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy, Elijah Moore and Cedric Tillman. Only in the deepest of fantasy leagues with large benches should fantasy managers add Toney off the wire.

Free-agent wide receiver Kadarius Toney visited the Cleveland Browns for a tryout earlier on Friday, according to Field Yates of ESPN. Toney failed to make the Chiefs roster earlier this offseason and recently visited the Seahawks this week. Toney, who was drafted in the first round by the New York Giants in 2021, has struggled to find his footing at the professional level. He had a career-high 420 yards in his rookie campaign before joining the Chiefs, where he totaled just 169 receiving yards last fall. While Toney has flashed elite speed at times, he held an underwhelming 71% catch rate last season. If Toney were to sign with the Browns, he would likely only be deployed sparingly throughout the season and would not be worth a look in most formats.

Free agent wide receiver Kadarius Toney completed his visit with the Seahawks and did not leave with a contract according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Fowler reports that Toney will likely take at least one more visit as he weighs his free agency options. Toney had 27 catches for 169 yards and a touchdown last season for the Chiefs. The former first-round pick out of Florida will look to catch on with a team soon after he was released by Kansas City this offseason.

Free agent wide receiver Kadarius Toney visited the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday. The Chiefs released Toney during roster cuts after he struggled with injuries and drops during his Chiefs tenure. The 25-year-old caught 27 passes for 169 yards and one touchdown in 13 games in 2023. While he was once a first-round draft pick, Toney has largely become a gadget player in the NFL. However, there is no denying Toney's quickness and ability to make defenders miss. He has been especially valuable in the return game. While Toney would not usurp DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, or Jaxon Smith-Njigba as Seattle's top receivers, he would have a chance for a role in an offense that should be creative under new coordinator Ryan Grubb. If signed, Toney would be far more important to the Seahawks' success than that of your fantasy team.

Dynasty | The Chiefs have released wide receiver Kadarius Toney. Dynasty Analysis: The Chiefs really tried to make it work with Toney but he's proven to be more trouble than he's worth. There's really no doubting the talent here but Toney has also proven to be unreliable both on and off the field. Someone will certainly take a shot at him in the coming days, making him still a hold in deep dynasty leagues until we see the smoke clear.
The Kansas City Chiefs are waiving wide receiver Kadarius Toney on Tuesday, but he'll have a market elsewhere. The Chiefs had been looking for a trade partner for Toney, but he'll now head to waivers after they found no suitors. Toney missed the exhibition opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a back injury, and his first snap against the Detroit Lions the following week was disastrous, as he committed two penalties. The former first-round pick reeled in a 20-yard pass in Thursday's preseason finale against the Chicago Bears as a last-ditch effort to stick around, but he just wasn't been able to put it together all throughout his rocky tenure in KC. Toney still has the talent to carve out some type of role as a playmaker or gadget player elsewhere, but his path back to fantasy relevance consists of many hurdles.

The Chiefs have released WR Kadarius Toney. The talented receiver has not lived up to expectations but likely will get another chance with a new team.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney made an appearance in Thursday's preseason loss to the visiting Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium, reeling in two of his three passes for 26 yards in the loss. Toney's long gain of the night came on a 20-yard reception from backup quarterback Chris Oladokun in the first quarter on Thursday against Chicago. It was an important performance for Toney, who is fighting to keep his roster spot as a cut candidate on the Chiefs this summer after an utterly disastrous 2023 season. Even if the 25-year-old former first-round pick keeps his job in KC's receiving corps, he isn't likely to be anything more than a gadget player who is used sparingly in 2024.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that wide receiver Kadarius Toney (ankle) is dealing with an ankle injury at training camp. Injuries have followed Toney everywhere early in his career. It remains to be seen how serious his ankle injury is, but any time missed in camp could be detrimental to Toney's chances of earning a prominent role in KC's offense to begin the year. The 25-year-old former first-round pick of the New York Giants was a big letdown in 2023 in his first full year with the Chiefs, as he finished the regular season with just 27 receptions on 38 targets for 169 yards and one touchdowns in 13 games (two starts). Working as a returner on special teams might be where Toney makes his biggest impact in 2024 if he can stay healthy. Even if Rashee Rice opens the year on suspension, which is expected, Toney belongs on the waiver wire in fantasy.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney is getting plenty of repetitions with the team's projected starters early in training camp practices this week. Toney was also seen doing drills with the running backs this week, so the Chiefs clearly haven't given up on his talent despite a disappointing year in 2023. The 25-year-old former first-rounder missed more time due to injury last year, too, playing in only 13 games (two starts). Toney finished with 27 catches (38 targets) for just 169 yards and one touchdown. Rashee Rice is expected to be suspended at some point in 2024, but the additions of rookie first-rounder Xavier Worthy and Marquise Brown figure to make things even more difficult for Toney to find a significant role in the Chiefs' offense. In most leagues, fantasy managers are going to want to see evidence of Toney taking the next step before putting him on their roster.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney was seen working as a running back during portions of the team's first training camp practice over the weekend. Toney had a disastrous 2023 season with the Chiefs, so perhaps the coaching staff is looking for creative ways to get the speedy wideout more involved this year. During wideout drills, Toney was present for 7-on-7 reps, alternating with the first-string offense and the third-string unit. Head coach Andy Reid didn't really give any clues to how the Chiefs might be using Toney differently this year. Not only does the former first-rounder need to show more in camp and the preseason this year in order to secure a roster spot, but he needs to stay healthy. The 25-year-old is currently on the outside looking in and is off the fantasy radar in single-year leagues.
From RotoBaller
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney is heading into a make-or-break year in 2024 as he enters the final year of his rookie deal. Toney missed training camp and the preseason in 2023 while recovering from surgery to fix the meniscus and cartilage in his knee. He struggled in the regular season with drops and was benched in December. Not only must Toney stay healthy, but he needs to rebuild his chemistry with quarterback Patrick Mahomes while also showing he can be a top target for backup Carson Wentz in the preseason. Even after the offseason additions of Marquise Brown and rookie Xavier Worthy, there's an argument to be made that Toney is the team's most talented pass-catcher. However, the 25-year-old needs to show consistency in camp this summer and in the preseason to secure a spot on the active roster. If not, he's a candidate to be traded.
