The Giants selected Tracy in the fifth round of this year's draft. He is still learning the position, playing running back for just a season in college. He converted from receiver, but showed good promise at the position. Tracy is a big-play threat with top moves in space. He catches the ball well and could be a solid third-down back from day one. He can get to the next level in a hurry. Tracy is still learning how to setup his blocks and run better on the inside. He lands in a good place for playing time, having some so-so options to compete with at running back in New York.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Tracy is worth a late-round gamble come draft day, especially in best ball formats. It would not surprise if Tracy carves out a consistent role in the offense as the season progresses. He can get around 600 total yards, 30 receptions and a few scores.

New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. has reportedly been impressing the organization early in training camp. The fifth-round rookie appears to be taking the lead in the competition for the second string job in the backfield. Tracy's ability in the short yardage passing game appears to be giving him the advantage over Eric Gray and Dante Miller. It's worth noting that Tracy spent a majority of his career as a wide receiver in college before switching to running back last season. That being said, Tracy certainly has the skillset to get the job done as a receiver in the backfield. However, it's uncertain how much of a usage Tracy could have behind Devin Singletary. Regardless, Tracy is someone to keep an eye on during training camp and in the preseason.

New York Giants running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. was selected in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, and any Day 3 pick is far from guaranteed to have a role in Year 1. However, the former wide receiver joined one of the weakest running back rooms in the NFL, meaning he has a legitimate shot to contribute on offense. Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com said Tracy for first-team reps during offseason activities this spring, and Tracy could become a piece of the passing game. "Tracy was already getting work in spring workouts with the first-team offense and clearly the Giants have an opening not just in the passing game, but as a kickoff returner as well," Stapleton wrote. Barring injury, Devin Singletary should be expected to take the first snap in the backfield for the G-Men, but Tracy, who had 113 receptions in six collegiate seasons, could work his way into a satellite back role, which could come with a solid target share considering the team's lack of high-end pass-catching weapons.
From RotoBaller
New York Giants rookie fifth-round running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. will compete with 2023 fifth-rounder Eric Gray this year for the No. 2 role behind reliable veteran Devin Singletary. Tracy will likely rotate in relief of Singletary, at least initially, but there is more opportunity in New York's backfield now that Saquon Barkley isn't in town. His biggest contributions in his first year in the NFL could come as a returner. The 24-year-old was a two-year starter at Purdue and has clear pass-catching abilities after spending four seasons as a receiver at Iowa. Tracy is going to need to improve as a pure runner, though, if he's going to see enough volume in the NFL to matter to fantasy managers. For now, he's just one to watch in dynasty/keeper leagues as a multi-dimensional threat as a rusher, receiver, and special-teamer.
