Per New England Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo, quarterback Drake Maye (concussion) will be a limited participant in Wednesday's practice as he works through the NFL's concussion protocol. Chris Mason -- the team's beat writer -- reported the news. Mayo noted that the rookie will "throw the ball at times" in Wednesday's session as he attempts to get cleared ahead of Sunday's contest. It's fantastic news for the rookie, who could play when New England lines up against the Tennessee Titans on the road in Week 9. Maye still has a few hurdles to clear before that's the case, including being cleared for action by an independent neurologist. Still, it's a positive sign that he'll participate in a limited fashion for the team's first practice of the week. If he can't play, veteran QB Jacoby Brissett will again lead the way against Tennessee.

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye (concussion) was forced to leave Sunday's game with a head injury. Head coach Jerod Mayo said on Monday that the rookie signal-caller has entered the NFL's concussion protocol so his status for their Week 9 matchup against the Titans is now in doubt. Jacoby Brissett stepped in as the QB for Maye and led the team to a 25-22 win over the Jets. If Maye is unable to make it back in time, Brissett will likely be under center again.

Dynasty | Patriots quarterback Drake Maye left the Patriots win against the Jets early with concussion-like symptoms. Dynasty Analysis: Maye completed just 3-of-6 passes for 23 yards before leaving, though he did add 46 yards and a touchdown on the ground. New England was still able to salvage the win without him, but he'll be needed back quickly if they want to have any kind of chance to make an extended run at a wild card playoff spot this season. Maye will likely enter concussion protocol, so the impressive young rookie's progress will be monitored this week. He remains a solid QB2 in dynasty leagues.

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye (head) left Sunday's game against the New York Jets with a head injury in the first half. He was originally ruled questionable to return, but has since been downgraded and will not come back in this contest. He leaves after throwing 3-for-6 for 23 yards and taking three carries for 46 yards and a touchdown. Jacoby Brissett will take over for the rest of the game which means the fantasy ceiling for the passing game will likely take a hit.

Oct 27 2:10pm ET

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye (head) exited during the second quarter of Sunday's game against the New York Jets and is officially questionable to return. The No. 3 overall pick looked solid before departing in Week 8 as he racked up 23 passing yards, 46 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown. He also took one sack. Maye suffered the injury while taking a head-to-head hit from a Jets defender at the end of a run. Jacoby Brissett has entered the game and will remain the Patriots' quarterback until Maye is cleared to return.

The New York Jets defense will head on the road to take on the New England Patriots in Week 8. The Patriots' offense has looked much better since turning to rookie quarterback Drake Maye two weeks ago but this is still a tough spot for a rookie signal-caller against a talented Jets defense. Treat New York's D/ST as a top-10 option heading into Week 8.

From RotoBaller

Oct 25 10:50am ET

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye makes his first start against a divisional opponent in Week 8 when he takes on the New York Jets at home. The 22-year-old has been impressive through his first two career starts, completing 65.7 percent of his passes for 519 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also has 56 rushing yards, six sacks, and a lost fumble. In those two games, Maye has been the QB10 and QB7, respectively. It's certainly possible he keeps up this top-12 production against the Jets, but it should also be noted that he's had easier matchups in a negatively-scripted, blowout loss to the Houston Texans and a clash with the Jacksonville Jaguars' subpar defense across the pond. Maye gets a more true test this week against the Jets, who have allowed the seventh-fewest passing yards, seventh-fewest fantasy points, and eight-fewest rushing yards to opposing quarterbacks this year. This tougher matchup knocks Maye out of the top-12 tier, but he still ranks a solid mid-to-high QB2 play for fantasy football in Week 8.

Oct 20 6:40pm ET

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye completed 26 of 37 passes for 276 yards, two touchdowns, and zero turnovers during Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. He also rushed for 18 yards and two sacks. The rookie No. 3 overall pick has looked impressive through his first two starts, tallying 519 passing yards, five touchdowns, two interceptions, and one lost fumble during that span. With that said, matchups with the Texans and Jaguars haven't exactly pitted him against dominant defenses. The 22-year-old will get a more true test next week against the New York Jets, especially with pass rusher Haason Reddick set to make his 2024 debut. Maye ranks as a mid-range fantasy QB2 going forward.

Dynasty | Patriots quarterback Drake Maye completed 26-of-37 passes for 276 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in a loss against Jacksonville. Dynasty Analysis: He added 18 rushing yards, which actually tied for the team lead. The fact Maye didn't turn the ball over in this one despite being under siege the entire game is a modern miracle. While the stat line isn't something that blows you away, anyone who has watched him play over the past couple of games has to believe the Patriots have clearly found their quarterback of the future. Maye's dynasty stock is on the rise.

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye (knee) popped up on the injury report this week but was seen at practice on Thursday and looked fine. Offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt already said that he's "not concerned" and head coach Jerod Mayo says that he's confident Maye will be ready to play on Sunday in London. Mayo also said that Maye looked good in practice throughout the week. In Maye's first start, he finished as a low-end QB1 while throwing for 243 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. He should carry the same sort of value heading into the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars who have a much weaker defense compared to the Texans.

Oct 17 1:10pm ET

New England Patriots offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt said that he's "not concerned" about rookie quarterback Drake Maye's (knee) status for the Week 7 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Maye was on Wednesday's injury report as a full participant but went for an MRI exam on his knee after practice. "Looked good to me yesterday," Van Pelt said. We'll keep a close eye on Maye leading up to Sunday's contest across the pond, but all indications are that he'll be fine to make his second career start against a porous Jacksonville secondary. The 22-year-old had ups and downs in last week's blowout loss to the Houston Texans, going 20-for-33 for 243 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions while also losing a fumble. For fantasy purposes, he'll be a low-end QB2 with upside in a great matchup against the Jaguars.

From RotoBaller

Oct 16 7:30pm ET

New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye (knee) was able to put in a full practice on Wednesday after banging up his knee in his first career start in the Week 6 loss to the Houston Texans, but he went for an MRI exam after practice. It's something to watch for fantasy managers in superflex, two-QB leagues as the Patriots prepare to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in London this Sunday. In the 22-year-old's first NFL start, he went 20-for-33 for 243 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions, adding five carries for 38 yards and a lost fumble. It obviously was an up-and-down performance, but Maye certainly gives fantasy managers in two-QB leagues much more upside than Jacoby Brissett. And in a fantastic Week 7 matchup against the one-win Jags, Maye will definitely have some QB2 upside if he's able to suit up.

From RotoBaller

Oct 14 12:50am ET

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye completed 20 of 33 passes for 243 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions during his first career start in Week 6 against the Houston Texans. He also rushed for 38 yards, took four sacks, and lost a fumble. The No. 3 overall pick played far from perfect football on Sunday, but he showed numerous flashes of potential while leading scoring drives and converting down-and-distance opportunities against a relentless Texans pass rush. He also showed confidence and touch when throwing his deep ball as he connected with Kayshon Boutte for a 40-yard score. Going forward, Maye has the arm talent and rushing ability needed to survive both as an NFL starter and in fantasy football. He'll jump into the low-end QB2 tier ahead of next week's clash with the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

Oct 13 6:13pm ET

Dynasty | Patriots quarterback Drake Maye completed 20-of-33 passes for 243 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in his first career start. Dynasty Analysis: Maye certainly made some mistakes in this one, but he threw for more touchdowns in this one (three) than Jaboby Brissett had in five games (2). While Maye has a long way to go, anyone who watched this game would tell you Maye simply looks like a better option. The Patriots are looking at a lost season but Maye should have a chance to provide QB2 value the rest of the way.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Oct 12 12:20am ET

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who was the No. 3 overall pick in 2024 and is slated to make his first career start in Week 6 against the Houston Texans, has undeniable upside but is not yet a worthwhile option in most fantasy football leagues. Maye takes over the reins of the Patriots after Jacoby Brissett led them to a 1-4 start, but he could face some initial adversity throwing to an uninspiring wide receiver corps behind one of the NFL's most porous offensive lines. Rhamondre Stevenson (foot) is also sidelined this week, leaving New England without one of its most productive offensive playmakers. In the end, Maye, who played a few snaps at the end of Week 4 against the New York Jets, could inject some life into the Patriots' offense but doesn't project to play well enough to justify adding him in redraft leagues.

From RotoBaller

Oct 9 5:13pm ET

Dynasty | The Patriots are starting quarterback Drake Maye this week. Dynasty Analysis: The Patriots chose to start the season with Jacoby Brissett at the helm and the results turned out to be about as expected. New England is 1-4 and have a real chance of seeing their season spiral out of control, so they're turning to the rookie. It's a best-case scenario for Maye as he shouldn't be under too much pressure as the team has simply looked anemic. Still, there is a real lack of offensive talent on this team, so it's fair to wonder just how this is going to go. Maye's dynasty value should rise with some solid performances.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Oct 8 4:00pm ET

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye will make his first career start in Week 6 at home against the Houston Texans. The Patriots had been committed to starting Jacoby Brissett. However, they decided to make a change following the team's 15-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins last week. Maye briefly played in Week 3 against the New York Jets, completing four of his eight pass attempts for 22 yards and two rushing attempts for 12 on one drive, totaling 2.1 fantasy points. Hopefully, the change at quarterback can jumpstart a struggling New England offense. Yet, fantasy players shouldn't have high expectations for Maye or the offense this week or anytime soon. The rookie quarterback is only worth adding in standard-size superflex leagues. Meanwhile, Rhamondre Stevenson is the only Patriot that fantasy players can start with confidence until the offense shows signs of consistent production.

From RotoBaller

Oct 7 10:10am ET

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has yet to make his first NFL start, but that could change in Week 6 according to Adam Schefter. Head coach Jerod Mayo had a noticeable tone change when it came to answering questions about the team's quarterback situation, and another game where the offense was barely able to move the ball could set the change in motion faster than previously expected. The Patriots are dead last in passing yards per game, passing touchdowns, and completion percentage while coming in at third-to-last in passer rating. While they sit at 1-4 in the middle of a four-game losing streak, Maye could finally get his first start against the Houston Texans in Week 6.

Oct 2 10:50am ET

New England Patriots center David Andrews (shoulder) needs surgery that would end his season but is deciding whether to play through the injury, according to Mark Daniels of MassLive.com. The veteran center is a big part of New England's offense and would be a significant loss for the fantasy prospects of running back Rhamondre Stevenson and could potentially affect whether the Patriots move to rookie Drake Maye at quarterback.

From RotoBaller

Oct 1 6:50pm ET

New York Times reporter Chad Graff stated on Tuesday that conversations with New England Patriots players and head coach Jerod Mayo indicate that the team believes quarterback Drake Maye is ready to be an NFL starter. However, Jacoby Brissett remains the starter in New England due to the lack of talent in the Patriots' offense. The Patriots are taking a cautious approach to protect Maye and ensure that his confidence does not falter. Ever since training camp, reports have indicated that Maye has been outplaying Brissett. As an NFL veteran, Brissett is better equipped to handle the difficult situation that is the Patriots offense. Brissett has stood no chance behind the Patriots' O-line in 2024. He has only managed to throw for 536 yards and two touchdowns. He has also been sacked 15 times in four games. Maye himself was sacked twice on one drive in limited action in Week 3. NFL fans will likely see Maye as the starter at some point in 2024, but the Patriots appear to have no interest in rushing that process.
