Los Angeles Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson showed some flashes of receiving ability during the preseason, but his blocking remains a work in progress as Los Angeles approaches Week 1. Though that might not be top-of-mind from a fantasy perspective, it will impact how much the rookie sees the field and ultimately how much he gets targeted. Tyler Higbee is still L.A.'s top tight end, but the Rams clearly saw the promise in Ferguson by using a second-round pick to acquire him. As something of a project, Ferguson has more value in dynasty formats, but his receiving ability could present deep sleeper appeal in redraft leagues, too.

Los Angeles Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson (groin) caught two of his three targets for 48 yards during Saturday's preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns. The rookie missed the first two preseason games due to injury, but he was able to get on the field and showcase his pass-catching abilities this weekend. While Tyler Higbee may open the 2025 season as Los Angeles' No. 1 tight end, it's clear that Ferguson represents the future for the Rams. He showcased a rare blend of speed, size, athleticism, route-running, and ball-tracking skills against the Browns. He's a very intriguing dynasty option, and he could even start to generate some redraft appeal by midseason. Ferguson should stay right on Higbee's heels, so if the veteran gets injured or struggles to produce, the rookie will be ready to take over.

Los Angeles Rams rookie tight end Terrance Ferguson (groin) will play in the team's final preseason game against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday, according to ESPN's Sarah Bishop. Ferguson missed more than two weeks with a groin injury, but returned to practice on Monday. The second-round pick out of Oregon has yet to play in the preseason, so Saturday will be his first taste of NFL game action. The Rams have a very deep tight end room, so Ferguson could easily start the season behind veterans Tyler Higbee and Colby Parkinson on the depth chart. The 22-year-old Ferguson is a name to keep an eye on in dynasty leagues, but he's unlikely to factor in fantasy during the 2025 season.

Los Angeles Rams rookie tight end Terrance Ferguson (groin) returned to training camp practice and was in full pads on Monday after missing the last two-plus weeks with a groin injury, according to Cameron DaSilva of Rams Wire. Head coach Sean McVay said Ferguson was "a little bit limited." Ferguson hasn't played in the first two preseason games, and it's unknown if he'll suit up in the preseason finale on Saturday against the Cleveland Browns. The Rams are unlikely to take any chances with their top rookie before the regular-season opener, so the 22-year-old probably won't play this weekend. For fantasy purposes, Ferguson can be ignored in redraft leagues in 2025 with the Rams being deep at the TE position with Tyler Higbee, Colby Parkinson an Davis Allen in the mix alongside the rookie. The Rams have the luxury to be able to take it slow with Ferguson.

Los Angeles Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson (groin) was unable to participate in practice on Saturday. Head coach Sean McVay has downplayed the severity of the issue, but he also said Ferguson has no timetable to return. This is certainly frustrating given Ferguson was reportedly looking good during camp. The expectation was Ferguson could be an immediate impact player after being selected in the second-round of this year's draft. Tyler Higbee figures to continue working as the No. 1 while Colby Parkinson gets extra snaps as the backup. This injury shouldn't impact Ferguson's status in dynasty leagues, but he might lose steam in re-draft formats.

The Los Angeles Rams reached an agreement on Saturday with second-round tight end Terrance Ferguson on a four-year, $9,713,466 contract, including $8,046,753 in guarantees, according to his agent Steve Caric. The Rams took Ferguson with the 46th overall pick in April's NFL draft out of Oregon. The 22-year-old consistently produced for the Ducks and had his best season in 2024, catching 43 passes for 591 yards and three touchdowns. While Ferguson won't be drafted in standard-sized redraft leagues this fall, he represents valuable insurance for Tyler Higbee, who played in only three regular-season games in 2024 due to injury. Ferguson has good size at 6-foot-5 and 247 pounds, but he may need to prove to the coaching staff that he's able to handle himself as a blocker before he can overtake Higbee as the primary pass-catching TE.

Los Angeles Rams tight end Terrance Ferguson was selected by the team with the No. 46 overall pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Oregon. It was rumored that the Rams were interested in trading up for Brock Bowers in 2024 and one of Colston Loveland or Tyler Warren in 2025, so Sean McVay and company have been eyeing an impact tight end, which makes Ferguson intriguing right away for fantasy football purposes. While Tyler Higbee remains in Los Angeles, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic believes Ferguson could be a breakout player if the offense utilizes more 12-personnel (two tight ends) this season. "While McVay's scheme was still largely run through 11 personnel (82 percent of the Rams' offensive plays in 2024), he also deployed 12 personnel on 15.5 percent of offensive plays and hit that average or higher between Weeks 15 and 18." Rodrigue wrote. "The Rams ran 12 personnel on an average of just 5 percent of offensive plays in 2023. Veteran tight end Tyler Higbee's return from injury across that period gave McVay two healthy starting-caliber tight ends. He has reiterated his hope for his offense to be more multiple." With the Rams lacking a quality wide receiver behind Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, it would not be surprising to see Ferguson on the field often in his rookie season. That said, it usually takes tight ends some time to develop, and he'll have plenty of target competition in Year 1. He's not worth drafting in traditional fantasy setups, but he is worth monitoring as a potential later-season waiver wire pickup.

Dynasty | The Los Angeles Rams drafted Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Dynasty Analysis: This looks like a solid landing spot for the former Duck. While he needs some refinement in his route running and blocking, he also fits the mold of what Sean McVay likes and could be the tight end we all once thought Tyler Higbee was going to be long-term. Patience may need to be used here, but this landing spot will likely improve his stock a touch.
The Los Angeles Rams have selected Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson with the No. 46 pick in the second round of Friday's draft. On paper, this is a good upgrade for the Rams who needed another tight end alongside Tyler Higbee. Ferguson finished as Oregon's all-time leader among tight ends with 134 receptions and 16 touchdowns during his college career. This past season, Ferguson finished with a career-high 43 receptions and 591 receiving yards in 12 games. He's quick and agile enough to possibly be helpful for screens as well. Rams' head coach Sean McVay isn't scared to use his offensive players in unique ways, so it wouldn't be shocking to see Ferguson making an impact right away in Los Angeles.
