Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley is expected to have a strong season, but it could start off on a relatively sour note. Ridley faces the Denver Broncos on Sunday, which means he'll spend most of his time being covered by elite cornerback Patrick Surtain II. Last season, Surtain allowed just 1.15 fantasy points per target to opposing receivers, which ranked second-lowest in the NFL. As a team, the Broncos allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points to the position, as well as the fewest touchdowns. While Ward will surely throw Ridley's way often, especially if the Titans are trailing, the odds of Ridley breaking off numerous big plays are severely reduced. For this week only, you can probably find a better WR3/FLEX option than Ridley.

Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Nick Holz said the team will have to move wide receiver Calvin Ridley around on offense to help get him open, and that the other wideouts will have to win their one-on-one matchups this year. Despite dealing with subpar quarterback play in 2024 in his first year with the Titans, Ridley managed to post his second straight 1,000-yard season and third of his career on 64 receptions while scoring only four times in 17 games (14 starts). It was a slight step back from 2023, when he was with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 30-year-old veteran is the Titans' unquestioned WR1 yet again, but he doesn't have much help behind him and will be working with a rookie signal-caller in Cameron Ward. Fantasy managers can hang their hat on plenty of volume, but efficiency could once again be an issue.

Tennessee Titans WR Calvin Ridley said he is looking to play well this season so he can help QB Cam Ward during his rookie season. 'It was like, this kid's good and I got to be good. I can't fall behind. I got to be a help. I got to be a big help cause it's time to dominate,' Ridley said.
Fantasy Spin: Ridley is in line to be a significant part of the passing game for the Titans and should be a reliable target for Ward. Ridley can be considered at least a No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues most weeks.
From TheHuddle
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley says he's mentally stronger heading into his second year with the team after injuries and a mental-health journey, which included a gambling suspension. Ridley was suspended for the entire 2022 season while with the Atlanta Falcons after violating the league's gambling policy, and he also played through a broken foot in 2020. Since sitting out the entire 2022 campaign, Ridley has posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Titans. Is it possible for Ridley to post a third straight 1,000-yard season in 2025. Well, the good news is that there still isn't much depth behind the 30-year-old in Tennessee's receiving corps, so volume is going to be a plus once again for those that draft him in fantasy. However, efficiency could once again be a problem while working with a rookie QB, making him a low-end WR2/high-end WR3.

Tennessee Titans WR Calvin Ridley (undisclosed) has missed time in training camp in recent weeks, but coach Brian Callahan feels he is on pace for return prior to Week 1 against the Denver Broncos.
Fantasy Spin: Ridley is being drafted as a WR3 or flex fantasy option in leagues of 12 or more teams. However, make sure to have plenty of depth on hand, just in case he isn't ready for the regular-season opener.

Tennessee Titans WR Calvin Ridley (undisclosed) missed his second straight practice Wednesday, Aug. 20, because of soreness.
Fantasy Spin: The team is likely taking things slow with Ridley, so he may not return to practice until next week. He should see plenty of targets in the passing game this season and can be a No. 3 receiver in a majority of fantasy leagues.

Tennessee Titans WR Calvin Ridley (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Tuesday, Aug. 19, because of soreness, according to head coach Brian Callahan.
Fantasy Spin: Ridley may miss a few practices but will most likely be ready for the start of the regular season. He will see plenty of targets each game and should be a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues.
From TheHuddle
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley (undisclosed) is dealing with some undisclosed soreness and will sit out of training camp practice on Tuesday, according to Paul Kuharsky. Ridley should be back on the practice field at some point this week, but the Titans are just giving their star wideout a little rest for the final week before the regular season kicks off. Fantasy managers shouldn't be too worried. The 30-year-old caught 64 of his 120 targets for 1,017 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games (14 starts) in his first year in Tennessee last year. It was Ridley's second straight 1,000-yard season. While he will surely be the top aerial target again for the Titans in 2025, fantasy managers will want to temper expectations since he'll be working with rookie quarterback Cameron Ward. Ridley is a volume-based WR3/flex for fantasy.

Tennessee Titans wide receivers Calvin Ridley and Tyler Lockett did not suit up for the team's second preseason game on Friday night against the Atlanta Falcons, according to Turron Davenport of ESPN. It remains to be seen if the Titans will allow Ridley and Lockett to take the field for the final preseason contest next Friday versus the Minnesota Vikings. Targets and volume shouldn't be an issue for Ridley as he goes into his second year in Tennessee, although he'll be working with rookie quarterback Cameron Ward. The 30-year-old caught 64 of 120 targets for 1,017 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games last year with poor QB play. Efficiency could once again be an issue in a weak Titans offense, which makes Ridley more of a WR3/flex in fantasy than a bonafide WR2 target. Ridley has back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and 12 combined TDs.
From RotoBaller
Tennessee Titans WR Calvin Ridley and WR Tyler Lockett will not play in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 15.
Fantasy Spin: Ridley is a lock to make the team, while Lockett should have a very good chance to earn a spot and does not need to play in the preseason game. Ridley is the main option in the passing game and can be at least a No. 3 receiver in fantasy leagues. Lockett will probably see a few targets during game and could be a late round pick in some leagues.
From TheHuddle
Tennessee Titans WR Van Jefferson is listed as a starter on the team's first unofficial depth chart of training camp, with fellow veteran WRs Tyler Lockett and Calvin Ridley atop the chart.
Fantasy Spin: Jefferson had 50 receptions for 802 yards and six touchdowns on 89 targets, all career highs, back in 2021 with the Los Angeles Rams, his second year in the NFL. Since, in four seasons with the Rams, Atlanta Falcons and Pittsburgh Steelers, he has averaged just 22.7 receptions, 284.7 receiving yards and just five total touchdowns across the past three seasons. Even if he is able to work as a starter, he has a rookie quarterback, so it could be a rocky season. Jefferson is worth a flyer in the final rounds on draft day if he remains a top-three option in Nashville, but don't get carried away. Treylon Burks has a fractured collarbone, but he is expected back in season, too.

Tennessee Titans WR Calvin Ridley (non-injury) returned to practice Saturday, Aug. 2.
Fantasy Spin: Ridley should see plenty of targets this season as Tennessee's top receiving threat and can be viewed as a WR3 option for most fantasy leagues.
From TheHuddle
Tennessee Titans WR Calvin Ridley did not participate in practice Friday, Aug. 1, but head coach Brian Callahan said the absence was not injury related. Ridley did leave practice Wednesday, July 30, because of cramps.
Fantasy Spin: Ridley does not appear to be dealing with any serious injury and should return to practice in the next few days. He will see plenty of targets in the passing game and can be considered a No. 3 receiver in most fantasy leagues.
From TheHuddle
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley (calf) will sit out Friday's practice. According to head coach Ben Callahan, this is a scheduled maintenance day for Ridley. The 30-year-old exited Wednesday's practice early after experiencing cramps in his right calf and will get Friday off to rest. The buzz around Tennessee is that Ridley has had a strong start to camp and has been building a natural chemistry with No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward since the first practices of Spring. Ridley is the unquestioned alpha in the Titans' receiver room, and he led the league in unrealized air yards last season while catching passes from Will Levis. If he can continue to earn the trust of his young QB and the Titans' passing game finds any semblance of rhythm this year, Ridley represents sneaky good value in the middle rounds in upcoming fantasy drafts.

Updating an earlier report, Tennessee Titans WR Calvin Ridley (calf) dealt with cramping in his right calf during practice Wednesday, July 30, according to TennesseeTitans.com's Jim Wyatt.
Fantasy Spin: Nothing to worry about with Ridley, who dropped out of practice due to cramps. As long as he's healthy, he's the only Titans receiver to target on draft day with midrange WR3 value.
