New York Jets new wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring) plans to play in Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Adams was traded to the Jets on Tuesday and will make his debut on Sunday Night Football. Although the news is exciting, fantasy managers may want to temper their expectations for Adams. He is entering a new offense with less than a week of preparation time while coming off a soft tissue injury. Additionally, the Steelers are No. 10 against opposing wide receivers in fantasy. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers seems to have found a rhythm over the last couple of weeks but it may take a couple of weeks for Adams to fully get going. In three games with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024, Adams has 18 receptions for 209 yards and a touchdown.

New York Jets WR Davante Adams (hamstring) is expected to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7, according to sources Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Fantasy Spin: It's not a coincidence that Adams' three-week-long injury was suddenly healed following the trade. Managers should proceed with caution with Adams in Week 7, but he can be a flex option in a pinch given his history with Aaron Rodgers.

Oct 15 5:53pm ET

New York Jets WR Davante Adams agreed to a restructured contract that will lower his salary-cap number to $3.21 million by adding two voidable years, according to sources Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Oct 15 2:50pm ET

Following the New York Jets acquiring All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders, Adams has agreed to a restructured contract that lessens his cap hit in 2024. Adams and the team will likely work to restructure the 2025 and 2026 portions of his contract in the future, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The 31-year-old is set to reunite with his longtime quarterback in Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers. While Adams could take time to acclimate to his new team, he has longstanding chemistry with Rodgers and has a chance to play in Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Adams caught at least 100 passes three times in his eight seasons with the Packers and Rodgers, and he scored at least 10 touchdowns in five different seasons. His arrival in New York could help Garrett Wilson draw more favorable matchups, but Wilson will no longer dominate targets.

Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams was traded to the New York Jets Tuesday, Oct. 15, in exchange for a third-round pick that can become a second-rounder based on performance.

Fantasy Spin: Adams wasn't playing for the Raiders, and it won't affect them too much. They will push forward featuring Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers as their top receiving options. Bowers is the TE2 in fantasy and will remain a highly targeted option. Meyers is the WR42 but should remain a solid WR3 option, granted he stays healthy.

Oct 15 10:23am ET

Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams was acquired by the New York Jets Tuesday, Oct. 15, for an undisclosed package.

Fantasy Spin: Adams will lift up the 2-4 Jets' offense immediately. WR Mike Williams, who failed to catch any of his three targets on Monday Night Football will likely lose most of his fantasy luster. Garrett Wilson is coming off two monstrous games in a row, and while he likely won't see 23 targets again like he did in London, his fantasy star should continue to rise. Adams may need some time to blend in and probably won't be a WR1 right off the bat, but he should stay around the high-end WR2, low-end WR1 area. Aaron Rodgers' fantasy value receives an uptick, and he'll be a low-end QB1 option in certain matchups.

Oct 15 10:20am ET

The New York Jets are completing a trade for All-Pro Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The Jets will send a conditional fourth-round pick that can become a second-round pick based on performance. The 31-year-old has missed each of the last three games with a reported hamstring injury, but his absence was also tied to wanting out of Las Vegas. Adams will rejoin future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. He spent eight seasons with Rodgers in Green Bay and racked up three seasons of at least 1,300 receiving yards. He scored at least 10 touchdowns in five seasons with the Pack. This is an exciting move for NFL fans, but with Rodgers looking like he has lost a step, it could be difficult for Adams and Wilson to both produce elite fantasy football numbers every week while sharing a field. This move greatly hurts the fantasy football outlook of wide receiver Allen Lazard and tight end Tyler Conklin, but the New York offense could ascend to a high-end unit with a plethora of proven veteran pass-catchers.

The Las Vegas Raiders have declared CB Sam Webb, OT Thayer Munford, WR Davante Adams, WR Jakobi Meyers, LB Tommy Eichenberg, DE Janarius Robinson and RB Zamir White inactive for Week 6.

Oct 13 11:13am ET

The Buffalo Bills, New York Jets and New Orleans Saints are still reportedly interested in trading for Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams and a trade could happen as soon as this week. However, the two main obstacles to completing a deal appear to be Adams' contract and potential compensation that the Raiders would receive; the Raiders are not interested in paying any portion of his contract if he is dealt.

Fantasy Spin: Adams is currently sidelined due to a hamstring injury and could be playing in a different uniform the next time he returns to the field. For Las Vegas, TE Brock Bowers is the only must-start receiving option in fantasy leagues, although WR Tre Tucker could be used as a flex option in deeper leagues.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring) "could wind up staying" with the team. Schefter didn't elaborate. However, it adds another dynamic to what has already been a volatile situation. The wideout will miss another game on Sunday due to a hamstring injury, with many still believing his days with the Raiders are over. But at this point, fantasy managers aren't as concerned with who he is playing for as long as he gets back on the field. As far as the Week 6 meeting with the Steelers is concerned, Jakobi Meyers (ankle) is doubtful, so it could be a rough day for Aidan O'Connell. Still, the door is open for Tre Tucker and DJ Turner, who both logged over 50 snaps in Week 5, to get more involved. Alex Bachman and Tyreik McAllister may also enter the equation, although Brock Bowers still has the best chance of being the top fantasy pass-catcher for Vegas in Week 6.

Oct 11 6:10pm ET

The Las Vegas Raiders officially ruled out wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring) for the Week 6 contest against the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Adams will miss his third straight game with a hamstring injury that isn't believed to be all that serious, but at this point, the 31-year-old isn't expected to play again as he awaits to be traded before the deadline in early November. In addition to Adams being out again, wideout Jakobi Meyers (ankle) is questionable to suit up. It means that quarterback Aidan O'Connell, who is taking over the starting job from Gardner Minshew II, could be down to Tre Tucker and rookie tight end Brock Bowers as his top two receiving targets against a swarming Steelers defense. If Meyers also is inactive on Sunday, DJ Turner and Tyreik McAllister would likely start in three-receiver sets for the Raiders. Adams' fantasy managers hope a trade goes down sooner than later.

Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams (hamstring) and TE Michael Mayer (personal) did not take part in practice on Friday, Oct. 11, and have been ruled out for Week 6. Also, LB Tommy Eichenberg (hamstring) did not practice but is questionable, WR Jakobi Meyers (ankle), OG Jackson Powers-Johnson (knee), OT Thayer Munford Jr. (knee, ankle) and RB Zamir White (groin) were limited and are questionable, S Trey Taylor (knee) was a full participant but is questionable, DE Maxx Crosby was limited but carries no designation and LB Divine Deablo (oblique), WR Tyreik McAllister (shoulder), OT Kolton Miller (knee, shoulder), S Tre'von Moehrig (knee), OG Dylan Parham (Achilles), CB Decamerion Richardson (hamstring) and WR DJ Turner (hamstring) practiced in full and were removed from the injury report.

Oct 11 5:53pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams (hamstring) did not take part in practice once again on Friday, Oct. 11, and has been ruled out for Week 6.

Fantasy Spin: Head coach Antonio Pierce left the door open for Adams to play for the Raiders again once healthy, but we'll have to see it to believe it after the star wideout requested a trade. Adams' absence boosts Tre Tucker into a flex option and Jakobi Meyers into a borderline WR2, assuming he plays.

From TheHuddle

Oct 10 7:33pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 10.

Fantasy Spin: Adams is not expected to play in Week 6 and probably will be in a new uniform when he plays again. Fantasy players should look for other options to use in their lineups.

From TheHuddle

Oct 9 8:33pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams (hamstring) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Fantasy Spin: Adams is not expected to play this week, but fantasy players can keep an eye on the situation to see if anything changes. Brock Bowers may be the only Raiders pass catcher that is a must-start option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 9 10:10am ET

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring) is unlikely to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. The hamstring issue may be more of an excuse at this point to keep Adams off the field while the Raiders search for a trade partner. A report earlier this week stated that Adams is nearing full health. The Jets, Saints, and Steelers seem to be the teams pursuing Adams the hardest. However, the Saints just lost Derek Carr (oblique) for a few weeks. The Jets fired their head coach. Other teams don't seem as eager to match the Raiders' asking price. This will be the third straight game Adams has missed. He likely won't see the field again until he's on a different roster.

From RotoBaller

Oct 9 10:03am ET

Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams (hamstring) is expected to be out for Week 6 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Fantasy Spin: Jakobi Meyers has turned 19 targets into 11 grabs for 121 yards the last two weeks. He and TE Brock Bowers are really the only Raiders pass-catchers worth using. Meyers is a flex option, and Bowers is a solid TE1.

From TheHuddle

Oct 8 10:00pm ET

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams has been the hottest name in the trade market over the last week or two. The veteran wideout has been sidelined since Week 3 due to a hamstring injury, but it doesn't appear to be serious. That being said, Adams figures to be dealt relatively soon. The New York Jets and New Orleans Saints were the favorites to land the superstar wideout. However, those trade talks may have slowed down, according to Adam Schefter. The Jets have fired head coach Robert Saleh and their season is headed in the wrong direction quickly. While the Saints just lost quarterback Derek Carr (oblique) for likely multiple weeks, which could put their season in jeopardy. Both the Jets and Saints aren't likely to give up assets to acquire Adams if they aren't going to be competitive this season. The assumption is both teams probably still have interest, but it sounds like trade discussions have slowed down a bit.

From RotoBaller

Oct 8 1:40pm ET

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that linebackers Alex Highsmith (groin) and Nick Herbig (hamstring) will miss the Week 6 contest this Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium. Highsmith will be missing his third straight game due to a groin injury, but he deserves to be stashed in IDP fantasy formats for the time being. Herbig was also injured in the Week 5 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night and won't be available this week, putting more on the shoulders of All-Pro pass-rusher T.J. Watt. With both Highsmith and Herbig sidelined, Jeremiah Moon will have an opportunity for more playing time in Vegas. Even though the Steelers will be without both Highsmith and Herbig, the Steelers defense/special teams until will be a must-start against a Raiders team that is trying to trade receiver Davante Adams while also in the midst of a QB controversy.

From RotoBaller

Oct 7 1:50pm ET

The Las Vegas Raiders' preference as an organization is to trade wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring) "sooner rather than later," according to multiple sources. However, the Raiders aren't just going to do any deal just for the sake of trading Adams, and their preference has been not to take on any of the money remaining on his contract. Trade talks involving Adams are expected to heat up this week, with the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints being the most likely destinations for the 31-year-old. Adams has missed the last two games with the Raiders due to a hamstring issue, but he's expected to be ready to play in Week 6 if he's traded by then. In three games this year, he has caught 18 passes for 209 yards and one touchdown. Moving out of Vegas and their ugly quarterback situation should be a plus for Adams' rest-of-season fantasy outlook. Stay tuned on this high-profile situation.
