Fournette was without a team most of last season before signing with the Bills late in the year. He had 12 carries for just 30 yards in two games with the Bills. It was a huge drop in production after having more than 1,000 total yards with the Bucs. Fournette had 1,100-plus total yards four of his first six seasons in the NFL before last year. He is 29 years old, so don't count him out to play a bigger role this season. He still has something left and plenty of past success. He will look to earn a backup role this season. Fournette is trending the wrong way, but can be a huge asset in the passing game. He has at least 69 receptions three of five seasons. Fournette has two 1,000-yard rushing seasons for his career and more than 1,000 total yards four times. Fournette is a big back that can carry the load. He runs with a lot of power but also has the speed to make plays to the outside. Fournette doesn't have great moves in space and some injury concerns, but is a pretty complete back.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Fournette isn't the same back as past years, but can still help fantasy teams if getting the playing time because of his work in the passing game. He will get his catches, just don't expect the huge reception totals of past years. Fournette is more wavier-wire material than draft material. He has risks. Look for around 500 total yards and a few scores.

Free-agent running back Leonard Fournette is motivated to continue his NFL career and intends to sign with a team before the 2024 season. Fournette has hired former agents, Ari Nissim and Pat Capra, to help in that pursuit. "Leonard's in the best shape of his career and I expect he will have a new home soon," Nissim said. It would be a surprise to see the 29-year-old veteran latch on with a team after training camp begins, but expecting Lenny to become fantasy relevant this year is a different story. His last 1,000-yard rushing campaign came back in 2019 with the Jacksonville Jaguars, although he did have over 1,000 scrimmage yards in 2021 and 2022 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fournette played in just two games with the Buffalo Bills in 2023 and had 12 carries for 40 yards. At best, Fournette will be a complementary depth option for a team's backfield in 2024.

Dynasty | The Bills have released running back Leonard Fournette. Dynasty Analysis: The 28-year old Fournette struggled to find a contract this season and ends the year with just 40 rushing yards and no touchdowns in limited action for the Bills. It's fair to wonder if this is the end for the former Pro Bowler as he may find it tough to find a contract next season. Still, he's proven to be more than capable so he'll be on a short list for teams who have an injury in training camp. Fournette is more name than game at this point and will be a tough hold in dynasty leagues moving forward.
The Buffalo Bills released running back Leonard Fournette from their practice squad on Tuesday. The Bills signed Fournette for some extra RB depth late in the season, and he saw action in Weeks 16 and 18 but carried the ball just 12 times for 40 yards. With injuries mounting on the defensive side of the ball for Buffalo heading into their Divisional Round matchup this Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Bills will focus on adding depth elsewhere besides the RB position. James Cook will remain the team's lead back this weekend against the Chiefs, with Ty Johnson and Latavius Murray continuing to provide depth behind him. Fournette is quickly approaching the end of his career and might struggle to latch on with another team for training camp this summer.
