The New York Giants placed defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence (elbow) on season-ending Injured Reserve on Monday. Lawrence won't be able to make it back for the Giants' final five games of the season after suffering a dislocated elbow in last Thursday's Thanksgiving Day loss to the division-rival Dallas Cowboys. It's a serious blow for New York's pass-rushing unit, as the 27-year-old had recorded a career-high and team-high nine sacks in his first 12 starts after making the Pro Bowl each of the last two seasons with the team. It's also a big loss for fantasy managers in IDP leagues, as Lawrence was entering Week 14 action as the No. 9 overall defensive lineman in overall fantasy points. Lawrence's play on the interior of New York's defensive line had been one of the few bright spots for a 2-10 Giants squad in 2024.

New York Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence (elbow) sustained an elbow injury during Thursday's loss and is expected to remain sidelined "long term," according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Lawrence suffered a dislocated elbow during the third quarter of their Thanksgiving match against the Dallas Cowboys and did not return to action after. Fantasy managers in IDP formats should expect Lawrence to miss the remainder of the season. Before the injury, Lawrence tallied 44 tackles (23 solo), nine sacks, and one pass deflection. For the remainder of the season, Jordan Riley and Elijah Chatman should see an uptick in opportunities.

The New York Giants placed linebacker Azeez Ojulari (toe) on injured reserve Tuesday. He is now slated to miss a minimum of four games. Ojulari has been a bright spot for a Giants team devoid of talent or direction in 2024. He has recorded six sacks and 28 total tackles in 11 games played this season. The Giants defense has been solid this season behind the play of Ojulari and other solid defenders such as defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II and linebacker Brian Burns. Unfortunately, the offense has lagged far behind the defense and it seems as though Giants coaches are losing the locker room on both sides of the ball. Before his injury, Ojulari was tied for second on the team in sacks with Burns. He is also third in tackles for loss with seven. The Giants do not have a lot of depth behind Ojulari so things only seem to be getting worse for this franchise in 2024.

New York Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II (knee) opened up the Week 12 injury report as a limited participant. Lawrence is one of the best defensive tackles in the league. He anchors what is actually a solid New York Giants defense. The Giants host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 12. Lawrence and his nine sacks will definitely be needed with Baker Mayfield and company coming to town. Given that Lawrence is a veteran and has played in every game this season, his presence as a limited participant on the injury report this early in the week is of little concern. He is enjoying a career year and should give Mayfield and the skill players in Tampa Bay fits on Sunday provided he remains healthy enough to play.

New York Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence (hip) and linebacker Brian Burns (groin) are both active for the Week 7 divisional contest on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Lawrence and Burns were both listed as questionable coming into Sunday's contest. Meanwhile, cornerback Adoree' Jackson (neck) is out, while safety Dane Belton (illness) is active. With Lawrence officially active, he's in play in IDP fantasy leagues as a starting defensive lineman. The two-time Pro Bowler already has seven sacks in six games in 2024 and is well on his way to setting a new career-high in the category. Burns, who is eligible as a D-lineman and linebacker in many leagues, is also worth a start as a defensive lineman in IDP leagues now that he's officially active. Burns has three sacks and 23 combined tackles so far this year for the Giants defense.

New York Giants linebacker Brian Burns has been described as a "game changer" by his teammates, according to Nick Shook of NFL.com. Fellow linebacker Bobby Okereke expressed that his new teammate is a game changer and a prolific player. Burns was traded from the Carolina Panthers to the Big Apple in exchange for draft picks. Burns was then immediately given a five-year $150 contract with $87.5 guaranteed. The 26-year-old has made two Pro Bowls in his five-year career and has tallied 46 total sacks. He will join a strong Giants pass rush core that includes Dexter Lawrence, Keyvon Thibodeaux, and Jordan Phillips. The Florida State product could be an intriguing pick in IDP leagues, as he should finish near the double-digits in sack totals by the end of the season.
