Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell put his game-managing hat on and led the team to a 19-14 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. The former fourth-round pick registered 257 yards with no touchdowns or turnovers on 24-for-38 throwing and seven carries for 12 yards. While his performance wasn't spectacular, especially in fantasy football, he managed the offense enough for the team's third win. His fantasy ceiling is very limited, but he'll look to grab another win over the New Orleans Saints in Week 17.

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell (knee) appears to be ready to return to the field following a one-game absence. O'Connell has been able to get through full practice sessions and should be good to go against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to head coach Antonio Pierce. The return of O'Connell is good news for the fantasy value of Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers. O'Connell hasn't been a fantastic fantasy option, but carries QB2 value against a struggling Jags secondary.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell (knee) was a full participant during Thursday's practice session. O'Connell has now made it through back-to-back full practice sessions without a setback, which is great news ahead of the Week 16 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Another full session on Friday should get O'Connell cleared to play for this weekend. He sat out of last week's loss to the Atlanta Falcons after suffering a bone bruise in his knee in Week 14. The return of O'Connell should boost the fantasy value of both Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers. O'Connell would be a lower end QB2 if he is able to return this weekend.

Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell (knee) is practicing on Wednesday leading up to the Week 16 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. This marks the first time he has practiced since he suffered a knee injury against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14. Head coach Antonio Pierce said O'Connell is trending toward being available for Sunday, so for now, he can be assumed as "probable" for Week 16. The 26-year-old has thrown for 899 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions in six games this year. Although he's heading into a matchup with the most fantasy-friendly defense for quarterbacks, he's not a recommended starting option in single-QB formats. If he can't play, Desmond Ridder is in line for another start.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell (knee) missed the Monday Night Football contest against the Atlanta Falcons with a knee injury, but head coach Antonio Pierce said the second-year pro is "trending upward to playing" against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 16. The 26-year-old has completed 86 of his 136 passing attempts for 899 yards, four touchdowns, and three interceptions in six games this season. However, he will draw a juicy matchup against the No. 1 fantasy-friendly defense for QBs if he can suit up on Sunday. That said, with no teams on a bye, fantasy managers can likely find better options in single-QB leagues. He could have a quality spike week for two-QB and Superflex fantasy managers who are depending on him.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Desmond Ridder will start in a revenge game against his former team, the Atlanta Falcons, on Monday Night Football. Meanwhile, Aidan O'Connell (knee), who was listed as questionable with a bone bruise in his left knee, is officially inactive and will serve as the emergency third QB. O'Connell was initially feared to have suffered a season-ending knee injury when he was hurt in the Week 14 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it ended up being a bone bruise. If he recovers this week, O'Connell could be an option for the Raiders in Week 16 versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, but it might also depend on how Ridder fares against Atlanta. The 25-year-old will be making his first start of the year after going 12-for-18 for 101 yards in relief of O'Connell in Week 14. With limited offensive weapons around him, we're expecting Ridder to struggle to move the ball consistently on Monday.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell (knee) is questionable to play against the Atlanta Falcons for Monday Night Football in Week 15. O'Connell did not participate in practice Thursday, Friday, or Saturday and has an official questionable tag heading into Monday night's contest. He has 899 yards passing and four passing touchdowns with three interceptions this season. Desmond Ridder is listed as the backup quarterback for the Raiders should O'Connell be sidelined on Monday. Ridder has 239 passing yards and a passing touchdown for Las Vegas this season.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell (knee) will not suit up for practice on Friday. This is now back-to-back missed practices for O'Connell as he heads into Monday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. The hope is that O'Connell will be able to play as long as he can get in a limited practice session on Saturday. If he sits, Desmond Ridder would be tasked with making his first start of the season. O'Connell suffered a bone bruise last week, so it's uncertain if he'll even be 100 percent healthy by Monday. Fantasy managers who planned on using O'Connell might want to start looking for a backup plan.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell (knee) was unable to get on the practice field on Thursday. Despite his absence in practice, O'Connell is hopeful to suit up for the Monday night matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Last week, O'Connell suffered a bone bruise in his left knee during the loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The organization feared O'Connell would miss the rest of the season, but now he has a chance to play in Week 15. If he sits, Desmond Ridder would be tasked with making his first start of the season. The fact that O'Connell sat out on Thursday isn't a great sign heading into Monday's game, but there is still plenty of time for him to still get cleared to play.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell (knee) took part in the team's walkthrough practice on Wednesday and is still holding out hope that he can play in Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night. O'Connell suffered a knee injury in the Week 14 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the Raiders initially feared it could end his season, but O'Connell was diagnosed with just a bone bruise. "Yeah, I'm hoping to get there," O'Connell said. "Obviously, we've got a longer week this week, which helps, and so just really taking it day by day. Obviously, not something I've been through with this particular injury. So, trying to get there." While the 26-year-old won't miss the rest of the season now, he's not a lock to play on Monday night. A decision on his status for Monday night probably won't be made until this weekend. If he can't go, Desmond Ridder will make his first start of 2024.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce said that quarterback Aidan O'Connell (knee) will take part in the team's walkthrough practice on Wednesday. As far as O'Connell's availability for the Monday night game in Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons, Pierce said it will depend on how O'Connell looks this week. The Raiders won't hold their first official practice until Thursday this week, but it's a good sign that O'Connell will be on the field on Wednesday after the Raiders initially feared he suffered a season-ending left-knee injury in the Week 14 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He's officially dealing with a bone bruise. If O'Connell plays on Monday night, he'll be a low-end QB2 with upside in superflex leagues against a Falcons defense that was torched by the Vikings in Week 14. If O'Connell is ruled out, Desmond Ridder would make his first start in 2024.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell (knee) is dealing with a bone bruise in his left knee, an MRI exam confirmed on Monday morning, according to sources. The Raiders were initially fearing a season-ending knee injury for O'Connell after he was hurt late in the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, with promising MRI results, O'Connell isn't yet being ruled out of next Monday night's game versus the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15. If O'Connell can't go, Desmond Ridder would get the nod in primetime against his former team. The 26-year-old O'Connell had an air cast on his leg and was carted off on Sunday, but it appears his season won't come to an end. It remains to be seen when O'Connell might play again, but he should remain Vegas' starter the rest of the way if he's able to return before the Week 18 regular-season finale.
From RotoBaller
Per head coach Antonio Pierce, if Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell (knee) is not healthy enough to suit up for their meeting with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football, Desmond Ridder would start against his old team in Week 15. New reports of O'Connell are that tests reveal he's picked up a bone bruise in his knee. Admittedly, it is a much less severe outcome than we could have imagined yesterday. Still, while the 26-year-old hasn't been ruled out of the Monday night matchup, it hasn't explicitly been said that he's starting. With his status in doubt, Ridder would slot in as the team's QB1, just as he did this past Sunday in their loss to the Buccaneers. We'll see how this shakes out with an extra day of rest in store for Las Vegas ahead of Week 15. Keep an eye out for the Raiders' first practice report of the week on Thursday.
From RotoBaller
The Las Vegas Raiders aren't optimistic on quarterback Aidan O'Connell's knee injury that he suffered late in the Week 14 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, the team's ninth straight loss to drop them to 2-11 on the season. "It doesn't look good," head coach Antonio Pierce said after the game. O'Connell was knocked out of the game late in the third quarter and was carted off the field with his leg in an air cast. Gardner Minshew II (collarbone) is already out for the rest of the season, so if O'Connell is, too, the Raiders would be down to third-stringer Desmond Ridder for the final four games of the year. Ridder should at least make the start in Week 15 against his old team, the Atlanta Falcons, on Monday Night Football. Between bad QB play and star receiver Davante Adams' departure via trade, the Raiders offense hasn't had much of a chance in 2024.
From RotoBaller
Per Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, the Las Vegas Raiders fear that quarterback Aidan O'Connell (knee) suffered a season-ending knee injury in Sunday's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to Schultz, O'Connell will undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury. Ouch. It's another potentially massive blow to the Raiders' offense, as they've already lost one quarterback for the year (Gardner Minshew [collarbone]). Signal-caller Desmond Ridder took over for the 26-year-old upon his exit and figures to be the team's starter moving forward. In more unfortunate news for Las Vegas, the injuries on the offensive side of the ball continue to pile up. We'll likely get an update on AOC over the next 24 hours.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was placed in an air cast and carted to the locker room during the third quarter. At the time of his departure, O'Connell had completed 11 of his 19 pass attempts for 104 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. He also had six rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. While O'Connell's stats weren't amazing, he helped keep the Raiders competitive and never trailing by more than four points. Desmond Ridder has replaced O'Connell at quarterback. If O'Connell misses extended time, Ridder would be in line to start against his old team, the Atlanta Falcons, in Week 15.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell (illness) missed practice on Thursday due to an illness, but he returned to a full practice on Friday and doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14. In his first start since returning from a fractured thumb, O'Connell surprised in the Week 13 loss to the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs, throwing for 340 yards and two touchdowns. While we aren't saying that O'Connell is on the QB1 map, he does have an exploitable matchup on his hands on the road this weekend. The Buccaneers defense has allowed the third-most passing yards per game this year and the most fantasy points to the position on a weekly basis in 12 games this year. His top wideout, Jakobi Meyers (ankle) is questionable but is expected to play. Consider O'Connell a low-end QB2 with upside this weekend in fantasy.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce said that quarterback Aidan O'Connell (illness) will be a "full-go" at Friday's practice and is on track to play in the Week 14 tilt on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. O'Connell was under the weather on Thursday and did not practice, but he's feeling better on Friday and should suit up this weekend for his second straight start with Gardner Minshew II (collarbone) out for the season. The second-year signal-caller was basically a game manager for the Raiders in his rookie season, but he threw for 340 yards and two touchdowns in a near upset of the division-rival Kansas City Chiefs last Friday in his third start of the season. With O'Connell good to go this weekend, he'll have the potential for another big game as a QB2 against a Bucs defense that has allowed the most fantasy points per game to opposing QBs this year.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell (illness) was under the weather with an illness and did not practice on Thursday. O'Connell's status is worth watching, but he still has several days to recover and should be fine to suit up for Week 14 versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If the 26-year-old is still under the weather come Sunday, Desmond Ridder would make his first start of the year with Gardner Minshew II (collarbone) out for the season. Fantasy managers will want to check back on O'Connell's status on Friday, but as long as he's back on the field, he'll be tracking toward being active this weekend. The bigger concern for O'Connell if he plays might be the health of top wideout Jakobi Meyers (ankle), who was added to the injury report and missed practice Thursday. In his third start of the year, O'Connell threw for over 300 yards and two TDs against the Chiefs last week, but he'll remain more of a low-end QB2 in fantasy if he's active against the Bucs this Sunday.
From RotoBaller
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Aidan O'Connell was not spotted at the start of Thursday's practice, according to ESPN's Paul Gutierrez. The second-year quarterback was not listed on Wednesday's injury report, so his absence could be a mystery until Thursday's injury report is released. O'Connell returned from the Injured Reserve list and posted 350 passing yards and two touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs on Black Friday. He is auditioning for a role next season, so any more missed games could be significant. If he's out for any reason in Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder would presumably start.
