2024 RTSports Outlook

Ali was picked by the Ravens in the fifth round of this year's draft. He doesn't land in a good spot for playing time, having some good backs ahead of him on the depth chart. He is likely No. 3 or 4 for the Ravens his rookie season. Ali is a good fit for the Ravens running game. He has good vision and does a good job of setting up his blocks. He is a good one-cut runner. Ali doesn't do much in space and lacks some elite speed.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Ali isn't a very exciting fantasy player his rookie year. He might look better in a few years. For now, expect around 200 or 300 total yards and a score or two.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Running back Rasheen Ali was selected out of Marshall in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. He's proven electric with the ball but is coming off of a torn biceps tendon suffered at the Senior Bowl, and he also missed most of 2022 due to injury as well. But he turned nearly 300 touches into 1,743 yards and 24 touchdowns in 2021 with a 212-1,135-15 rushing line as a red-shirt junior last season. Now, he's stuck behind Derrick Henry and Justice Hill on the RB depth chart but could impress out of the gate with Keaton Mitchell still recovering from a torn ACL suffered in December 2023. Still, the volume ceded to Henry and Lamar Jackson makes Ali an afterthought in most drafts. But at 5-foot-11 and 206 lbs, Ali would garner interest if Henry were unavailable. For now, he holds an RB84 half-PPR ADP and is RotoBaller's No. 77 RB.

Baltimore Ravens rookie fifth-round running back Rasheen Ali (neck) had a quiet start to training camp, struggled in short-yardage situations in the preseason opener against the Eagles and suffered what head coach John Harbaugh called a stinger. Ali hasn't been on the field since and didn't play in the second preseason game on Saturday against the Falcons. His top competitor for the No. 3 RB role, Owen Wright, caught a touchdown pass on Saturday. Ali has a lot of ground to make up on Wright this week and must first get back on the field at training camp. The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec suggests Ali isn't guaranteed a 53-man roster spot out of camp at this point, and the Ravens have cut or traded rookie fifth-round picks in two of the past three years. The 23-year-old obviously is not on the fantasy radar in redraft leagues right now.

Baltimore Ravens running back Rasheen Ali (undisclosed) sustained a stinger partway through Friday's preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Brian Wacker of the Baltimore Sun. As a result, he was absent from practice on Sunday. Ali rushed a whopping 10 times in the contest but was held to just 26 yards on the ground. He should make the 53-man roster with Keaton Mitchell (knee) on the PUP list, but he'll need a strong camp and start to the season in order to gain a firm hold on his role within the Ravens' offense. For the time being, he fills a depth spot and can be avoided in most redraft leagues.

Baltimore Ravens running back Rasheen Ali received the most touches in the backfield during the team's 16-13 loss in their preseason debut. The fifth-round pick took 10 carries for 26 yards and caught one of his three targets for four yards. He wasn't able to find much room on the ground in his first game, but he'll continue to get plenty of opportunities during the preseason while Keaton Mitchell (knee) is still on the mend. Owen Wright was the top back in this contest, but Ali will be one to watch for all of the dynasty managers out there looking for a diamond in the rough candidate.

Baltimore Ravens running back Rasheen Ali was selected in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, meaning he's not guaranteed a Week 1 roster spot. The Ravens have Derrick Henry, Justice Hill, and Keaton Mitchell (knee) on the roster, so he's likely to need to carve out a special teams role. "Ali faces a battle to find a role as a rookie," Clifton Brown of BaltimoreRavens.com wrote. "Special teams may represent Ali's best opportunity. He suffered a biceps injury at the Senior Bowl that sidelined him during rookie minicamp, but Ali was on the field for mandatory minicamp and figures to see plenty of preseason action. With Mitchell not scheduled to return until sometime during the preseason, Ali has an opportunity to provide added depth to the running back room." Ali rushed 212 times for 1,135 yards and 15 touchdowns in his final season at Marshall, and his 28 receptions for 213 yards prove he has at least some pass-catching chops, too. Ali should be on the fantasy radar in deep dynasty leagues, but it would be a surprise if he's fantasy-friendly in 2024 redraft setups.

May 5 1:10pm ET

Baltimore Ravens rookie running back Rasheen Ali (biceps), who ruptured his biceps tendon at the Senior Bowl in late January, is taking part in some of the team's rookie minicamp after the Ravens took him in the fifth round of this year's NFL draft. Head coach John Harbaugh said he expects Ali to be fully ready for training camp at the end of July. If he's healthy and doesn't suffer a setback this summer, the 23-year-old will be competing for a spot on the team's regular-season roster as RB depth. As things stand now, the Ravens RB room consists of Derrick Henry, Keaton Mitchell, Justice Hill, Owen Wright, Ali and fellow rookie Chris Collier.
