2025 RTSports Outlook

Dillon got six starts because of injury to Aaron Jones but did little when on the field. He averaged just 3.4 yards per carry and never topped 80-rushing yards in a game. Dillon finished with 836 total yards and two scores in 15 games. Dillon had five games with double-digit fantasy points. Dillon just hasn't progressed since entering the league and likely heads to more of a true backup role this year. He re-signed with the Packers, but Green Bay also signed workhorse back Josh Jacobs. It might not be quite as much of a timeshare this season for Dillon. Dillon is a big, power back that does his best work between the tackles. He is a load to bring down because of his size. He doesn't have a lot of speed to make plays on the outside but is more than capable. He is an improving pass catcher, having 20-plus receptions three straight seasons.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Dillon is not a very exciting fantasy back. He might get a few scores and total yards, but is not going to be much of a consistent help to fantasy owners, especially if Jacobs stays healthy. Dillon can get around 600 total yards and a few scores.

RotoBaller's Outlook

AJ Dillon, the Green Bay Packers' "Quadzilla" himself, was once a name that struck fear into fantasy managers facing a potential backfield committee with Aaron Jones. The situation should have looked clearer now that Jones has moved on to the Minnesota Vikings, but the offseason was not kind to Dillon. The Packers signed Josh Jacobs and drafted USC RB MarShawn Lloyd in the third round to push Dillon further down the draft charts. Dillon's yards per carry dropped to a mere 3.4, and his receiving role was virtually non-existent, with only 22 total receptions. Overall, he rushed for 613 yards on 178 attempts and two touchdowns while catching 22 passes for 223 yards over 15 games. This translated to a disappointing fantasy season, finishing as the RB42 in 2023. Despite whispers of a breakout, we all got a touchdown rate of 1.1% per carry -; a far cry from what was expected. With the Packers signing of Jacobs and the drafting of Lloyd, Dillon has been relegated to a backup role, most likely third on the depth chart behind Jacobs and Lloyd. Some might argue Dillon's power could still lead to occasional touchdowns, but with an ADP of RB61, you're gambling on a handful of scores with minimal receiving upside. Dillon's as a fantasy difference-maker is likely over. Unless injuries strike the Packers's backfield, he's best left as a deep flyer in best ball leagues. Update 08/28/24:Dillon was placed on injured reserve Tuesday and will miss the 2024 season. He was dealing with a neck stinger, ending his season before it began. Dillon will rehab and look to fully recover heading into 2025.
