Okwuegbunam played just four games with the Eagles last season and didn't catch a pass. He ended the year on Injured Reserve because of a hamstring injury. He re-signed with the team after the year and will look to earn a bigger role with the team. His career has not progressed as expected. He has one season with 33 receptions but just 21 receptions his other three seasons in the NFL. Okwuegbunam is good down the seam, using his top speed for the position. He catches the ball well and can be a tough cover because of his size/speed combination. His route running isn't the best, though, and he is only a so-so blocker.
FANTASY OUTLOOK: Okwuegbunam has the potential for some big games but needs to get his chances first. He probably isn't worth a roster spot unless injury hits. He might get 10 receptions for 100 yards.

Philadelphia Eagles tight end Albert Okwuegbunam (core) will be placed on Injured Reserve after undergoing a core-muscle repair, according to an NFL source. Okwuegbunam has a projected six- to eight-week recovery timeline from the date of his surgery and will be eligible to return this season. With the reported release of E.J. Jenkins, the Eagles will initially carry just two tight ends -- Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra. However, Jack Stoll could reunite with Philly after being released by the New York Giants. If Okwuegbunam's rehab goes well, there's a chance he could make his 2024 debut in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 13 -- the team has their bye in Week 5. The 26-year-old appeared in just four games in 2023 in his first year with the Eagles and failed to catch his only target. Albert O is miles from fantasy relevance.
