2024 RTSports Outlook

White had a great finish to his season, getting a chance to start late in the year. He had four straight gems with 13-plus fantasy points and had 100-plus rushing yards two of those games. He showed well in an expanded role, making a case to be the starter for the Raiders this season. White broke eight tackles in limited work and averaged an impressive 2.4 yards per carry after contact. He looked like a three-down back that can carry the load. White is a very strong back that does his best work between the tackles. He runs with plenty of thump. He is a work of progress in the passing game, though, but showed some potential in that area last year with his 15 receptions.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: White is an intriguing fantasy back for the coming season. He has some potential if able to land that starting job, which is possible. But for now, take him as a No. 3 back and hope for the best. He might get around 800 total yards, 25 receptions and a few scores.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Las Vegas Raiders third-year running back Zamir White was arguably the biggest fantasy football winner of the offseason. After former starter Josh Jacobs departed for the Green Bay Packers, the team chose not to make a significant investment in the position during the NFL Draft or free agency. White played well in limited action last year. He finished 14th in Next Gen Stats Rush Yards Over Expectation Per Attempt (RYOE/ATT). He averaged over 114 scrimmage yards and 23 touches per game during four starts in place of Jacobs. That kind of volume would put White on the RB1 radar. The Raiders did sign Alexander Mattison and used a sixth-round pick on rookie Dylan Laube. Mattison has never proven to be effective while Laube profiles more as a pass-catching back. The latter could limit White's overall fantasy ceiling. However, neither poses a significant threat, and White's status as the team's RB1 is secure. Poised to lead the Raiders backfield, White is a rock-solid RB2 option in all formats with RB1 upside any given week.

Las Vegas Raiders running back Zamir White stepped up last season and is in great shape heading into the 2024 season, but he will have to prove it to the coaching staff again this year and to new general manager Tom Telesco. The Raiders lost Josh Jacobs in free agency but brought in Alexander Mattison because of his fit to the new offense. The Athletic's Vic Tafur also writes that the Raiders could add another running back if either White or Mattison get off to a slow start in training camp this summer. The 24-year-old White is expected to open the season as Vegas' lead back, with Mattison filling a complementary role ahead of RB3 Ameer Abdullah. As long as he doesn't fall flat in training camp and the preseason, fantasy managers should view White as a low-end RB2/high-end RB3 as he takes on an expanded role with Jacobs out of the picture.
