2024 RTSports Outlook

Wilson had his second straight 1,000-yard season to start his career and was 26th overall in fantasy receiver scoring. And he did this once again with poor quarterback play much of the season. Aaron Rodgers was lost the first game of the year, leaving a huge hole at quarterback for the Jets to fill. Wilson still produced some pretty good numbers in an offense that struggled. He had double-digit fantasy points 11 of 17 games, showing good consistency. He also had double-digit targets nine times. Wilson had a ton of weekly looks. Things are looking up for him this year as long as Rodgers can stay healthy. Rodgers has a history of making his No. 1 receiver a huge fantasy threat. Wilson is a playmaker. He has top speed and can make a big play in a hurry. Wilson is good at making plays after the catch. He will drop a few passes, though, having 12 in two seasons.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Wilson can take his game to a new level with Rodgers throwing him passes. Wilson can be a top-10 fantasy receiver this year. Wilson can get 100-plus receptions for 1,300 yards and double-digit receptions.

RotoBaller's Outlook

2023 was supposed to be the year of Garrett Wilson. He had received a massive quarterback upgrade with future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers arriving in New York. Unfortunately, it all blew up in fantasy gamers' faces when Rodgers tore his Achilles tendon four plays into his Jets debut. Despite taking a step back and finishing as the WR32 in half PPR leagues, Wilson still boasted impressive advanced metrics. Per Fantasy Points Data Suite, Wilson had a 25% Targets Per Route Run (TPRR) and a 27% Target Share. These marks were better than what he posted as a rookie. With Rodgers expected to be fully healthy, Wilson is once again set up for a breakout season. The third-year wide receiver is already one of the premier route runners in the league and has enough juice after the catch to become a bonafide fantasy football star. As long as Rodgers remains on the field, Wilson is a good bet to yield a positive return on investment. Currently ranked as RotoBaller's WR7, Wilson can be drafted as a WR1 across all formats.

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson is ready to put a rough season behind him and bounce back in a big way this fall. According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, Wilson expressed that during the offseason, he had to "Get my feet back under me and my head right." The Ohio State product was very frustrated at the conclusion of last season and even referred to it as "The worst year of my life." In 2023, Wilson posted his second consecutive 1000-yard season, but the poor play of the Jets hurt his confidence and caused great frustration, which was often shown in public. Over his first two seasons in New York, Wilson caught passes from six different quarterbacks, which greatly affected his rhythm and ability to develop. The 23-year-old will have a great opportunity to enjoy a big season with a healthy Aaron Rodgers throwing to him, which makes him a consensus first-round selection in all drafts this summer and a strong candidate to finish near the top among all receivers.

The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt writes that the connection between New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and top wide receiver Garrett Wilson is growing during voluntary organized team activities this offseason. Wilson ran such a good route in practice on Tuesday that he wound up wide open in the middle of the field for an easy touchdown, and he had another catch on a pass from Rodgers in which he was able to adjust his body in mid-air to catch a pass that was thrown a little behind him. Wilson is "as advertised," according to new receivers coach Shawn Jefferson. "This kid can be whatever he wants to be. He has that it ... the sky is the limit for this kid." If Rodgers can stay healthy all year, Wilson will also have high-end WR1 value for fantasy managers in 2024. The former 10th overall pick has topped 1,000 yards in both his NFL seasons despite subpar QB play.

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson (neck, elbow), who suffered a neck injury in the Week 18 win over the New England Patriots in the regular season finale on Sunday, said he is fine. Wilson also said he doesn't think he needs surgery for an elbow injury that he dealt with all year. The 23-year-old was believed to have suffered a head injury when he took a hard hit in Sunday's contest, but he avoided any kind of serious injury and will have a normal offseason as he heads into his third NFL season. Despite losing quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a torn Achilles in Week 1, Wilson finished with 95 catches for 1,042 yards and three touchdowns in 2023. His 168 targets ranked fourth among all wideouts. With more stability under center hopefully in 2024, the sky is the limit for Wilson.

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson (head) exited during the second half of Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. He is being evaluated for a concussion. At the time of his departure, the second-year wideout had caught just two of five targets for 23 yards. Snow, wind, and poor quarterback play have negatively impacted Wilson and the rest of his pass-catching teammates. Xavier Gipson and Jason Brownlee are next up on the depth chart, but neither of them has any appeal in redraft leagues.
