Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton was quiet during the season opener against the Washington Commanders last week. A majority of the Bucs' offensive weapons enjoyed successful games, but Otton was held in check. He hauled in one of his two targets for five yards in the blowout win. The third-year tight end was supposed to have a bigger role under new offensive coordinator Liam Coen and his two tight end sets. Possibly, Otton's luck does change in Week 2 against the Detroit Lions. However, the Bucs have a handful of other viable options on offense, so Otton is unlikely to be targeted often. He'll be a low-end TE2 and avoidable in most fantasy formats.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton looks to take a step forward after back-to-back lackluster seasons to begin his career. The 25-year-old finished with 47 receptions for 455 yards with four touchdowns in 17 games with the Bucs last season. The talent is there, but Otton is too far back on the pecking order in Tampa Bay. At this point, Otton might be the fourth or fifth option in the passing game, which doesn't bode well for his fantasy value. Luckily, Otton does have a favorable matchup against the Washington Commanders in Week 1. A defensive unit that allowed the most passing yards in the league last season. Despite that, Otton is nothing more than a TE2 for Week 1.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton could be utilized differently under new offensive coordinator Liam Coen. This new system is reportedly going to have a bunch of shifts and motions to bait defenses. It's structured to give playmakers space and create advantages in matchups. Otton praised this scheme and said it allows players to do what they do best. It sounds like this new system gives players some freedom which could be a good thing for the Bucs offense. Otton has 89 receptions for 846 yards and six touchdowns through his first two seasons in Tampa Bay. Possibly, this new scheme will help Otton improve his game and find new ways of getting open and making plays.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles recognized tight end Cade Otton for his durability and willingness to learn multiple systems, according to Luke Easterling of Bucs Wire. "His durability has been outstanding," Bowles recently said. "We've called on him a lot as a rookie. It's hard to believe he's only a third-year guy coming up. His durability has been outstanding and he's had different coordinators each year, so his ability to adapt and learn, He's had different coaches, it's not like he's had the same position coach or had the same offensive coordinator. So, to learn different things and tweak his game to fit what we needed him to do is outstanding." The 25-year-old tight end is looking to build on a campaign in which he caught 47 passes for 455 yards and four touchdowns. He's the top tight end in Tampa Bay, and although he'll lose plenty of volume to Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Rachaad White, he' still a mid-range TE2 for fantasy purposes.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton impressed during practice on Tuesday. According to Bailey Adams of Pewter Report, Otton "was arguably the offensive player of the day" as he made a sideline catch in 11-on-11s and shortly after showed off a one-handed grab down the field. He was one of Baker Mayfield's most targeted and trusted pass-catchers, perhaps offering a glimpse into what the 2024 season could look like. The 25-year-old tight end is looking to build on a campaign in which he caught 47 passes for 455 yards and four touchdowns. He's the top tight end in Tampa Bay, and although he'll lose plenty of volume to Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Rachaad White, he' still a mid-range TE2 for fantasy purposes.
