2024 RTSports Outlook

Nacua had one of the best rookie receiver seasons of a time, which was a surprise considering he was a fifth-round pick. Nacua was fourth overall in fantasy receiver scoring, winning a lot of fantasy leagues because he was undrafted in a lot of formats. That won't be the case this coming year. He will be one of the first receivers off the board. Nacua had 105 receptions for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns. He had double-digit fantasy points all but four games. He had seven games with 20-plus fantasy points, putting up some huge weekly point totals. Nacua moved ahead of Cooper Kupp when it comes to looks in the Rams offense. He is the top target now. The only negative for Nacua last year was drops. Nacua got a ton of targets (160) but did led the league in drops with 13. He will need to get better in that area if he hopes to be considered one of the best receivers in football. Nacua is already one of the top possession receivers in the game that just has a knack for getting open. He is a very good athlete. He lacks a little speed, but that didn't hold him back at all last year. He still made plenty of big plays and averaged an impressive 14.2 yards per reception.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Nacua won't be overlooked this year. He is a top-10 fantasy receiver, capable of huge things in this offense. He will get a ton of weekly targets, making him a great No. 1 for fantasy teams. Look for similar numbers to last year, getting around 110 catches for 1,500 yards and eight touchdowns. It was not a fluke last season for Nacua.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Puka Nacua was one of the biggest steals in fantasy football last season. With Cooper Kupp sidelined for the first four weeks of the season, the BYU rookie saw 52 targets in his first four NFL games. In Week 2, he caught 15 balls for 147 yards on 20 targets. Despite scoring just one touchdown in those games, he was WR4 on a per-game basis through Week 4 with 23.9 PPR fantasy points per game. Playing with Kupp from Week 5 on, Nacua was the WR12. He still saw 8.5 targets per game and hit the 100-yard mark in four games of 13 games playing alongside Kupp. When you look at Nacau and Kupp's yards per route run (YPRR) last season, Nacua was 6th among wide receivers with a 2.72 YPRR while Kupp was 32nd among wide receivers with a 1.99 YPRR. This is significant because Kupp was 1st in that metric in 2021 (3.33) and 7th in 2022 (2.61). At 30+ years old, it appears Kupp has handed the torch off to the much younger Nacua. That hand-off should only continue in 2024. Consider Nacua a top-10 wide receiver with top-5 upside with some expected positive touchdown regression after scoring just six on 160 targets as a rookie.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua came out of nowhere and delivered arguably the greatest season for a rookie pass-catcher ever. The BYU product caught 105 passes for 1,486 yards and six touchdowns in the regular season and posted 181 yards in his first playoff game. However, the Rams believe he's in better shape and could make strides in Year 2. "His body is totally different," wide receiver coach Eric Yarber said. "He looks just like Cooper. He's lost so much body fat and gained so much lean muscle, which enabled him to move more efficiently now. And he has better body control. But he did exactly what I said. And you're seeing some of the results right now." The 23-year-old was a top-four wideout in PPR leagues last season, and it sounds like he's doing the right things to remain a fantasy football WR1. Although he might see some regression with a fully healthy Cooper Kupp, he should maintain his spike-week upside.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is coming off arguably the greatest rookie season ever for a wideout. He posted 105 receptions for 1,468 yards and six touchdowns, and he set a rookie record for receiving yards in a postseason game (181). It's difficult to project a better season of production in Year 2, but Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur said he has improved this offseason. "You can definitely see he's made strides. He's moving better. I know he feels more comfortable," LaFleur said. "He's in year two and that's what you expect from all the players, but you know that you're going to get it from Puka because he's just made of the right stuff." Nacua is being drafted as a mid-to-late first-round pick in PPR leagues, and if Cooper Kupp takes another step back, he could compete for an overall WR1 finish in fantasy football. Los Angeles did not add legitimate target competition in free agency or the 2024 NFL Draft.

Los Angeles Rams' WR Puka Nacua scored an impressive 33.10 fantasy points in Sunday's playoff loss in Detroit. Nacua caught nine passes for 181 yards with one touchdown. Nacua scored at least 25 fantasy points four times during the regular season.

Jan 15 4:50am ET

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua dominated in the team's 24-23 wildcard loss to the Detroit Lions. Nacua caught nine of his 10 targets for 181 receiving yards and a 50-yard first-half touchdown. He also rushed the ball once for a loss of two yards. The 5th-round rookie set yet another record as he finished with the most receiving by a rookie WR in a playoff game. Despite his season coming to an end, Nacua continued to prove himself as one of the most dangerous receivers in all of football. Heading into next season, fantasy players should consider him in the first three rounds of drafts and ahead of Cooper Kupp.

Rams' WR Puka Nacua had 9 receptions for 181 yards with one touchdown for an astounding 20.1 yards per catch in Sunday's loss in Detroit.

Jan 14 5:00am ET

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua had one of the most dominant rookie seasons we have seen from a wide receiver. The 5th-round draft pick broke a pair of records as he ended with the most receptions and receiving yards by a rookie in a single season. He finished as a top-five fantasy receiver and won many their fantasy leagues. Nacua will now face the Detroit Lions on Sunday, who have allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers this season. Play him confidently in all DFS lineups as he has the potential to torch the Lions' defense.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua played more than expected in the team's Week 18 win against the San Francisco 49ers. Nacua caught four of his six targets for 41 yards and a first-quarter touchdown. While the rest of the starters on the team sat, Nacua was active to make some history. The 5th-round rookie had to play into the second half but eventually broke the single-season rookie yardage and reception records. He ended his historic season with 105 receptions for 1486 receiving yards and six touchdowns. As always, Nacua should be considered in all DFS lineups as he faces the Detroit Lions next week.

From RotoBaller

Jan 7 4:50am ET

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua will play in Week 18 despite the majority of the team's starters sitting. Nacua will be playing for one reason and that is to set rookie records. The 5th-round pick is just 29 receiving yards away from breaking the single-season rookie receiving record, set by Bill Groman in 1960. He is also just four receptions away from setting the record for most receptions by a rookie in a single season, set by Jaylen Waddle just two seasons ago. While Nacua may very well only play until he locks in the records, he has a reasonably high floor and should be played against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 18.
