Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott announced on Wednesday that there is no decision regarding the availability of new wide receiver Amari Cooper on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Cooper was traded to the Bills from the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday for a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick. Whenever players arrive at a new team in the middle of the week, it is usually up in the air whether they will play. Once he takes the field, Cooper should immediately step into a role as the No. 1 wide receiver for a Josh Allen-led offense. Cooper has caught 24 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns thus far in 2024. He has struggled due to poor play from quarterback Deshaun Watson. However, Cooper is only one year removed from a 72-reception, 1,250-yard, and five-touchdown season. He should be able to produce those types of numbers once again once he is up to speed in the Bills offense. Cooper should be a WR2 in fantasy for the rest of the season.

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper was traded to the Buffalo Bills along with a 2025 sixth-round draft choice in exchange for a 2025 third-round draft choice and a 2026 seventh-round draft choice on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Fantasy Spin: The Browns prepared for this eventuality in the offseason when they significantly lowered Cooper's base salary. Through six weeks in one of the worst offenses in football, Cooper was tied for seventh in the league in targets (53) but ranked only 37th in catches (24) thanks to some horrible quarterback play. That will change now in Buffalo. As for Cleveland, David Njoku, Jerry Jeudy and Elijah Moore will move into more prominent roles, although it is debatable if increased target shares will actually help their cause all that much. It is also quite possible that the Browns lean more heavily on the run moving forward with Nick Chubb (knee) expected back in the next week or two.

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper was traded to the Buffalo Bills along with a 2025 sixth-round draft choice in exchange for a 2025 third-round draft choice and a 2026 seventh-round draft choice on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Fantasy Spin: On the same day Davante Adams gets dealt to the New York Jets, the Bills counter with an alpha receiver of their own who should get a new lease on his football life going from one of the worst or back situations in the league to the one of the best. It will inevitably take some time for Cooper to get acclimated to a new offense, but he should eventually emerge as the alpha receiver in a Josh Allen-led offense and push Khalil Shakir into a more comfortable complementary role. Fantasy managers who have been stuck with a lot of high-target, low-production games from Cooper this year are about to get a reprieve. Cooper may not move into fantasy WR1 territory this season, but he could come close.

Oct 15 2:20pm ET

The Buffalo Bills are trading for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper, according to NFL insider Ari Meirov. Cooper has been rumored to be on the trade block following a slow start to the season for quarterback Deshaun Watson and the Browns, and he's now set to play with Josh Allen in Buffalo. The five-time Pro Bowl pass-catcher has six seasons of at least 1,000 receiving yards on his resume between his time with the Raiders, Cowboys, and Browns. He will provide an immediate upgrade for quarterback Josh Allen, as the Buffalo passing offense has registered just 186.3 yards per game. Cooper's fantasy stock is on the rise, while wideouts Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, and Curtis Samuel, and tight end Dalton Kincaid are now set to face enhanced target competition and will be downgraded in the rest-of-season rankings.

Oct 13 4:33pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper caught four passes for 42 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6. He was targeted six times during the game.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper continues to be the top target in the passing game for the Browns but has posted over 50 yards in only two of the six games this season. He will continue to receive a good amount of targets each game but may only be a flex option in leagues because of the Browns passing game.

From TheHuddle

Oct 13 4:30pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper caught four of his six targets for 42 yards in a 20-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6. Cooper turned in another pedestrian outing in the loss to the Eagles as he has been held to 42 yards or fewer in four of his six games played and has gone over 10.0 PPR fantasy points just once all season. The veteran wide receiver's name has come up as a possible trade candidate with the Browns sitting at 1-5 on the season and a trade to a contender could be a path to unlocking some fantasy value for Cooper for the remainder of the season. As it stands, he will be a boom/bust WR3 heading into a Week 7 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

From RotoBaller

Oct 11 11:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper has logged at least eight targets in all five games this season, and his 47 targets entering Week 6 were tied for the third most in the league.

Fantasy Spin: While Cooper has seen the ball thrown his way a lot this year, the usage has only translated into 20 receptions for 208 yards. With Deshaun Watson struggling to throw the ball down the field to any degree, Cooper is no more than a flex option.

From TheHuddle

Oct 11 4:53pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (rest) practiced in full for the second straight day on Friday, Oct. 11, and was removed from the injury report.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper is a borderline WR1 play when he has competent quarterback play, but his quarterback is Deshaun Watson. Even still, we've seen Cooper post big games with the struggling quarterback before, so it is possible. Consider Cooper a boom-or-bust flex option in Week 6.

From TheHuddle

Oct 11 4:43pm ET

Cleveland Browns S Ronnie Hickman (ankle), OT James Hudson (shoulder), S Grant Delpit (concussion) and C Ethan Pocic (knee) did not practice on Friday, Oct. 11, and were ruled out for Week 6. Also, RB Nyheim Hines (knee) and RB Nick Chubb (knee) were limited but have been ruled out, LB Jordan Hicks (elbow, triceps) and CB Denzel Ward (hamstring) were limited and are questionable, LB Mohamoud Diabate (hip) and DT Maurice Hurst (ankle) practiced in full but are questionable, TE David Njoku (knee, ankle) and DE Za'Darius Smith (ankle) were limited but carry no designation, and OT Jack Conklin (hamstring), WR Amari Cooper (rest), RB D'Onta Foreman (ankle), DE Myles Garrett (Achilles), WR Jerry Jeudy (knee), DE Ogbo Okoronkwo (illness), RB Pierre Strong (hamstring), OT Jedrick Wills (knee) and OG Zak Zinter (knee) practiced in full and were removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Oct 11 3:50pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper has struggled with drops and a lack of production for the majority of the 2024 season, going over 35 receiving yards just twice in five games. He will look to shake off his slow start in a road matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6. Cooper did not practice on Wednesday but it was just a veteran rest day and was not injury related. The Eagles have been very generous to opposing wideouts this season, allowing the most fantasy points per game to the position through four games. It remains to be seen whether Cooper and a struggling Deshaun Watson will be able to capitalize on this plus matchup, however, as they disappointed last week against a Washington Commanders secondary that is allowing the second-most fantasy points per game. Cooper is on the radar as a WR3 in fantasy but he will be hard to trust as much more than that despite the excellent matchup.

From RotoBaller

Oct 10 6:33pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 10.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper has been the main option of the Browns this season and should continue to see a good amount of targets in Week 6. He can be at least a flex option in fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 9 8:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper (non-injury) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper has been targeted at least eight times in every game so far this season and should continue to see a good amount of targets. The Browns passing game has not had a lot of success, but he can still be at least a flex option in leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 6 6:00pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper caught four of his 10 targets for 60 yards in a 34-13 loss to the Washington Commanders in Week 5. Cooper turned in a solid afternoon, although it comes as a bit of a disappointment as he failed to capitalize on an excellent matchup against a leaky Washington secondary. That being said, the veteran at least bounced back after going for just 35 receiving yards in Week 4 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Cooper has struggled with drops this season, which, coupled with a struggling Cleveland offense, has made him a risky weekly play in fantasy leagues. He will likely settle in as a low-end WR3 in Week 6's road matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

From RotoBaller

Oct 6 5:33pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper ended up with game highs of four receptions, 60 yards and 10 targets in Week 5 against the Washington Commanders.

Fantasy Spin: The fantasy stat line wasn't huge, but Cooper was at least able to give his fantasy managers something on a day the Cleveland pass attack was rather marginal again. Cooper has been posting WR4 or flex kind of numbers most of the season, and he should be treated as such in Week 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

From TheHuddle

Oct 5 1:10pm ET

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler speculates that the Cleveland Browns could receive a lot of interest from other teams in wide receiver Amari Cooper as the trade deadline nearly in early November. The Browns aren't believed to be shopping Cooper right now, but he's attractive from a salary standpoint after the Browns reworked his contract. Fowler also lists Carolina Panthers receiver Diontae Johnson as a name to watch at the deadline if the Panthers continue to lose. The Tennessee Titans' DeAndre Hopkins may be another name to keep an eye on. Outside of his seven-catch, 86-yard, two-touchdown performance in Week 3 against the New York Giants, Cooper has left fantasy managers wanting more in 2024 in what has been an ugly looking Browns offense. Perhaps a change of scenery is best for Cooper moving forward. In his other three games, he has a combined nine catches for 62 yards.

From RotoBaller

Oct 5 12:43pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper could be moved before the NFL trade deadline if the team continues to struggle, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Fantasy Spin: Although Fowler does not believe that the Browns are actively shopping Cooper, he is earning a base salary of just $1.2 million this season after having his deal restructured, making him an affordable option for NFL clubs looking to bolster their receiving corps. Cooper has 16 receptions for 148 yards and two touchdowns through his first four games and can be used as a flex option in deeper fantasy leagues.

From TheHuddle

Oct 4 7:20pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper has mostly struggled in 2024 as he has hit double-digit PPR points just once in four games. He will look to rectify that in Week 5's road matchup against the Washington Commanders. The Commanders could be just what a struggling Browns offense ordered as they have struggled to slow down passing attacks in 2024. Washington is allowing the most fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts while allowing at least one touchdown catch to go to a wide receiver in all four of their games. The Cooper-Deshaun Watson connection should be able to take advantage of the soft matchup and can be treated as a mid-range WR1 in fantasy this weekend.

From RotoBaller

Sep 29 9:33pm ET

Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper had four receptions for 35 yards on eight targets in Week 4 against the Las Vegas Raiders, his original NFL team. He appeared to have a touchdown of other 80 yards, but a holding call wiped it out.

Fantasy Spin: Cooper has been targeted at least eight times in all four games. That's the good news. The bad news is that he isn't on the same page with Deshaun Watson, for whatever reason, going for 35 or fewer receiving yards in three of his four games. He is more of a low-end WR4 or flex fantasy option in leagues of 12 or more teams at this point. The Browns travel to meet the Washington Commanders in Week 5.

From TheHuddle

Sep 29 9:30pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper caught four of his eight targets for 35 yards in a 20-16 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4. Cooper could have had a much bigger afternoon but he had an 82-yard touchdown catch wiped away thanks to a holding penalty on center Nick Harris. As has been the case multiple times this season, Cooper also committed another tough drop, this time allowing an on-target pass to slip through his hands into a defender's for an interception. Cooper now has 16 catches for 148 yards and two touchdowns through four games. Despite struggling in three of his four games in 2024, Cooper will be a strong fantasy play against a weak Washington Commanders secondary in Week 5.

From RotoBaller

Sep 27 7:00pm ET

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper shook off a slow start to the season to catch two touchdowns in a Week 3 loss to the New York Giants. Cooper will look to do more damage in a road matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 4. The Raiders have been generous to fantasy wideouts in 2024, allowing the 10th-most fantasy points per game to the position thus far. Cooper has been pretty boom/bust in this current iteration of the Cleveland offense but the matchup is good and he remains the No. 1 option in the passing attack for the Browns. Treat Cooper as a low-end WR2 heading into Week 4 against Las Vegas.
