Dynasty | Free agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers is reportedly looking for a good team to sign on with if he continues playing. Dynasty Analysis: Well, that seemed obvious from the start. Rodgers seems willing to keep playing but it's unclear if any competitive teams would honestly even want him. His up-and-down play combined with his off-the-field attention may just be too much for someone to stomach. However, it only takes one and a team like Pittsburgh or the Rams (should they move on from Matthew Stafford) could make sense. Regardless, Rodgers' dynasty value has pretty much cratered.
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who will eventually be released by the Jets this offseason, is looking to play again in 2025 and wants to play for a contender, according to NFL.com's Kevin Patra. When asked what Rodgers is looking for in his next team, he said, "If they got a good team." The 41-year-old four-time MVP tore his Achilles in Week 1 in 2023 and was inconsistent for the Jets in 2024, so it remains to be seen if any contending teams will actually want to sign him this offseason. The teams that are in the market for a veteran QB, such as the Las Vegas Raiders and Cleveland Browns, aren't exactly good teams. The future Hall of Famer might have to wait until after the draft in April until later this offseason to figure out the best situation that suits him after throwing for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 17 games in his final year with Gang Green.

ESPN's Adam Schefter believes that New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is expected to be a post-June 1 cut by the Jets, would be thrilled by the idea of going to the Los Angeles Rams to play for head coach Sean McVay. However, for that to even be a possibility, the Rams and current QB Matthew Stafford would have to fail to work out a contract restructure for 2025 and then trade him to another team. L.A. would probably be able to sign Rodgers for a lower cost than what they'd have to pay Stafford, but that's assuming McVay and the Rams' front office would even want a 41-year-old aging QB that is probably heading into the final year of his career. Rodgers tore his Achilles in Week 1 of 2023 and threw for 3,897 yards, 28 TDs and 11 interceptions in a disappointing 2024 campaign for the Jets. There's no guarantee he'll be any better if he plays at all in 2025 for a different organization.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford and the team have had multiple discussions about upgrading Stafford's contract, which calls for him to make $35 million in 2025 - none of which is guaranteed. However, in the opinion of ESPN's Adam Schefter, former New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers would be 'thrilled with the idea of going to Los Angeles' if Stafford is traded.
Fantasy Spin: Schefter makes it clear there are plenty of "ifs" in his statement, but it is conceivable that the Rams and Stafford cannot agree on a number that makes both parties happy and the team is forced to trade their quarterback. This hypothetical assumes Rodgers would agree to take less money than Stafford is owed, which is already below the going rate for quarterbacks in 2025. Rodgers would be a popular bounce-back candidate under head coach Sean McVay, although his fantasy ceiling at this point of his career is probably as a middling QB2.

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers told new head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey that it was his tentative plan to play again in 2025, according to SI.com's Albert Breer. Rodgers gave the Jets the impression that he had unfinished business to take care of after a disappointing 2024 campaign in which the Jets missed the playoffs. The Jets have already decided to turn the page on the Rodgers era, though, and he's expected to be designated as a post-June 1 cut. The Jets believe Rodgers still has gas left in the tank, but he will have to join another organization this offseason to play one more season in the NFL. It remains to be seen if any teams will want Rodgers, but his best option could be joining up with new head coach Pete Carroll in Las Vegas with the Raiders. The Los Angeles Rams could be another option if they trade Matthew Stafford.
From RotoBaller
Former New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers is not expected to receive much interest from the New York Giants this offseason, according to the New York Post's Paul Schwartz.
Fantasy Spin: The Giants will be looking for a starting quarterback during the offseason but probably have other options in mind and will avoid Rodgers. Some teams in need of a starter probably will pursue Rodgers, but he will be No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts.

Dynasty | The Jets have informed Aaron Rodgers of his release. Dynasty Analysis: The combination of Rodgers being woefully ineffective and apparently unwilling to conform to the expectations of a new regime led to this expected outcome. Rodgers was apparently given some new parameters to abide by, including attending more off-season activities and staying away from his controversial media appearances on multiple shows. Rodgers clearly balked at these new expectations and that left the Jets little choice. As for A-Rod, he'll be a true free agent for the first time in his career. Unfortunately, it's hard to see many teams looking at him as a viable starter after he's proven to be a shell of his former self the past year or so. This ultimately could be the end. Rodgers is still roster worthy at the moment, but that could change soon.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the New York Jets have officially informed quarterback Aaron Rodgers that they are moving in another direction, and he'll be a free agent. This was the expectation for Rodgers after the Jets brought in a new general manager and head coach following a disappointing 2024 season in which the team once again missed the playoffs. The 41-year-old tore his Achilles in Week 1 of the 2023 season and finished 2024 with 3,897 passing yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 17 games and failed to ignite the offense like the Jets thought he would when they initially signed him. The four-time MVP and future Hall of Famer was willing to stay with the Jets for another season, but now that they are moving on, it remains to be seen if he'll want to continue playing. If he does, several teams could be interested in a one-year deal for Rodgers to serve as a bridge QB.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers is expected to be released with a post-June 1 designation, according to sources Thursday, Feb. 13.
Fantasy Spin: Rodgers will officially be a free agent and should have a handful of potential suitors if he decides to keep playing. Considering the likely landing spots, Rodgers' fantasy value remains that of a QB2.
From TheHuddle
The New York Jets are fully expected to move on from quarterback Aaron Rodgers in 2025, but The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that the team presented the future Hall of Famer with a plan to move forward with him as their QB. The Jets' plan included stipulations about outside media work during the season and required that he attend all mandatory offseason workouts, according to team and league sources. Specifically, Rodgers would no longer be allowed to make regular, paid appearances on "The Pat McAfee Show." Apparently, Rodgers wasn't inclined to agree with those stipulations, and the Jets are expected to release the 41-year-old, who still has one year left on his contract. If the four-time MVP chooses to return for a 21st year in the NFL, it will be with another organization. Rodgers' two-year run in New York was highly disappointing after he tore his Achilles in Week 1 in 2023.

Dynasty | The Jets have reportedly informed Aaron Rodgers he's no longer part of their future plans. Dynasty Analysis: This was always the likely case after Rodgers failed to elevate the team. He'll apparently be joined on the market with Davante Adams, who was good for New York down the stretch but also doesn't fit their rebuilding timeline. The Jets swung and missed big with Rodgers, who famously tore his Achilles in his first game last season, then went on to look like a shell of his former self most of this season. Retirement seems likely for Rodgers, but he could be a bridge option out there for someone should he choose to continue playing.
New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers recently met with the Jets front office and has been informed that they will not be bringing him back next season.
Fantasy Spin: Rodgers likely will receive interest from a few teams this offseason if he hits the free-agent market and likely will be a starter if he decides to play in 2025. He posted good numbers this season but likely will be a No. 2 quarterback in fantasy leagues.
From TheHuddle
The New York Jets will continue to have further discussions, but sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz that the overwhelming belief is that the team is unlikely to move forward with Aaron Rodgers as their quarterback in 2025. Most folks are expecting the Jets' new regime, led by first-time head coach Aaron Glenn, to go for a fresh start. A resolution is expected sooner than later. After tearing his Achilles on the first offensive series of the year in 2023, the 41-year-old Rodgers returned in 2024 and was unable to capture his previous Pro Bowl form. Although the future Hall of Famer did throw four touchdowns in the regular-season finale to reach 500 for his career, he ultimately was a disappointment, completing only 63% of his passes for 3,879 yards, 28 TDs and 11 interceptions. Rodgers has said he'd like to play again in 2025, but it looks like it won't be in New York.
From RotoBaller
The New York Jets have been in ongoing discussions with QB Aaron Rodgers regarding his future and a decision on whether he will return to the team next season could come as soon as this upcoming week, according to multiple sources.
Fantasy Spin: New head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey appear to have a great deal of respect for Rodgers but he would probably need to take a pay cut from his scheduled 2025 base salary of $37.5 million to remain with the Jets. He would also likely need to dedicate significant time to the team's offseason program, especially with a new offensive coordinator. Assuming that the 41-year-old Rodgers decides to continue playing next season, he should be viewed as a QB2 option in fantasy leagues regardless of where he winds up.
From TheHuddle
During his introductory press conference, New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn was cryptic regarding quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his future with the team. "We've already [had] communication with [him]," said Glenn. "As we continue to look at the roster, we'll make decisions accordingly, and that's with a number of people on the team." Rodgers noted a few weeks ago that he needs some time away to reflect, but he did appear open to returning to the Jets if they'd have him. Whether the 41-year-old will be back with the team remains to be seen, but their new head coach is on record stating he plans to meet with the veteran QB soon and "will definitely come up with a decision much sooner than later. I don't wanna drag this out." Hopefully, Rodgers is of the same sentiment.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers' future with the team is uncertain at this point, but head coach Aaron Glenn is believed to be open to having Rodgers return to the Jets in 2025.
Fantasy Spin: Fantasy players will need to monitor the situation to see if Rodgers wants to play next season and where he will be if he continues playing. He had a solid 2024 season but will be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback in leagues next season if he plays.
From TheHuddle
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is open to returning to the team in 2025 after they hired Aaron Glenn as their next head coach this week. However, Rodgers has made it clear that the ultimate decision on whether he returns will be up to Glenn and new general manager Darren Mougey. It helps, though, that Glenn is reportedly open to Rodgers returning as well, but the organization will now have conversations about whether a reunion is in the cards for the 2025 season. The 41-year-old has one more deal left on the three-year contract he signed with the Jets before the 2023 season. He's obviously not the long-term answer, but the Jets might be willing to run it back with the future Hall of Famer for one more year while a rookie QB sits on the sidelines and learns from him. If Rodgers returns, he'll be an injury risk as a QB2 in fantasy with limited upside.
From RotoBaller
New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers had a league-high 39 of his passes dropped in 2024, according to Pro Football Reference.
Fantasy Spin: Rodgers may no longer be playing at a league MVP level, but the 39 drops - seven more than the next closest quarterback - is a ridiculous number for a signal-caller with the caliber of weapons New York had this season. Breece Hall (nine), Garrett Wilson (seven) and Allen Lazard (six) were among the most common culprits. The Jets have many questions entering the offseason, including whether Rodgers will remain with the team. If Rodgers chooses to play one more year, he will be no more than a middling QB2 option.
From TheHuddle
The New York Jets have hired Darren Mougey as their new general manager. As expected, Mougey will get the job after getting multiple interviews with the team. Mougey has been the assistant general manager of the Denver Broncos since 2022. However, Mougey has been with the Broncos organization for over a decade. This will certainly be an interesting situation for Mougey given the Jets roster seems ready to compete, but they lack a legitimate franchise quarterback. It remains to be seen if Aaron Rodgers is going to come back with Mougey in charge now.
From RotoBaller
According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has an uncertain future with the team with new head coach Aaron Glenn. Cimini reported that, unlike the previous Jets coaching staff with Nathaniel Hackett, Rodgers has no direct ties with Glenn. Entering his age-41 season could encourage the Jets to look elsewhere as they attempt to rebuild their roster. Cimini noted that given his age, it would be "loathsome" for an older player to learn a new scheme and would be out of his "comfort zone." However, given the current state of the quarterback market, it may be challenging to find someone as skilled as Rodgers. Despite coming off a torn Achilles, Rodgers started all 18 games for the Jets and averaged 229.2 passing yards per game with a 28:11 TD:INT ratio. Over the final five games, Rodgers began to turn the corner as he averaged 254 passing yards per game. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor this situation during the offseason as it will impact the outlook of the entire offense.
