Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb ran 16 times for 52 yards in a Week 8 win over the Baltimore Ravens while handling all but five of the running-back carries. He will look to continue to dominate the work in the backfield for Cleveland in a Week 9 home matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers have been tough against running backs this season, allowing the second-fewest fantasy points per game to the position thus far. The Cleveland offense looked resurgent under Jameis Winston last week but fantasy gamers should still temper expectations for Chubb thanks to the difficult matchup. Treat him as a high-end RB3 for Week 9.

Oct 27 8:40pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb carried the ball 16 times for 52 yards while failing to haul in either of his two targets in a 29-24 win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8. Chubb, playing in his second game of the season, ran harder and looked more decisive than he did in his season debut last week as he gets further removed from a 2023 torn ACL. While he didn't find the end zone, the entire Cleveland offense looked the best they have all season with Jameis Winston making his first start of the season. That fact bodes well for Chubb's rest of season outlook in fantasy as he will benefit from a functional offense around him. Treat Chubb as a solid RB3 heading into Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Oct 27 5:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb rushed 16 times for 52 yards in Week 8 against the Baltimore Ravens, and he did not have a catch on two targets.

Fantasy Spin: The good news is that Chubb was able to rack up 16 touches, and he made it through the game without any setbacks. He has 74 rushing yards for just 27 runs so far through two games, while adding just one catch last week. Treat Chubb more as a low-end RB3 or flex fantasy option in leagues of 12 or more teams until he gets into gear. He has a difficult matchup in Week 9 against the Los Angeles Chargers, so be careful.

Oct 25 6:50pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb made a triumphant return to the field last week as he scored a touchdown in his first game in over a year. He will look to keep it going in Week 8's home game against the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens have been very beatable through the air this season but they have been tough against the run, allowing the 20th-most fantasy points per game to running backs thus far. Chubb should get the majority of the work on early downs but he still settles in as an RB3 in fantasy thanks to the challenging matchup.

Oct 20 9:50pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb carried the ball 11 times for 22 yards and a touchdown while adding a 10-yard catch in a 21-14 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7. Chubb was playing for the first time since he tore his ACL in Week 2 of the 2023 season and received a thunderous ovation from the home crowd before the game. The veteran tailback did not disappoint as he punched in a one-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Cleveland went away from him in the second half as they went very pass-heavy, giving Chubb just one carry after halftime. The veteran running back should see his workload ramp up in the coming weeks as he works his way back into game shape. He will be an RB3 heading into Week 8 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Dynasty | Browns running back Nick Chubb had 22 rushing yards, one catch, ten receiving yards and a touchdown in a loss to the Bengals. Dynasty Analysis: Most importantly, Chubb entered and left the game healthy. The Browns are in the midst of a terrible season, sitting at 1-6 and having just likely lost their quarterback for the season. It was great to see Chubb back, but it's also fair to wonder just what he's going to be able to do if the Browns can't do something in the passing game. He'll remain a flex play moving forward, though it was encouraged to see him get 11 of the 16 running back carries.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Oct 20 6:23pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb rushed 11 times for just 22 yards and a touchdown in his season debut in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Fantasy Spin: Chubb was playing his first game since suffering a gruesome knee injury in Week 2 at Pittsburgh last season. The touchdown was nice, but he averaged just 2.0 yards per carry. There was certain to be rust after such a long layoff, however. He can safely be used as a RB3 or flex fantasy option for Week 8 against Baltimore, and he obviously could be back to RB2 status before too long. Give him time to work back into game shape before expecting too much from a fantasy perspective.

Oct 20 11:53am ET

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) is officially active for the Week 7 game.

Fantasy Spin: Chubb probably will see a limited workload this week since he has not played since last season but could still be a possible flex option in some fantasy leagues. He should have more fantasy value as the season goes on.

From TheHuddle

Oct 20 11:50am ET

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (knee) is officially active for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7. He had been listed as questionable but was expected to play after being activated from the PUP list on Saturday. Chubb will make his season debut this week, just over one year after a gruesome injury that tore numerous ligaments and abruptly ended his 2023 campaign. The 28-year-old is likely headed for a reduced role as the Browns phase him back into the offense, but there are plenty of touches available to him with Jerome Ford (hamstring) sidelined. Chubb figures to split time with D'Onta Foreman on Sunday, and Pierre Strong Jr. could also see some work. Given the poor state of Cleveland's offense, it's tough to justify starting any of their running backs in 12-team fantasy leagues this week.

Dynasty | The Browns have activated running back Nick Chubb. Dynasty Analysis: Chubb will make his much-anticipated return in week seven against the Bengals. His presence will be a welcome one by a Browns team that's 1-5 and flailing miserably. Cleveland traded Amari Cooper this week and Deshaun Watson looks like an absolute shell of himself, so anything the Browns get from Chubb will be important. Dynasty managers should be cautious as his role is likely not going to be a huge one for a few weeks. Still, it will certainly be nice to see him back after last year's gruesome injury.

Oct 19 2:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) was activated from the physically unable to perform list on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Fantasy Spin: Chubb will finally make his return to the field in Week 7, although temper expectations in his first game back, as it's possible the Browns will limit his workload. For now, Chubb is a touchdown-dependent flex.

From TheHuddle

Oct 19 12:40pm ET

The Cleveland Browns announced on Saturday that they have officially activated running back Nick Chubb (knee) from Injured Reserve ahead of their Week 7 divisional contest on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Browns listed Chubb as questionable to play on their final injury report on Friday, but the 28-year-old is fully expected to be active this weekend. How much Chubb will see the field will be a different story, and we expect Cleveland to ease him back in since he hasn't played since Week 2 of last year, when he suffered a gruesome season-ending knee injury in which he tore multiple ligaments. Chubb will see work against Cincy, but D'Onta Foreman and Pierre Strong Jr. will likely spell him often, making him a volatile RB3/flex in his first game of 2024. Meanwhile, Jerome Ford (hamstring) has been ruled out, and his fantasy value has now tanked now that Chubb is back in the fold.

From RotoBaller

Oct 18 4:13pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford (hamstring) and S Ronnie Hickman (ankle) did not practice on Friday, Oct. 18, and were ruled out for Week 7. Also, C Ethan Pocic (knee) and S Juan Thornhill (calf) were limited and are questionable, CB Denzel Ward (hamstring) was limited but carries no designation, LB Jordan Hicks (triceps, elbow), RB Nyheim Hines (knee) and RB Nick Chubb (knee) practiced in full but are questionable, and S Grant Delpit (concussion), CB Martin Emerson (rib), RB D'Onta Foreman (groin), DE Myles Garrett (Achilles), WR Jerry Jeudy (knee), TE David Njoku (ankle), DE Za'Darius Smith (toe) and OT Jedrick Wills (shoulder, knee) practiced in full and were removed from the injury report.

From TheHuddle

Oct 18 2:10pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (knee) is currently listed as questionable ahead of the Week 7 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite the tag, head coach Kevin Stefanski expects Chubb to be active this weekend. This would be the first game action for Chubb since he suffered that horrible season-ending knee injury last season. It wouldn't be shocking to see the Browns limit Chubb's usage during his first game back. It's worth noting that fellow running back Jerome Ford (hamstring) has already been ruled out. That being said, the Browns might have no choice but to lean on Chubb in the rushing attack. For now, fantasy managers should put him on the flex radar for Week 7.

From RotoBaller

Oct 18 1:53pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) practiced in full for a third consecutive day on Friday, Oct. 18, but is listed as questionable for Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters that Chubb is expected to play for the first time since injuring his knee in Week 2 of last season.

Fantasy Spin: Ideally, the Browns would be able to ease him in after such a long layoff, but the combination of Jerome Ford (hamstring) being ruled out and their dreadful start to the season - especially on offense - may cause them to rely on Chubb a bit more than they want to in his first game back. Since his fantasy managers have been without him this long, it makes sense to give him at least one week to prove his health before putting him back in lineups.

From TheHuddle

Oct 17 11:20pm ET

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (knee) is set to return in Week 7 against the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday after more than 13 months away and two surgeries to fix his ACL, MCL and more in his left knee. Chubb said he feels "good" and is "ready to be back to help this team however I can" after being one of the league's best RBs since he entered the NFL in 2018. He ranks behind only Jamaal Charles in highest career average per rush for RBs, but head coach Kevin Stefanski cautioned there isn't an exact snap or touch total that the team has in mind for Chubb's return. The 28-year-old thus won't be in line to see 20-plus touches in his season debut, making him a pretty volatile and low-upside RB3/flex this weekend. Chubb's return from the PUP list essentially makes Jerome Ford (hamstring) unplayable in starting fantasy lineups.

Oct 17 5:53pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Jerome Ford (hamstring) and S Ronnie Hickman Jr. (ankle) did not practice on Thursday, Oct. 17. Also, S Grant Delpit (concussion), RB D'Onta Foreman (groin), LB Jordan Hicks (elbow, triceps), C Ethan Pocic (knee), DB Juan Thornhill (calf) and CB Denzel Ward (hamstring) were limited and RB Nick Chubb (knee), CB Martin Emerson (rib), DE Myles Garrett (Achilles), RB Nyheim Hines (knee), WR Jerry Jeudy (knee), TE David Njoku (ankle) and OT Jedrick Wills (shoulder, knee) practiced in full.

From TheHuddle

Oct 17 5:53pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) practiced in full once again on Thursday, Oct. 17.

Fantasy Spin: Chubb looks ready to make his long-awaited return this week. Traditionally a locked-in RB1, Chubb may not see a full workload in his first game back. Offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey said that decision is "still a work in progress." If he doesn't get a full workload, Chubb is a touchdown-dependent flex option.

From TheHuddle

Oct 17 12:23pm ET

Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb (knee) could be limited in his first game back during the Week 7 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals and that his workload is 'still a work in progress,' offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey told reporters Thursday, Oct. 17.

Fantasy Spin: It's no surprise the Browns would want to ease Chubb back into a starter's workload considering the severity of the knee injury and the state of the franchise with a 1-5 record. Managers will want to exercise some caution and view Chubb as a flex option, but there's still some upside if he gets a decent workload against a vulnerable Bengals front.

From TheHuddle

Oct 17 9:50am ET

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb (knee) is expected to return in Week 7 this Sunday against the division-rival Cincinnati Bengals for the first time since suffering a gruesome knee injury in Week 2 of 2023, and ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi writes that a struggling Browns offense could look to lean on the ground game with Chubb returning. Cleveland ran for 100 yards for the third time this season and averaged 4.0 yards per carry in the Week 6 loss to the Eagles, and multiple players said that running the ball was a point of emphasis during weekly preparation. That should especially be the case with Chubb returning after the Browns traded receiver Amari Cooper to the Bills earlier this week. It's unclear how much of a workload Chubb will see immediately, but the good news is Browns RBs are averaging 4.3 yards per carry and 1.78 yards after contact per rush, which rank 16th and 19th, respectively.
