Buffalo Bills wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. (leg) was activated off the active/non-football injury list on Sunday. The wideout was battling a lower leg strain, forcing him to miss the first four practices of training camp. He signed with the Bills in March after making stops in Jacksonville, Carolina, Seattle, and Los Angeles (Chargers) since being selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He had a decent rookie campaign, finding the end zone five times. However, Shenault has only had two touchdowns ever since. Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer have both looked good during training camp, and Khalil Shakir doesn't appear to be in jeopardy of losing his spot on the depth chart. With that in mind, Shenault will have work to do in order to get meaningful snaps throughout the season. For now, he's not worth drafting in any fantasy format.

Shenault missed the first day of practice with a lower leg strain, with head coach Sean McDermott declining to offer a timetable for a return, instead calling Shenault "day-to-day". Shenault is beginning his first season with the Bills after the Seattle Seahawks released him following the 2024 season. Shenault will battle with several others to be one of the final receivers on the Buffalo roster, with his skills as a returner on special teams most likely giving him a leg up on the competition, assuming his injury doesn't linger.

The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia lists Buffalo Bills wide receiver Laviska Shenault Jr. on the bubble watch heading into training camp. Shenault is likely best suited for the X receiver role behind Keon Coleman, and his run-after-the-catch skills and speed give him a real shot to with the kickoff-return job. The Bills made a low-cost investment in Shenault after liking him in the pre-draft process before his draft year. Despite all those things that Buscaglia mentions, he also writes that the odds are that Shenault doesn't make the team beyond training camp because they'll have answers elsewhere to the value he'd provide. If the 26-year-old doesn't make the 53-man roster, he'll be a prime candidate to be stashed on the practice squad for depth. Shenault caught just five passes for 36 yards as mostly a kickoff returner in 2024 with the Seahawks and Chargers.
