ROOKIE/FREE AGENT DRAFT:

EACH CONFERENCE HAS ITS OWN DRAFT 

YEARLY ROOKIE/FREE AGENT DRAFT:

The Rookie/FA draft will last 5 rounds and will be held 3rd Saturday in May. Draft spots will be determined by the results of The Super Bowl Playoffs and reverse order of regular season points for non playoff teams.

The Rookie/Free Agent draft is a straight draft, going from picks 1-10, and then back to 1 again.  It is NOT a serpentine draft.  The team with pick 1.01 will have pick 2.01, 3.01, etc., unless any of those picks have been traded.

The Rookie/FA draft shall include any NFL free agents that are not on a current roster, as well as all rookies selected during the NFL draft.  Any players drafted in the supplemental NFL draft after the start of the Rookie/FA draft will be entered into the League free agent pool and be eligible for pickup at the start of the blind bid process. 

 

OFFSEASON: 

In each of the subsequent years, there will be a Roster cut-down deadline after the conclusion of each NFL Season.

All rosters must be cut-down to 25 players no IR 1 week prior to rookie draft. Failure to do so will result in the league commissioner cutting players for the team in question. Players will be cut using the lease rostered percentages.

After teams are cut to 25 or lower pre-draft, we will expand rosters to unlimited. This will allow flexibility in roster management during the draft and remaining offseason.

The Final cut down date will be determined during the off season.  It will be around the end of August (before the waiver wire opens). This is the date you must have your roster down to 25 active 2 IR. Similarly to pre draft cuts, any roster over limit past the deadline date will be subject to commissioner cuts using lowest percentage rostered.

FREE AGENCY ACQUISITIONS AND BLIND BIDDING:

Each conference will have their own waiver wire and free agent add/drop.

The free agent acquisition process is made by way of "blind bidding".  

Each team is given $1,000 free agent "dollars" at the start of a season (not real money), which they may use to bid on free agents during a weekly blind bidding process. 

Bids shall be placed individually, or in groups, with conditional bids following the primary bid. 

The top bid is the primary bid in a bidding group.  The bids underneath are conditional bids.  If you lose the primary bid, the first conditional bid directly below will be considered next.   If you lose the primary and the first conditional bid, then the second conditional bid will be considered, etc. 

The rest of your bidding groups will be processed in the same manner.  

A maximum of one player can be won in each bidding group.

It's important to remember when placing multiple free agent bids that you cannot win two players if they both have the same drop player.  

You may not place different bid amount on the same player. In this case, only the highest dollar bid will be considered. 

Dollar amounts do not determine preference of bids - only the order in which the bids are placed determine preference.  

 

  • Example: conditional bid #3 can be a higher dollar amount than the primary bid.

 

The first blind bidding process will run on Wednesday PRIOR to Thursday's Opening Game in NFL Week 1.

Teams are allowed to acquire up to 10 players per waiver wire period.  

There are no limitations as to the amount of players may be acquired by a team during the course of the year, provided teams remain within the maximum number of 25 players allowed on each roster.

Free Agent Acquisitions will start each Thursday at noon eastern.

 

TRADING:

Trading is open year round. All trades are made in good faith. Collusion is not allowed and will lead to removal of the league.

You can trade draft picks one year in advance of that season. 

Trading of a future first requires payment of your league dues for the year of the pick. i.e. In the season of 2029, you trade away your 2030 1st rd pick. You must log in to leaguesafe and pay for your 2030 dues or the trade will be reversed.

RULE CHANGES:
Every offseason owners are allowed to make rule change proposals. We will put proposals to a league vote. A majority (13-7 or more) is required to pass a proposal.

2ND CHANCE DISPERSAL
In the event that a team is orphaned a dispersal draft may be held. Returning owners will email their intentions to the defending champion by a set deadline. Dispersals will only be held if more than one team (including orphans) chooses to enter. 
1. Defending Champion is not eligible
2. Any team that participated in a dispersal the previous season is not eligible
3. All players and current year picks of participating teams are part of the draft.
4. Teams participating will not be able to trade during the draft.
5. Draft will be serpentine and order will be randomized. 

BEST INTEREST CLAUSE

Should circumstances, issues, or problems arise for which a remedy is not stated in the Rules... the commissioner reserves the right to take whatever actions he/she deems necessary in the best interest of the league.

DISCLAIMER

Many of the settings to ensure the bylaws are enforced are done manually. These include the turning trading on and off of many deadlines (trading, waivers, etc). Furthermore, many of the settings are not as customizable as strictly necessary to meet the needs of our specific and sometimes complex bylaws. Please defer to the bylaws to make sure a specific roster move is allowed prior to making it. If the transaction is deemed illegal by the bylaws it will be reversed.

ex. 1: Rtsports has not allowed free agency to be shut off in the off-season w/o freezing all roster movements. So we leave it open and reverse any add/drops made during the off-season. Timestamps will be used to determine illegal waiver activity.

ex. 2: Trades aren't able to be shut off team by team. During the offseason when only paid-up teams are allowed to trade, the commish can reverse any trade made involving an owner that hasn't paid their league dues.
