Summary of 2022 Ownership Meeting

1) Vote Passed to start playoffs in Week 15. Second vote passed to add game to regular season. Third vote passed to add random opponent to Week 1 of season with the stipulation each team cannot play the same team two times and the opponent will be randomly selected from another conference.

ORIGINALLY PASSED IN 2020, CHANGED IN 2021, AND MODIFIED AGAIN IN 2022 DUE TO THE ABOVE VOTE

2) Inter-Conference Annual Shuffle:  Divisions within the conference will be re-aligned as follows:

West:  Odd picks for that season.  East:  Even picks for that season.  ***NOTE -  Picks are in order of actual draft order regardless of any picks traded.  Refer to draft order in RT sports to see actual odd/even status***

This is to switch up divisions within the conference every season.  Inter Division plays each other twice while Inter Conference only once.  Instead of playing the same division every season, this hopefully re-levels the playing field within the division

Week 1, DFC 1 - 8 opponents will be randomly picked from the three lower seeds. For example DFC1 will randomly play JFC8, ZFC8, or KFC8. DFC2 will randomly play JFC7, ZFC7, or KFC7.

Once the random opponents are selected (Example, DFC1 vs JFC8 / DFC8 vs KFC1), the remaining two #1 seeds will play the remaining two #8 seeds which is also random, but any two seeds from the same conference will not play each other.

Week 2-3, 10-11 is inter-conference: 1 vs 2, 3 v 4, 5 v 6 and 7 v 8 (week 2) and 1 v 4, 3 v 6, 5 v 8 and 7 v 2 (week 3), 1 v 6, 3 v 8, 5 v 2 7 v 4 (week 10) and 1 v 8, 3 v 2, 5 v 4, and 7 v 6 (week 11).

Week 4-6 are inter-division:  1 v 3, 2 v 4, 5 v 7 and 6 v 8 (week 4), 1 v 5, 2 v 6, 3 v 7, 4 v 8 (week 5), 1 v 7, 2 v 8, 3 v 5, 4 v 6 (week 6).

Week 12-14 is repeated in opposite order of week 4-6.

Week 7--9 are inter-league.  Week 7 is DFC vs KFC, JFC vs ZFC, Week 8 is DFC vs JFC and KFC vs ZFC and Week 9 is DFC vs ZFC and KFC vs JFC. Matching seeds from each conference with play each other each week. (Example DFC1 vs KFC1).

2) Vote for "Contract" on Keepers - Did not pass with 17 no votes

3) Vote for eliminating "Team QB" - Did not pass with 19 no votes

5) Vote passed unanimously to add "Kicker" to flex position.

Unable to add kicker to flex position due to RTSports not having the option to add kicker as a flex. Flex remains RB/WR/TE.

2020 Rule Change

Summary of 2020 Ownership Meeting

1). 4 Conferences of 8. Full shuffle/re-alignment. Proposal pending otherwise full randomization if not agreeable.

2019-2020 RULE CHANGE

West:  Odd picks for that season.  East:  Even picks for that season.  ***NOTE-  Picks are in order of actual draft order regardless of any picks traded.  Refer to draft order in RT sports to see actual odd/even status***

This is to switch up divisions within the conference every season.  Inter Division plays each other twice while Inter Conference only once.  Instead of playing the same division every season, this hopefully re-levels the playing field within the division

Weeks 1, 7-8 are inter-league.  Week 1 is NFC vs AFC, CFC vs UFC, Week 7 is NFC vs CFC and AFC vs UFC and Week 8 is NFC vs UFC and AFC vs CFC.

Week 2-3, 9-10 is inter-conference:  1 vs 2, 3 v 4, 5 v 6 and 7 v 8 (week 2) and 1 v 4, 3 v 6, 5 v 8 and 7 v 2 (week 3), 1 v 6, 3 v 8, 5 v 2 7 v 4 (week 9) and 1 v 8, 3 v 2, 5 v 4, and 7 v 6 (week 10).

Went to league vote, passed with 19 YES votes.

2017-2018 RULE CHANGE

1)  New NFL Style Live Draft with 2 Minute Timer/Pick-  Each pick will be on a strict 2 minute timer per pick.  There will be a 5 minute break at the conclusion of each 3rd round for a total of 3 breaks.  If you do not put your pick in by the 2 minute expiration, the next team can put their pick in immediately there after.  (Think 2003 Minnesota Vikings).

2)  Draft "TIME-OUTS"-

2016-2017 RULE CHANGE

1)  Defensive Points Allowed Bonus-  Points scored while a team defense/special teams IS NOT on the field WILL NOT count against the team defensive points allowed.  For example, the final score of the 49ers vs Seahawks ends 21-7 in favor of the Seahawks.  However, the only TD scored by the 49ers was on a interception return TD of Russel Wilson.  If you played Seattle defense, you will get a 100 point bonus for a shutout. The total points allowed by THE DEFENSE/STs was zero even though the final score was 21-7.

2)  Injured Reserve (I/R) Roster Spots-   Injured Reserved spots are now PERMANENT roster spots.  No more re-activation of players placed on the injured reserve.  However, there will now be UP TO 3 I/R spots per team.  If a player is placed on the I/R, THEY WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY A  KEEPER THE FOLLOWING SEASON.  I/R moves are now $10.  The purpose of the I/R spot rule change is to prevent roster hoarding and make the I/R spot more meaningful when player is placed on the I/R.  No longer will borderline players be placed on the IR in the hopes of trade bait later in the season or the following season.  This also protects owners from being devastated from multiple franchise players going down in the same season.

3)  Conference Re-Alignment/Team Changes-  In response to re-alignment requests and for parody in the league, a team may change conferences ONLY IF THE FOLLOWING OCCURS.

a) The team wanting to switch conferences has ALL their original picks.  No picks traded away and no picks obtained IN LIEU of their original picks.  The team may have additional picks above and beyond their original picks and will be retained by the new owner who will take over the departing owner's team.

b)  The team being departed has 3 players ranked in RTSports' ADP's top 50 as of 45 days PRIOR to that season's draft.  This is to ensure the departing team is not leaving a decimated team behind.

c)  If A & B are satisfied, the owner wanting to change conferences may declare that they are wishing to change conferences.  Their team will then become an Orphan Team and will be open to be bid on to ALL new incoming owners.  The departing owner will then become a part of the new owner bid pool and will have to bid on the orphan teams available.  The minimum bid for owners wishing to switch conferences will be $150.  The owners may bid on the team they just departed if they wish as a backup bid.  However, if they are out bid on all the available orphan teams, they will be out of the league and will have to return the following season.

4)  Picks traded around to multiple teams-  Any team that becomes an Orphan team will have ALL their original picks returned regardless of who currently has the pick.  For example, Team A trades to Team B their 2nd round pick.  Team B then trades to Team C that same pick from Team A in exchange for a player/pick.  Team A leaves the league.  Team C would lose the pick and it would be returned to the new orphan team owner of Team A.  Team B would retain the picks/players obtained from Team C even though they traded a bad pick.

5)  Picks obtained from Orphan teams- It was suggested that we start an "escrow account" for traded picks in the event a pick is returned due to a player not returning.  We considered this option but looking back at the number of picks traded, it is too difficult to keep track of and causes more account balancing issues.  As a compromise, if you feel you might be trading with a team who "might" be leaving, feel free to put in the notes of that pick that there will be monetary compensation in the event the team leaves.  We will then add that charge to the team tab.  If no notes are entered into the trade details, the regular rules regarding traded picks will stand.

For example-  Team A trades RB1 to Team B for their 2nd round pick.  In the notes of the trade it is stated "Team B will pay $50 to Team A in the event they quit."  $50 will be added to Team B's tab and will be charged at the beginning, mid season or end of season collection.  If they quit, the $50 held will be sent to Team A.  If they return, the $50 will be refunded/applied to the following season fees.  There is no set amount to note the returned pick penalty in the notes.  It is just an optional negotiating tool to use.

5)  Post Season Blind Bids-  Blind bids will now be open throughout playoffs and the end of the season.  Free agency will be open TO ALL owners, not just teams in the playoffs.  However, minimum blind bids will now be as follows for the POST SEASON ONLY.

Week 14 (Playoffs week 1)-  Minimum bid will be the AVERAGE of the HIGHEST TOP 10 winning free agent bids from the entire league.

Week 15 (Playoffs week 2)-  Minimum bid will be 1.5x the top 10 average

Week 16 (Playoffs week 3)  Minimum bid will be 2x top 10 average

Week 17 (Playoffs week 4)  Minimum bid will be 2.5x top 10 average

I/R WILL BE OPEN DURING THE POST SEASON UNDER THE I/R RULES ABOVE

***Top 10 winning bid amount average will be announced at the conclusion of the regular season.  The purpose of this rule is to open up the ability to obtain a free agent in the post season as opposed to previous years but it will be costly.  This is to make teams pay heavily for stumbling into the playoffs with limited rosters who were not active during the regular season.  It also makes owners really have to consider if a player is truly worth the cost to add them in the post season but at least gives them the option to be able to do so.

***Please note that these rule changes are a direct response to the rules change requests that were the most common.  There may be unintended consequences and we will adjust/remove the rule changes as we move forward and work through it.

2013-2014 RULE CHANGE

-Elimination of yardage bonus points for length of return TD (no more double dip points on return yards).  Bonus points for fumble return/interception return length of TD still awarded.

-D/ST TDs are now 60 points

-2 Point Conversions are now awarded 15 points for all position players including QBs

2013-2014 RULE CHANGE

OWNERS NOT PUTTING A FULL LINEUP IN-We will be using a Rodger Goodell fine system.  For any team that fails to put a full lineup in due to bye-weeks or injury without DECLARING they intend to do so will be fined by the league.  For example, if you have 2 good Tight Ends or Kicker and you do not want to drop them, you must declare that your intent is to play that week without that position filled on the message board PRIOR to kickoff of that week's Thursday night game.  If the lack of a full lineup is due to an unforseen injury (warmups or late declaration that the player is out) then you will not be fined.  The intent of this rule is to prevent LAZINESS or INACTIVITY of non-competitive teams.  The fines will be as follows:

1st Offense-$25 fine

2nd Offense-$100 fine

3rd Offense (removal from league)

2012-2013 RULE CHANGES

1)  WAIVER WIRE BLIND BID SYSTEM-We will be using the waiver wire software on RTSports for blind bids.  Same rules apply, highest bid wins, but no more emails will be used.  Backup bids will be done through the waiver wire blind bid system also.  There will be 2 waiver wire periods in the system, 1 for Thursday 1pm and 1 for Saturday, 1pm. Any errors will be the responsibility of the owner, commissioners will not have any ability to amend/change any errors after the bid was made.  Primary deadline has been moved back to Thursday, 3pm to allow more time due to Thursday night football.

***AGAIN, ANY ERROS ARE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE TEAM OWNER, MAKE SURE YOU LEARN THE BIDDING SYSTEM AND DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BIDS/BACKUPS, ETC.

***BACKUP BIDS ARE STILL MINIMUM $25.  THE SYSTEM ONLY SAYS $5 AS WE CANNOT CHANGE THE MIN BID FOR SEPARATE WAIVER WIRE DATES.  IF YOU BID, YOU WILL BE CHARGED $25***

1)  GUY LEDOUCHEBAG RULE-  Owners are ultimately responsible for tracking their own blind bids, trades, etc.  If there is an error with the blind bids or trade, you must contact 1 of the commissioners immediately once the error is discovered.  You may do this by email, phone, text.  If you do not get a hold of one of the commissioners it is YOUR responsibility to time stamp and evidence your intent with your lineup if you are missing one of your players or if there was an error.  If a trade occurs prior to kickoff, you must try to contact and do the same or time stamp your intent PRIOR to kickoff of the game.  Once that player's game has started, we are UNABLE to make any changes to the lineup unless we have something in writing PROVING your INTENT with that specific player.  We are unable to predict if you were or WERE NOT going to enter a player in your specific lineup after that game has started.

2011-2012 RULE CHANGES

1)  SPIRIT OF COMPETITION- Owners are not allowed to borrow players or trade back players.  Any trade backs or "bail-out" trades will be VETOED.  Every trade should be made with the intention that it will be PERMANENT and that the owner may not see that player again on his roster that season in the form of a trade.  Trades and transactions should be made with the spirit of competition in mind and should be with the ultimate goal of winning the Callan Cup honestly and on their own.

2010-2011 Elite Rule Changes

1)  New Owner Entry:  Owners will no longer be hand selected for the teams.  The system for entering the Elite as a new owner will be on the same 'blind bid' system as our Free agency.  There is no limit to the amount of owners who can bid on gaining entry to the league.  For example:  6 owners want in;  only 1 team available:  All 6 owners will send their bids directly to the Commissioner.  Highest bid wins the team for the bid price regardless of any other lower bids.  There is no additional keeper fee.  New owners are allowed to keep up to 3 keepers on the team and only for their initial blind bid entry winning bid.  Subsequent years will then be reverted to the returning owner fee of $50/keeper for up to 3 keepers.

2)  2nd Blind Bid Deadline:  Saturday 1pm-We are using RTSports Blind Bid system

2009-2010 Elite Rule Changes

1)      Trades involving picks:  Do not assume your trade has gone through until it is approved by me.  Any subsequent trades after you accept a trade from someone else will be approved regardless of intent.  Your initial trade may not be approved due to the multiple pick situation/problem with Rtsports.

2)      Kickers will be drafted separate from defenses:  it will increase bidding and increase the draft rounds two additional rounds.  Kickers will be TEAM KICKERS

3)      Pot splits:  Instead of a huge decline from 1st to 2nd, there will be a close difference between 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th.  Based on last year’s splits, the pot will be a difference of about $400 per place.  This will prevent the pot splitting that is usually worked out and make it really what this is really about:  Winning the Callan Cup.  5th, 6th will stay the same as will division winners at $50.

4)      Defenses: will be awarded more points allowed points:  During fantasy playoffs defenses were given the following point scheme:  Shoutout-100, 0-6: 75:  7-13 50; 14-17 25 points.

5)      Payment Deadlines

*  This will be strictly enforced, I am tired of chasing people down, we have too many people wanting to get in the league to have to deal with this issue.  I know times are tough, but if you cant pay your bills, team up with someone and split a team or control your blind bids and transactions and even negotiate fees with your trades.  Otherwise, we have people on a wait list ready to get in.

1)      Before the opening kickoff-Wednesday

2)      Mid-Season (week 9 deadline)- Before kickoff Sunday, 1st Sunday in November.

3)      Post-Season Payment:  By end of the season kickoff

  • Penalties- If not by deadline by kickoff*  Locked out of RTSports- no changes made to lineup
  • If not by the following week before kickoff, game is automatically forfeited
  • If game is forfeited, there is an up-front penalty fee of $50 that must be paid as well as fees owed before team is reinstated.
  • If team goes into 2nd forfeiture, owner is banned from the league and the team becomes available for sale to a new outside owner for the outstanding balance and $50 penalty fee.

Rule Reminders

1)      Blind bid deadline is absolute:  Thursday/Saturday 1pm is final:

2)      Selling players will be vetoed and prohibited.  The point of the Elite is to have fun, be competitive, build your dynasty and win the Callan Cup.  Not make a profit.

3)      Talk all the shit you want, we all are connected in some way, but know your audience.  If you wouldn’t say it to someone’s face then don’t say it on the message board.  We all know who we can get away with race, mama and gay jokes with.

***All times are 1:00 pm*** NO EXCEPTIONS!  We are using Elite Blind bid system, no more emails.

TRADE DEADLINE

Before the start of Week 11 Kickoff (before final 3 division games).  Any team mathematically eliminated from playoffs will be prohibited from trading with teams still in the playoff hunt.

-PICKS-  Teams are allowed a maximum of 2 picks per round maximum.   In the event a team posseses more than 2 picks in a given round, they will be required to trade away 1 of their picks in that round prior to that pick occuring.  If no trade is made, the latest pick within that round will be returned to the previous owner of that pick, and the subsequent round pick will be given in return.  For example, Team A has 3 1st round picks.  The 3rd 1st round pick is owned by Team B.  No trade is made to get rid of the 3rd 1st round pick.  The pick comes on draft day, Team B gets that pick back, however, Team A receives Team B's 2nd round pick.  This cycle repeats if multiple picks are owned in subsequent rounds.  No team automatically gets their pick back with giving nothing in return.  If Team B has no 2nd round pick, it will revert to their next available pick.

* Draft Order:  Draft order is in order of finish within the conference.  Last place gets the #1 overall pick through conference champion getting the #8 pick.  Draft order is a snake-style format.  Tie-breakers are for lower seeding (higher draft pick) is in the REVERSE tie-breaker order of playoff seeding/tie-breaker rules.  The order of finish in playoffs will determine overall pick regardless of record.  For the 5/6 pick, tie-breaker rules in opposite order will apply.  Pick #1-4 will be based on in order of WORST finish, tie-breakers being in opposite order of playoff tie-breker rules.

PLAYOFFS

The winner of each division will get a place in the playoffs. They will be the #1 and #2 seed based on the two division winner's record.  There will be two wild-card spots available for the next top two teams within the conference and they will be the #3/#4 seed based on their overall record between the two wildcard teams.  In the event there are multiple teams tied, the tie-breaker rules will be as followed:

***TIE-BREAKER RULES***

-Teams in same division (in order):  Overall record, conference record, division record.  H2H record, H2H points, Overall Points, Coin Flip

-Teams NOT in the same division (in order):  Overall record, conference record, H2H record, H2H points, Overall Points, Coin Flip.  Since teams in opposing divisions play each other only once, this will likely be the deciding tie-breaker.  However, for future scheduling or if the NFL goes to a 18 game or higher season, the subsequent tie-breakers may be put into use.

***NOTE***  Since conference champions are not from the same conference, conference records and division records will be disregarded.  It will be overall record, H2H record, if no head to head game was played, then it will go to total regular season points.  If total regular season points are tied, it will go to total season points (including playoffs).

***In the event a post-season game's score is tied, regular tie-breaker rules will apply as stated above.

***I/R Rules***  The I/R roster spot can be used only once per team per season.  Once a player is placed on the I/R, they cannot be activiated until the 1st week of the playoff season.  Players on the I/R may be traded to other teams and be activated by that team receiving the IR player.  However, if the player is traded back to the original team OR the original team acquires the IR player via the waiver wire, that team MUST place that player back on the I/R.  This is to prevent purposeful circumvention of the IR.  The use of the IR spot is to protect an owner from being forced to drop a dynasty player in the event of an injury.  The player placed on the IR must be listed on the NFL injury report at the time of placement on the IR to be eligible to be placed on the IR.  Players on the waiver wire may not be placed directly on the I/R.  The player must be currently on the owner's roster to be moved to the I/R spot.

***Picks traded involving Orphan Teams***  Any picks obtained FROM an orphan team will be returned to that the new owner taking over the orphan team.  Any picks given to the Orphan team from another returning owner will be retained by the new owner of the orphan team.  Previously it was the orphan team returned to the "status quo" by returning and receiving any/all picks given/received.  However, this created a disadvantage for the new owner since the previous owner likely given up high quality or "keeper" players to obtain those picks.  We want all our new owners to have as much initial success as possible and not give current owners any advantage in a situation where the previous team put the new owner at a severe disadvantage.  Please plan your trades accordingly and be selective with WHO you trade with.
