SETXFFL LEAGUE CONSTITUTION

First and foremost this is a "clean" league.  The use of profanity or lewd language will not be tolerated.  There shall be no obscene graphics or pictures for team logos.  Any usage of the aforementioned language or logos shall be grounds for immediate termination from the league without a refund.

The league consists of 4 divisions and each division has 8 teams. Each division conducts a separate draft at the beginning of the season drafting 16 players (teams shall maintain a 16 player roster throughout the season). Draft order is determined by last year final conference standing from worst to first.  The draft order reverses each round so that the team owner drafting first in the first round will draft last in the second round and then first again in the third round (snake method).

Cost to participate is $75 per team. This money (minus league fees) is then paid out to those Team owners who make the playoffs.  The regular season ends after Week 13.  Playoff Teams scheduling rules further down in by-laws.

NOTICE:  Any Team not fully paid by the end of Week 2, will lose access to their team until money is paid.

Playoff Payout as of 2021:

All eight Wild Card Teams play each other in Playoff Week 1. The winners of the Wild Card games play the four Conference Champs in Playoff Week 2. Playoff Week 3 are the semi-finals. Playoff Week 4 is the Super Bowl.

Playoff Week 1 losers receives $60 (4 teams)
Playoff Week 2 losers receives $100 (4 teams)
Playoff Week 3 losers receives $150 (2 teams)
Super Bowl loser receives $400
Super Bowl winner receives $900

Free Agency/Waiver Wire: Owners may pick up 2 players a week via Free Agency or the Waiver Wire.  An owner may submit a request anytime from Tuesday morning at 7am until Wednesday night at 10:59pm CST. Then the site will award players on Wednesday night at 11:00pm CST to the teams making a request. The filling order will begin from worst record to best record last season standings starting Week 1.  After the first two games, the current conference standings will apply.  Free Agency begins after the Waiver Wire officially closes. You will be able to go in and pick up players until Sunday at 11:45am CST. Keep in mind the Waiver Wire expanded time is truly a "free for all" (first come first serve).

NEW RULE as of 2023 Waiver Wire will remain open ONLY for the playoffs for the remaining playoff teams of each round. No claims can be made by non-participating teams. Once a playoff team is eliminated, they will no longer be able to claim players off the waiver wire.

Scoring each week is determined by RT Sports. In the event that a tie occurs, the first tiebreaker is the individual player on the team with the highest score.  Second tiebreaker is the team who scores the most points in TOTAL (including bench players) is deemed the winner.

Trades:  All trades must be fair and above board.  Any trade agreement between Teams will be assessed and approved by the Commissioner and one team owner not in the division where the trade is being considered.

Injured Reserve (new for 2021): Each Team will have the ability to place one NFL ruled I/R player on their own I/R for as long as that player is classified as such.  Doing so will allow a Team to pick up a player via Free Agency or Waiver Wire. Once I/R player is officially released from I/R, the Team must drop a player from their roster before submitting their starting lineup, if over the roster limit of 16 players.

Players on IR when picked up via Free Agency must be off the NFL-IR list after you acquired him during the season and started in your lineup for at least one game to be eligible as a Keeper the following season.

Note: Lineups may be edited and submitted up until game time.

KEEPERS:  This is a PPR (point per reception) league with a 1 point per reception in order to avoid fractions.  This is also a two player per year keeper league with the following guidelines:

          A) No first or second round picks will be keepers (it keeps the top players circulating every year)  The first available keeper is a third round pick.  B) Your keepers move up 2 positions every year they remain on your team until they are eventually off  your team.

               Here is a few examples:

               a) You keep your third round pick.  He becomes your first round pick the next year then he is off your team
and back in the pool the next year.

               b) You keep an eleventh rounder. The next year he is your ninth-round pick, the next he is your 7th round pick,
the next he is your 5th etc. until he is eventually off your team.

               c) If you pick up an undrafted player off of the waiver wire and want that player as your keeper he is
automatically a 16th rounder the year you get him off of waivers so the next year he is your 14th round
pick. If you want to keep two players that were acquired off of the waiver wire, then one player will be a 16th
round pick and the second one will be a 15th round pick.  In order to avoid the potential for collusion,
players that are placed on waivers will maintain their draft grade (round they were drafted in) throughout the
season.  So, if a player was drafted in the 5th round and he gets injured and placed back on the waiver wire
he is NOT an 16th rounder the next year he is still a 5th rounder this year and a 3rd rounder the following
                   year.

               d) You can naturally change your keepers from year to year.  I don't see any need for restrictions on what
position your keepers are with this method.

          C) Since this is a keeper league the draft order will now be done as a worst to first draft order for the first
round.  After that it continues to be done in a snake-draft fashion: 1-8, 8-1, etc.

Playoff Qualifications: The playoffs, as of the 2021 extended 18 weeks of NFL games, will begin in Week 14 and conclude in Week 17. The top two teams in each division (8 total) qualify for the playoffs as Division Champ (best record, 1st seed) and Runner Up (2nd best record, 2nd seed). There are four Wild Cards, one from each division of the six remaining teams. Each will be based on highe
st total points within each division regardless of record.  All other ties, (same record, same points) will be broken by (1st) head-to-head matchup, (2nd) a coin flip. The Champ of each division receives a bye in the first week of playoffs.

SPECIAL NOTE: If there is tiebreaker for 2nd place in a division, the loser of tie must be highest TOTAL POINTS against the remaining teams of his/her division to qualify for the playoffs as a Wild Card. .

In Playoff Week 1, highest seed 2nd seed plays lowest seed Wild Card regardless of division. The seeding in the next round(s) are based in same format matching highest remaining seed with lowest remaining seed throughout the playoffs.
