By-Laws

ALL TEAMS SHOULD HAVE INTERNET ACCESS, AN EMAIL ACCOUNT, A BROWSER WITH JAVA, AND MS-WORD.

NUMBER OF TEAMS: 12

ROSTER SIZE IS: 18 (not including I/R)

Makeup of roster can by any combination of positions.

We will hold over TWO or THREE players each year. Regardless of any trading you do before protecting players, only 2 or 3 will be protected. Exception - players officially out for the season can be kept on I/R and will NOT count towards the two player protected list.

You can have a player on your team for an UNLIMITED amount of years.

New for 2023 - Immediately after the NFL Super Bowl, there should be no IR players. Rosters need to be reduced to 18 in order to not give advantage of having extras players going into the next year. (Note you cannot drop a Defense or a Kicker during this drop -[unless kicker is on IR])

HOW KEEPERS WORK:

When we keep our 2 (or 3) players - it entails losing draft picks.

Whatever player you protect (non-K/DEF), whatever round you drafted him in, you lose the next round's draft pick the initial year, and he will drop down a round for every year you keep him.

Ex. Bell was a first round pick last year so this year you lose a second round pick. Next year a third and so on...

If you got 2 guys that were drafted in the same round I'd slot them in that round and the next. So if player 1 and player 2 were drafted in the 3rd round, I would slot them in your 4th and 5th round.

Traded players keep their keeper round status from the previous owner

Undrafted Free Agents from the previous year will be protected as an 8th round pick the first year that he is protected. He will drop down a round for every year you keep him.

Any player dropped during the season and picked up at a later time in the same season will be kept at the player's draft/protected price tag. Example - Peyton Manning: if he was drafted or protected this year in round 3, dropped and then picked up as a free agent - he is a 4th round keeper next year. Whether he is kept on the same roster for the entire year or released and picked up by another team he would need to be protected at his original draft/protected position.

If a player that was drafted/protected lower than the 8th round is dropped and picked up again, the player will still be designated for an 8th round pick. Hwill drop down a round for every year you keep him.

The commissioner is responsible for tracking this – so owners don’t have to worry – just need to ask!

When you give me your holdovers, I will plug them into the draft. For example, if I kept Jimmy Graham and Trent Richardson, I would add them to my draft rounds 2 and 3, because I drafted them in rounds 1 and 2, respectively. So I won’t have picks in 2nd and 3rd round. To compensate for this in order to keep our roster size at 18, I have increased the draft to 18 rounds. We will be drafting the same amount of people though as we have in previous years.

And for trades - "What if I want to protect my 2nd round guy, but I traded away my 2nd round pick?" The protected pick lost would go to the next round (3rd).

INJURED RESERVE:

Out or worse - Includes all players listed as Opt-Out, Out, I/R, PuP, NFI, or Covid list on the NFL injury report. IF RTSPORTS ALLOWS TO BE PUT ON I/R, YOU CAN DO SO.

Removing People from IR - For Saturday and Sunday games you need to check to see if your player(s) need to come off IR by Friday 6pm. For players who have Thursday games this can be 6pm Thursday. You can view your rosters, and the ones highlighted in Yellow should come off IR.  *** Please note that some players on IR might be listed as questionable all week and could possibly not play, but they are not officially out until RtSports says so. Timing is everything. A player on your IR on Wednesday, Thursday, or even Friday AM might still say questionable, but after practice Friday they might be determined as out.

LIMIT of FOUR players on IR at any given time..

DRAFT ORDER:

FOR FIRST ROUND:

BASED ON PREVIOUS YEAR'S RECORDS (REGULAR SEASON)

FOUR TEAMS THAT DO NOT MAKE PLAYOFFS GO TO THE LOTTERY TO BE RANKED 1-4, NUMBER OF CHANCES BASED ON REGULAR SEASON RECORD.

FOR SUBSEQUENT ROUNDS:

Will go to a normal serpentine draft, last pick of round one is 1st pick of round 2. First pick of round one is last pick of round 2 and so on.

New for 2023 - We will do waivers + Free Agent pickups before start of season. Waivers need to be in by 11pm Wednesday and order will be reverse of the draft. Free agent pickups will start Thursday.

STARTING LINEUP CONFIGURATION:

1 QB

2 RB

2 WR

1 TE

1 K

1 DEF/ST

1 SB (SWING BACK) WHICH CAN BE A RB,WR, OR A TE

Missing lineup spot rule Part 1

Anyone who is missing a position from their lineup due to a bye or because the person is listed as out on the injury report (i.e. that comes out 2 days ahead so for Sunday game it would be Friday's injury report) and is not replaced will:

1. Have the commish drop the player who has the lowest point total from their team and pickup the player with the highest point total at that position that can play that week. If there's a tie for lowest point total, priority starts in the order: DEF, K, TE, WR, RB, QB

2. In conjunction

First Offense will be a warning, to be penalized by getting the last pick in the free agent pool the next you put in for free agents.

Second Offense loses their 2nd round draft pick (So if your in the 2nd actually goes to the last pick in the last round).

Third Offense and the owner is gone.

The offense will be week by week, not player by player. So if a team is missing a TE and a K in week 2, it is only one offense. This is because some type of emergency could have come up which prevented free agent moves or lineup changes.

Missing lineup spot rule Part 2

Anyone who is missing a position from their lineup due to forgetting to update will:

1. If the team has only one player playable on their roster for that open spot, then that player will be put in the lineup.

2. If the team has more than one player playable on their roster for that open spot, then the player with the LOWEST point total for the season will be put in the lineup.

3. If the team does not have a player that is playable on their roster for that open spot:

Have the commish drop the player who has the lowest point total from their team and pickup the player with the highest point total at that position that can play that week. If there's a tie for lowest point total, priority starts in the order: DEF, K, TE, WR, RB, QB

 THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!

TRADING METHOD:

FREE AGENT TRADING:

COMPETITIVE METHOD, WHERE TRADE REQUESTS ARE ACCUMULATED DURING THE WEEK (STARTING TUES @6PM EST), AND THE TEAM WITH THE WORST WIN LOSS RECORD RECEIVES THE FIRST PICK, AND SO FORTH DOWN THE LINE. THIS WILL GO BY ROUNDS (I.E. 1ST RND 1-12, 2ND RND 1-12, ETC..). TRADE REQUEST CUTOFF IS 24HRS BEFORE THE FIRST GAME OF THE WEEK (EXAMPLE - IF THERE IS A THURSDAY GAME @8PM, REQUESTS SHOULD BE IN BEFORE WEDNESDAY 8PM). THERE IS NO FREEZE PERIOD ON PLAYERS.

Free agent trading begins after our draft, and ends before the 1st game of week 16.

TEAM TRADING:

Team trades do not need pre-approval by the commissioner.  TEAM TRADES CAN OCCUR UP UNTIL 1 HR BEFORE GAME TIME.

TEAM TRADING IS OPEN UNTIL WEEK 14. DRAFT PICKS CAN ALSO BE TRADED. ANY COMBINATION OF PLAYERS/PICKS ALLOWED. UNEVEN TRADES ALLOWED. TEAM TRADING IS OPEN AGAIN AFTER THE SUPERBOWL FOR THE NEXT YEAR. ANY OFF SEASON TRADES WITH A MANAGER WHO DECIDES NOT TO COME BACK ARE VOIDED, AND REVERSED.

Note on team trading:

Trades will be monitored, and if changes need to be made, they will be made!! I’ve been in other league where the open trading method is used, and every year there’s at least a couple of MAJOR questionable deals, then people either threaten to quit, or do. I don’t want that to happen to us!! I also however don’t want to go back to me OKing or denying trades either. Remember, we are in it for fun, and wrecking a whole league of friends' fun is not what we are looking for.

THERE ARE NO LIMITS ON THE AMOUNT OF TRADING (FREE AGENT OR TEAM) THAT YOU MAY DO (WEEKLY OR FOR SEASON).

Putting people on I/R during the season will be allowed - unlimited.
Player must be put on I/R in real life to be put on our I/R.

Player cannot be released from I/R until he comes back in real life.

Player must be on your active roster - not picked up from F/A pool and then placed on I/R.
