** Roster Limits

The rules for this league have not been updated and cared for in recent years.  This Roster Limit rule was ruled out prior to the 2018 season.  The total number of players is 16 and can be viewed in other areas of the rules.  From the completion of the League Draft until the start of the waiver wire immediately preceding the first bye week, each franchise must maintain
the following roster structure:

3 Quarterbacks
4 Running Backs
5 Wide Receivers
2 Tight Ends
2 Defensive Units
2 Special Teams Units

The Supplemental draft was also eliminated prior to the 2018 season.  Following the Supplemental Draft, the roster limits increase by 1 at every position. However, at no time may any
franchises total roster exceed 18 players or units, with kickers and special teams being counted together as one unit.

Players on injured reserve are not counted in these totals.

** Trades and Roster Moves

Whenever possible, franchises should use RTSports to manage their teams. RTSports allows a team to modify their
starting lineup, place or remove players from Injured Reserve, propose or accept trades, or to waiver player and
acquire free agents. If you are having difficulty accessing RTSports, roster moves can be made by sending an e-mail
to the commissioner at chris@armchairfootball.com


** Waiver Wire

The waiver wire period begins whenever RTSports enables it on Tuesday morning and ends at 9pm Pacific Time.

During the Waiver Wire, free agents are awarded based on a worst-to-first priority in Total Points. Only one player per franchise may be acquired during the Waiver Wire period each week.


** Free-for-all Period

The free-for-all period for acquiring free agents begins on Wednesday at 3am Pacific Time (six hours after the end of
the Waiver Wire as required by RTSports). During the free-for-all period, free agents are awarded on a first-come
basis. There are no limits on how many free agents may be acquired as long as the roster limit rules are not
violated.


** Waivers

A player or unit released by an AFL franchise becomes a protected free agent and may not be acquired or reacquired until the start of the Waiver Wire for the following week


** Injured Reserve

Each team may place up to three players on Injured Reserve (IR) during the season.

Players on IR may not be reactivate until 21 days have elapsed from the date that the player was placed on IR

Players who are suspended, unsigned, holding out, or otherwise inactive for any reason other than injury may be not be
placed on Injured Reserve.

** Trade Deadline

All trading must be concluded by the start of play on Sunday of Week 11.  No trades may occur between the trade deadline and the start of the League Draft for the following season.

 

** Disputes

All disputes will be settled by the decision of the commissioner. Any franchise can challenge a decision by the
commissioner by filing a protest.

To file a protest, a franchise must notify the commissioner in writing. The franchise must state what specific changes
are being sought to the commissioner's ruling.

The commissioner will conduct a vote on the protest. A minimum of 72 hours will be allowed for each team to vote on a
protest. At least 51% of the league's franchises must vote in favor of a protest in order for it to be sustained.
