Allen comes up huge in Week 3

It was another highly entertaining week of football. We had several close games, won in the last seconds. Scores weren’t too high scoring for fantasy teams, though. There were three teams that didn’t even score double-digit points. There were a few really big games from fantasy players, mainly from the quarterback and receiver spots. Hopefully, you had some of those players on your team and pulled out a win Week 3.

Panthers 24, Texans 9

Fantasy Stud: Sam Darnold. Darnold continued his hot ways in this favorable matchup. He hit the 300-yard passing mark and also ran in two scores Darnold was 23-of-34 for 304 yards without a touchdown or turnover. But he ran in two scores, rushing eight times for 11 yards and two touchdowns. Darnold had a season high 28.3 fantasy points. He has 22.9-plus points every game this season.

Fantasy Dud: Phillip Lindsay. Lindsay had a team-high seven carries but managed just five yards. He didn’t catch a pass in the game, putting up terrible fantasy numbers. Lindsay found the end zone each of his first two games but didn’t in this one. He is looking like a touchdown dependent player in this offense, making him a risky fantasy play.

Game Notes: Christian McCaffrey suffered a hamstring injury and left the game. The good news is the injury isn’t considered really serious. He is likely to miss some time but likely just a few weeks. Chuba Hubbard will start while McCaffrey is out of the lineup. Hubbard had 11 carries for 52 yards and three receptions for 27 yards in this game.

Davis Mills played alright in his first NFL start. He was 19-of-28 for 168 yards and a touchdown without a turnover. And he did this against a good Panthers defense. He did move the offense some.

Falcons 17, Giants 14

Fantasy Stud: Saquon Barkley. Barkley didn’t have a huge game but showed his high ceiling with his highest touches of the season. He ran 16 times for 62 yards and caught six passes for 43 yards. Barkley had 105 total yards and a score in the game with six catches. It was his best performance of the year. Hopefully, it is just the start for the superstar running back.

Fantasy Dud: Daniel Jones. Jones had what seemed a prime matchup for him but was unable to do much for his fantasy teams. He moved the offense pretty well but didn’t score a touchdown either throwing or rushing. He was 24-of-35 for 267 yards and ran eight times for 38 yards. You expected much better from Jones after his great start to the season.

Game Notes: Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton were both injured in the game for the Giants, leaving the team very thin at receiver. Kenny Golladay was able to play and caught four passes for 64 yards. Keep an eye on the injury notes for the latest on the two injured Giant receivers.

Cordarrelle Patterson continues to get more and more chances at running back, especially as a receiver. He ran seven times for 20 yards but caught six passes for 82 yards, leading the Falcons in receiving yards. Patterson has 11 receptions his last two games.

Bills 43, Washington 21

Fantasy Stud: Josh Allen. Allen finally looked like the Allen from last year. He had a monster game, scoring five touchdowns. He was 32-of-43 for 358 yards and four touchdowns without a turnover. He also ran in a score, rushing four times for nine yards and a touchdown. Allen had 40.8 fantasy points in the game, carrying many of his fantasy teams to victory all by himself.

Fantasy Dud: Devin Singletary. Singletary had his worst game of the young season, rushing 11 times for 26 yards. Zack Moss played better, rushing 13 times for 60 yards, averaging 4.6 yards per carry. Singletary is off to a good start but Moss might be earning more playing time from him going forward.

Game Notes: Cole Beasley was heavily targeted, catching 11 passes for 98 yards. Beasley has eight or more receptions two of three games.

Emmanuel Sanders enjoyed his best game as a Bill. He had five receptions for 94 yards and two touchdowns. This was the first time all season Sanders round the end zone and topped 55 yards in a game.

Browns 26, Bears 6

Fantasy Stud: Kareem Hunt. Hunt was off to a disappointing start but finally got it going in Week 3. He ran 10 times for 81 yards and a touchdown. He also caught six passes for 74 yards on seven targets. It was the most involved in the passing game all season for Hunt. He is capable of this type of game every week in this offense - even as the backup.

Fantasy Dud: Justin Fields. Fields had a dud of a first NFL start. He did next to nothing, getting harassed most of the game from the Browns pass rush. He was just 6-of-20 for 68 yards. And he ran for just 12 yards on three carries. It was a terrible showing from Fields, who likely will head back to the bench once Andy Dalton is healthy enough to play.

Game Notes: Odell Beckham made his season debut and looked great, leading the Browns in receiving. He had five receptions for 77 yards.

Austin Hooper scored a touchdown for the first time this season. He had two receptions for 19 yards and a score. He has nine fantasy points two straight games.

Ravens 19, Lions 17

Fantasy Stud: D’Andre Swift. Swift continues to be a big bright spot for fantasy teams. He had 14 carries for 47 yards and a touchdown. He also had seven receptions for 60 yards. Swift has 23-plus fantasy points two of three games. He has become a consistent fantasy play in this offense.

Fantasy Dud: T.J. Hockenson. Hockenson finally had a bad game, catching two passes for just 10 yards. It was a really disappointing game against a team that was horrible against the tight end the first two games of the season. Hockenson will be just fine going forward, but this game likely hurt many of his fantasy owners.

Game Notes: Mark Andrews had his first 100-yard game of the year, catching five passes for 109 yards. Andrews has two straight games with five receptions.

Latavius Murray led the Ravens backs in rushing, running seven times for 28 yards. Ty’Son William was a little more effective in the game, rushing five time for 22 yards. Williams averaged 4.4 yard per carry compared to 4.0 for Murray.

Titans 25, Colts 16

Fantasy Stud: Ryan Tannehill. Tannehill was without his No. 1 receiver most of the game but had his best fantasy showing of the year. He was 18-of-27 for 197 yards and three touchdowns with an interception. Tannehill also made a lot of plays with his feet, rushing five times for 56 yards. He had a season high 25.5 fantasy points in the game.

Fantasy Dud: Jonathan Taylor. Taylor had a good matchup but was unable to do much with it. He ran 10 times for 64 yards, averaging a solid 6.4 yards per carry. He didn’t score a touchdown, though, and had just a catch. Taylor has fewer than double-digit fantasy points two straight games.

Game Notes: A.J. Brown was injured really early in this game and unable to return. Keep an eye on the players notes for the latest on Brown. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine actually led the Titans in receiving, catching four passes for 53 yards.

Carson Wentz was able to play on his two injured ankles and looked alright, going 19-of-37 for 194 yards. He didn’t score a touchdown, though, for the first time this year.

Chargers 30, Chiefs 24

Fantasy Stud: Justin Herbert. Herbert just keeps impressing with his play. He went on the road and beat the defending AFC Champions. Herbert was 26-of-38 for 281 yards and four touchdowns without a turnover. This was his first multiple passing touchdown game of the season for Herbert. He seems to be getting better each week out and is trending towards having another huge season.

Fantasy Dud: Jared Cook. There were few duds in this game, but Cook was held in check. He had two receptions for 27 yards. Both totals were season lows for Cook. He is going to be hit or miss in an offense that features a lot of weapons, though.

Game Notes: Clyde Edwards-Helaire did lose a fumble, but had his first 100-yard game of the year. He ran 17 times for 100 yards, averaging 5.9 yards per carry. He also caught two passes for nine yards and a touchdown. The fumbles are a concern, but it was good to see Edwards-Helaire getting more touches offensively.

Mike Williams continued his red hot start to the year. He had seven receptions for 122 yards and two touchdowns. This was his first 100-yard game of the season but the third straight game finding the end zone.

Saints 28, Patriots 13

Fantasy Stud: Alvin Kamara. Kamara rebounded nice from a terrible Week 2 game. He had 24 carries for 89 yards. He had three receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown. He had 128 total yards and a score. Kamara topped 20 fantasy points for the first time this year.

Fantasy Dud: Damien Harris. Harris was a big bust in this game. He had six carries for just 14 yards and didn’t catch a pass. This was his first game all year without double-digit fantasy points. Plus, Harris failed to top 60-rushing yards for the first time. Harris will be fine but getting down big led the Patriots to abandon the run in the second half, giving Harris fewer chances.

Game Notes: Mac Jones had his struggles, going 30-of-51 for 270 yards and a touchdowns with three interceptions. This was his first game all season with any sort of interception.

James White had to be carted from the field because of a possible knee injury. He had a carry for six yards before getting hurt. White looked to have suffered a serious injury, but keep an eye on the player notes for the latest.

Bengals 24, Steelers 10

Fantasy Stud: Ja’Marr Chase. The rookie receivers just continues to impress. He found the end zone two more times, catching four passes for 65 yards and two touchdowns. Chase has scored every game his rookie season. He has put behind him any kind of struggles he had in the preseason. Chase is on the way to be a big rookie year.

Fantasy Dud: JuJu Smith-Schuster. You thought with Diontae Johnson out, Smith-Schuster might get a few more targets. Well, that wasn’t the case. Smith-Schuster had three receptions for 25 yards. Both totals were season lows for Smith-Schuster. Plus, he was targeted just four times. He did leave the game a little early because of a rib injury but did little even before the injury.

Game Notes: Najee Harris continues to get a ton of touches for the Steelers. He didn’t do much running the ball, rushing 14 times for 40 yards, but got a ton of reception chances. Harris actually had a 100-yard receiving game. He caught 14 passes for 102 yards.

Joe Burrow missed on just four passes, going 14-of-18 for 172 yards and three touchdowns with an interception. This was his first three-touchdown game of the year but he has multiple touchdowns every game.

Cardinals 31, Jaguars 19

Fantasy Stud: James Conner. Conner took advantage of some goal-line chances, scoring two touchdowns. He had 11 carries for 43 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught a pass for 10 yards, giving him 53 total yards and two touchdowns. Conner had more than double-digit fantasy points for the first time this year.

Fantasy Dud: DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins was active and didn’t look too slowed by his rib injury, but had a poor fantasy game. He caught just three passes for 21 yards. You just expect better from Hopkins - even if he did play at less than 100 percent. He had 15-plus fantasy points each of his first two games.

Game Notes: The Cardinals had two 100-yard receivers. A.J. Green had five receptions for 112 yards and Christian Kirk caught seven passes for 104 yards.

James Robinson had his best fantasy game of the season. He ran 15 times for 88 yards and a touchdown. He also had six receptions for 46 yards. Robinson had 25.4 fantasy points, which was a season high for him.

Broncos 26, Jets 0

Fantasy Stud: Melvin Gordon. Gordon got back to his good ways, rushing 18 times for 61 yards and a touchdown. He also had a catch for 21 yards, giving him 82 total yards and a score. Gordon has touchdowns two of three and at least 14 touches every game. He is splitting work with rookie Javonte Williams, but still getting plenty of chances in those games.

Fantasy Dud: Michael Carter. Carter got more playing time with Tevin Coleman out. Carter didn’t do much with his work, though. He ran nine times for 24 yards, averaging 2.7 yards per carry. He also caught two passes for just five yards. Until he starts producing some, Carter is best left on fantasy benches. The entire Jets offense is a mess right now.

Game Notes: Tim Patrick led the Broncos in receiving. He had five receptions for 98 yards. He has done well filling in for Jerry Jeudy. Patrick has touchdowns two of three and at least three receptions every game.

Zach Wilson continues to have his struggles. He was 19-of-35 for 160 yards with two interceptions and he failed to score a touchdown. Wilson has six interceptions without a score his last two games.

Vikings 30, Seahawks 17

Fantasy Stud: Justin Jefferson. Jefferson had played well this year but this was his best game of the season. He had a big, big showing, catching nine passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. He scored 26.8 fantasy points. Jefferson has scores two straight and at least five receptions every game this season. Jefferson is well on his way to another big fantasy season.

Fantasy Dud: Tyler Lockett. Lockett played much of this game but was injured late with some sort of ankle injury. It looked like a serious injury. Lockett did not produce before the injury, though. It was his first down game, having four receptions for 31 yards. His poor showing stunk the but injury is much more concerning.

Game Notes: Alexander Mattison got the start because of an injury to Dalvin Cook and was great. He hit the 100-yard mark, rushing 26 times for 112 yards. He also had six receptions for 59 yards. Mattison can be an elite fantasy back in a starting role in this offense.

Kirk Cousins was outstanding for the Vikings, finishing 30-of-38 for 323 yards and three touchdowns without a turnover. Cousins has two straight three-touchdown games and has eight scores without a pick this season.

Rams 34, Bucs 24

Fantasy Stud: Matthew Stafford. Stafford continues to look like a great fit for the Rams offense. He was outstanding against the defending Super Bowl champs, finishing 27-of-38 for 343 yards and four touchdowns without a turnover. Stafford has at least 21 fantasy points every games and nine touchdowns to just one interception.

Fantasy Dud: Robert Woods. Woods just hasn’t been looked at too often with Stafford as the Rams starting quarterback. He struggled for the third straight game, catching here passes for 33 yards. Woods has been a big bust to start the year. He has not topped 65 yards in a game and his season-high in catches is five. Woods has plenty of time to get it going but his start is a concern.

Game Notes: Cooper Kupp just keeps producing huge numbers for his fantasy owners. He had nine receptions for 96 yards and two touchdowns. Kupp has touchdowns all three games and at least seven receptions all of those games.

The Bucs struggled mightily on the ground once again. Ronald Jones ran five times for 11 yards while Leonard Fournette had four carries for eight yards. Tom Brady threw the ball 55 times, finishing 41-of-55 432 yards and a touchdown.

Raiders 31, Dolphins 28

Fantasy Stud: Peyton Barber. Barber had a huge game, emerging as the lead back for the Raiders with Josh Jacobs out of the lineup. Barber hit the 100-yard rushing mark, running 23 times for 111 yards and a touchdown. He also had three receptions for 31 yards, giving him 142 total yards and a score. As long as Jacobs is out, Barber looks like the back to use in Las Vegas right now.

Fantasy Dud: Myles Gaskin. Gaskin didn’t have a bad game running but didn’t get a ton of chances and only had two receptions. He just didn’t produce for his fantasy owners. Gaskin had 13 carries for 65 yards and three receptions for nine yards. Gaskin has failed to top 65-rushing yards in any games this year. He has fewer than 200 total yards for the season.

Game Notes: The Dolphins had two players reach double-digit receptions. Mike Gesicki had 10 receptions for 86 yards. And rookie Jaylen Waddle had 12 catches for 58 yards. Both players were heavily targeted by new quarterback Jacoby Brissett.

Derek Carr topped 380-passing yards for the third straight game. He was 26-of-43 for 386 yards and two touchdowns with an interception. Carr is already over 1,200-passing yards for the season.

Packers 30, 49ers 28

Fantasy Stud: Davante Adams. Adams had a gigantic performance, producing huge for his fantasy owners. He had 12 receptions for 132 yards and a touchdown. It was a performance similar to last year for Adams. He even took a huge hit in the game and looked done, but returned to action just a few series later. Adams has two straight 120-plus yard games and is rounding into form after a disappointing Week 1.

Fantasy Dud: Robert Tonyan. Tonyan had one of his disappointing games, catching just a pass for six yards. He was targeted just once in the game. Tonyan is becoming a touchdown dependent player. He has fewer than 10 yards two of three games. He is a real hard fantasy player to trust right now.

Game Notes: Brandon Aiyuk got his most playing time of the season and finally produced for his fantasy owners. He had four receptions for 37 yards and a touchdown. Aiyuk had a season high six targets in the game and also ran once for eight yards.

Trey Sermon started and got most of the work at running back but was ineffective outside of a touchdown at the goal line. He ran 10 times for 31 yards and a touchdown.

2024 NFL Draft Recap

Player Notes
Aidan O'Connell May 10 4:30pm ET
Aidan O'Connell

The Las Vegas Raiders signed veteran Gardner Minshew to a two-year, $25 million contract this offseason, yet 2023 fourth-round pick Aidan O'Connell is the early favorite to handle QB1 duties in 2024, according to head coach Antonio Pierce. "Aidan's earned the right to go out there and earn the first snap," Pierce said. "What he's done this offseason -- changing his body, his work ethic, being here every day, blocking out the outside noise. He's not worried about anything. I'm excited." O'Connell replaced Jimmy Garoppolo in the middle of last season and threw for 2,219 yards, 12 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. The team went 5-5 during his 10 starts. Although the job sounds like it's his to lose, Minshew will also likely have the chance to battle for the starting role this offseason. The 27-year-old has thrown for 59 touchdowns and 24 interceptions during his five-year career and has looked like at least a mid-level starter at times. Whoever wins the job will get to throw to Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers, and Brock Bowers this year, so either could be a solid QB2 in Superflex formats.

Kirk Cousins May 10 4:00pm ET
Kirk Cousins

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins (Achilles) is working his way back from a Week 8 Achilles tear from last season, and reports out of Atlanta suggest he is making great progress. "Kirk is every day improving," Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said. "He's been doing all those things, he's been throwing, he's been out there pretty much full-go. Now, we got him in a limited basis, obviously 'cause he's still in his rehab and his treatment and all those types of things." The 35-year-old signal-caller has not been dropping back behind an offensive line or facing a rush, but he's evidently looked good on his dropbacks and reps with his new wide receiver group. Despite Atlanta selecting Michael Penix Jr. with the No. 8 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Cousins remains the clear starter in 2024 as long as he holds up. The four-time Pro Bowler has thrown for at least 4,000 yards seven times in his nine-year career as a starter, while the Falcons have not had a 4,000-yard passer since Matt Ryan in 2020. If Cousins isn't limited by his major injury, he'll remain a fringe QB1 option surrounded by Bijan Robinson, Drake London, Kyle Pitts, Darnell Mooney, and company.

Zay Jones May 10 3:50pm ET
Zay Jones

Free-agent wide receiver Zay Jones is signing with the Arizona Cardinals, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The 29-year-old went on visits with the Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys this week, but he ultimately landed in a spot where he can compete for targets right away. Jones was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars after they selected LSU wideout Brian Thomas Jr. in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but there's a real chance his situation is better in Arizona. Rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. is expected to occupy the WR1 role right away, but Jones is almost certainly slated to start in three-wide sets, and he might even beat out Michael Wilson to start in two-wide sets. He and tight end Trey McBride could battle it out to be Kyler Murray's No. 2 option in the passing game. Pencil in Jones as at least a deep league flex option in 2024.

From RotoBaller

Tarik Cohen May 10 2:00pm ET
Tarik Cohen

The Carolina Panthers released veteran running back Tarik Cohen, who was attempting a comeback from a series of injuries that derailed his time as a Pro Bowl return man with the Chicago Bears. Cohen hasn't played in a regular-season game in the NFL since 2020, and it remains to be seen if he'll latch on with another club this offseason. The 28-year-old was a former fourth-round pick in 2017 by the Bears out of North Carolina A&T. He was never much of a ball-carrier at 5-foot-6, 181 pounds, but he excelled as a returner and as a pass-catcher out of the backfield. Cohen suffered an ACL tear in Week 3 of 2020 and also tore his Achilles in May of 2022. He spent most of last year on Carolina's practice squad but missed two months with a hamstring injury.

Doug Pederson May 10 1:20pm ET
Doug Pederson

When asked who would be calling the team's offensive plays in 2024, Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson remained non-committal. "Don't play a game until September. So, we've got some time," Pederson said. Offensive coordinator Press Taylor was responsible for calling most of the team's plays in a disappointing 2023 season, so Pederson is seriously considering taking back those duties in 2024. A lot of the team's offensive struggles in the second half of last year had to do with the fact that quarterback Trevor Lawrence was playing injured, and that they were missing one of their top receivers in Christian Kirk. The Jaguars finished with 339.5 total yards per game (13th in the league) and 22.2 points per game (tied for 13th).

From RotoBaller

Gabriel Davis May 10 1:20pm ET
Gabriel Davis

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that wide receiver Gabe Davis (knee) is working through an injury, so the team hasn't been able to see much from him yet after adding him in free agency this offseason. Davis missed the postseason last year with the Buffalo Bills due to a knee injury that he suffered in the Week 18 season finale against the Miami Dolphins, and apparently it's still an issue. While we don't expect the injury to keep him from participating in training camp or being ready for the start of the 2024 season, it's bad news for a player looking to learn a new offense in Jacksonville. The 25-year-old is another strong offensive situation in Jacksonville, but he'll face competition for targets from Christian Kirk and Brian Thomas and tight end Evan Engram, likely making him a boom/bust fantasy option yet again.

From RotoBaller

Caleb Williams May 10 1:10pm ET
Caleb Williams

Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus officially named rookie quarterback Caleb Williams as the team's starting QB on Friday at rookie minicamp. Everyone already knew that Williams would be Chicago's starting signal-caller when they selected him first overall in last month's NFL draft out of USC. The path was cleared for the 22-year-old when they traded Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier in the offseason. There's always a learning curve for rookies that start right out of the gates in the NFL, but Williams may have the best chance for immediate success given all the weapons he has around him, especially in the passing attack. The trio of DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and rookie first-rounder Rome Odunze -- not to mention tight end Cole Kmet -- will help Williams immensely. As far as his fantasy value for Year 1 in the NFL, Williams will be on the QB2 map with upside.

From RotoBaller

Malik Nabers May 10 1:10pm ET
Malik Nabers

The New York Giants signed No. 6 overall pick, wide receiver Malik Nabers, to his rookie deal on Friday. The deal is a four-year, $29,207,750 fully guaranteed deal that includes an $18,062,000 signing bonus and a fifth-year team option. The Giants passed on adding competition for quarterback Daniel Jones in this year's NFL draft and instead gave Jones big-time receiving help with perhaps the most explosive and athletic wideout in this year's strong class of receivers. The 20-year-old from LSU will immediately slot in as New York's No. 1 pass-catcher in 2024. He was wildly productive for the Tigers and should be heavily targeted as he transitions to the NFL, but he won't turn 21 until later this summer and could struggle for consistency if Jones continues to struggle as a passer. Fantasy managers in single-year leagues shouldn't be relying too heavily on Nabers in his rookie season in a Giants offense that has had its share of problems with Jones leading them.

From RotoBaller

Alex McGough May 10 12:20am ET
Alex McGough

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Alex McGough, a former USFL MVP who transitioned from quarterback this offseason, could use his pure athleticism to secure a roster spot prior to the 2024 campaign, head coach Matt LaFleur told the media. McGough spent all of 2023 operating as Green Bay's No. 3 quarterback. "He's a really athletic guy," LaFleur explained. "He spent a lot of time on the scout team running receiver routes, and he did such a great job. We feel like he's such a talented athlete, [so] why not give him a chance there? He's a smart guy, works his tail off. I think he can contribute [on special teams] as well. We felt like that might be his best chance here." These comments suggest that the Packers place great value on McGough's athleticism and don't want to risk losing someone like him, even if his impact is limited to special teams in 2024.

From RotoBaller

Stephon Gilmore May 10 12:10am ET
Stephon Gilmore

Free agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore still wants to play football but is waiting for the right opportunity, he told NFL insider Josina Anderson. "I know the value I still bring," Gilmore said. "If you watch the tape, I feel like I played well the last two years, and literally almost played every snap last year." Indeed, Gilmore was impactful in 2023. He started all 17 games for the Cowboys, registering two interceptions, 13 passes defended, 68 tackles, and one forced fumble. He's still a starting-caliber defender who could justify holding out for a specific opportunity, perhaps with a contender.

From RotoBaller

Evan Hull May 10 12:00am ET
Evan Hull

Indianapolis Colts running back Evan Hull could still earn the backup role despite some speculation suggesting the job belonged to Trey Sermon. According to James Boyd of The Athletic, "it remains unclear" who will operate as the No. 2 option behind Jonathan Taylor in 2024. He notes that while Sermon may be the early favorite, the former 49ers draft pick has just 78 carries for 346 yards and one touchdown in his career. Whoever takes over as Taylor's backup will be filling big shoes. Last season, that role belonged to Zack Moss, who finished the year with 986 scrimmage yards and seven touchdowns. Moss is now in Cincinnati, leaving a competition of sorts for Sermon and Hull. As a rookie last year, Hull mustered just one rushing yards and six receiving yards.

From RotoBaller

Jelani Woods May 9 11:50pm ET
Jelani Woods

The Athletic's James Boyd has Indianapolis Colts tight end Jelani Woods projected as the team's starting tight end in May because he remains bullish on his potential, despite the fact he was sidelined all of last year due to hamstring injuries. Woods should be healthy for organized team activities, and his next-level athleticism will mesh perfectly with head coach Shane Steichen's play-calling to create mismatches all over the field. He's also big enough to block when needed, and Kylen Granson can continue to use his speed and route-running to help move the chains. Mo Alie-Cox will remain in the mix as a seasoned veteran. While Woods should have a bigger pass-catching role if he can stay on the field, this could once again be a frustrating committee situation at TE for fantasy managers.

From RotoBaller

Ryan Flournoy May 9 11:40pm ET
Ryan Flournoy

The Dallas Cowboys signed rookie offensive tackle Tyler Guyton to his rookie deal on Thursday. In addition to Guyton, Dallas locked up rookies Cooper Beebe, Maris Liufau, Caelen Carson, Ryan Flournoy, Nathan Thomas and Justin Rogers. The only rookie that remains unsigned now is second-rounder Marshawn Kneeland. Guyton was selected 29th overall in the first round after Troy Fautanu and Amarius Mims came off the board earlier in the first round. The 6-foot-8, 322-pounder has excellent physical traits and the potential to play tackle at the next level, but it remains to be seen if he'll eventually develop as a starting-caliber left tackle. When the 22-year-old did enter the starting lineup at Oklahoma, he only played on the right side.

From RotoBaller

Brock Bowers May 9 11:30pm ET
Brock Bowers

The Las Vegas Raiders signed first-round rookie tight end Brock Bowers to a fully guaranteed four-year deal on Thursday that is worth $18.1 million. He'll receive $10 million via a signing bonus and the standard fifth-year team option as a first-round pick. The Raiders held off on reaching for a quarterback in the first round in last month's draft and instead took one of the best players in the entire draft in Bowers at 13th overall. The 21-year-old was the highest-selected tight end since Kyle Pitts in 2021 and is athletic enough as a tight end to play pretty much anywhere on the field. Bowers set a school record at Georgia with 26 touchdowns in his time there and is the complete package. Even with Michael Mayer in town, Bowers should take over as the team's top pass-catching TE in his rookie year.

From RotoBaller

Kyren Williams May 9 5:10pm ET
Kyren Williams

The Los Angeles Rams surprisingly selected Michigan running back Blake Corum in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft despite breakout star Kyren Williams racking up 1,350 total yards and 15 touchdowns in 2023. In a media availability, general manager Les Snead said that the decision to draft Corum was related to keeping Williams fresh. "It's a tough league. It's a 17-game season plus playoffs, so we always felt like we needed to have as many quality runners as possible... so we don't just totally run down Kyren," Snead said. "And we have one or two or even three guys that can contribute... keep everyone fresh." The organization implemented a workhorse backfield approach with 2017 NFL Offensive Player of the Year Todd Gurley, and he ultimately had a short shelf life as a pro due to durability concerns. As most teams shift to a committee backfield, high-end fantasy running back producers are becoming more scarce. Williams missed five games last year on the Injured Reserve list, so the organization is being proactive and adding depth in the backfield. Williams remains an RB1 candidate, but his floor and ceiling take a hit with the addition of Corum.

Jared Goff May 9 4:30pm ET
Jared Goff

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff has vastly exceeded expectations since being traded from the Los Angeles Rams to Detroit ahead of the 2021 season. The former No. 1 overall pick has thrown for 12,258 yards, 78 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions through his first 48 games with the organization. More importantly, he led the team to Detroit's first playoff win since 1991 last year, and he had the San Francisco 49ers on the ropes in the NFC Championship game. He did not sign a contract extension along with right tackle Penei Sewell and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown two weeks ago, but general manager Brad Holmes said the two sides are working on a deal. "He's earned an extension. It's important, it's a high priority for us. Both sides are working really, really hard. These things just take time," Holmes said. "In a perfect world, we would've had all three of them done. Bang, bang, bang. But these things just kind of take a while, especially with the quarterback market, but I do have faith that it's gonna get done." Assuming Goff receives a high-dollar multi-year deal, his dynasty value with be secure over the next three or four years. While his ceiling is capped by a lack of rushing upside, he should remain a fringe QB1 as long as the Lions retain key offensive linemen and pass-catching weapons.

Treylon Burks May 9 4:20pm ET
Treylon Burks

Despite the Tennessee Titans signing veteran wide receiver Tyler Boyd this week, head coach Brian Callahan and the organization still have hope for third-year wideout Treylon Burks. "We've made very clear to Treylon that the signing of Tyler is not about him. It's about helping our team get better, adding better players to our team, making us a competitive football team," Callahan said. "What he's done and how he's worked has been great, and I'm anticipating him still being able to play a good role for us." While the Boyd signing almost surely pushes Burks to the WR4 role and destroys any 2024 fantasy football value he had, it sounds like the team is not going to trade him this offseason as many have speculated. Burks was a promising prospect coming out of Arkansas, but he's totaled just 665 receiving yards and one touchdown through his first two NFL seasons. He might be worth holding in deep dynasty leagues, but it'd be surprising if he's on the fantasy radar in redraft formats.

Ben Skowronek May 9 3:00pm ET
Ben Skowronek

The Houston Texans acquired wide receiver Ben Skowronek from the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday, according to sources. The Rams were set to waiver Skowronek, but the Texans swooped in before he hit waivers to get something done to add receiving depth behind Stefon Diggs, Nico Collins, Tank Dell, Robert Woods, Noah Brown, John Metchie III and others. The 26-year-old Skowronek was the Rams' seventh-round pick in 2021 and has mostly been limited to a role on special teams in his three years in the NFL. That will likely continue to be the case with his move to Houston, and he won't be on the fantasy radar at all. In his three years in the NFL in LA, Skowronek only had 58 receptions for 575 yards and one touchdown on 93 targets in 45 games (12 starts).

Keon Coleman May 9 2:40pm ET
Keon Coleman

In what is the weakest wide receiving corps the Buffalo Bills have had in several seasons, rookie second-round wideout Keon Coleman should start right away in his first NFL season alongside veteran Curtis Samuel and Khalil Shakir. Coleman has a lot of potential, but asking a 21-year-old to produce in a way he never has at a higher level of football seems like asking for too much, too soon, according to The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia. Depth is also an issue for this unit, with journeyman veteran Mack Hollins as their top reserve. Coleman has good size at 6-foot-3, 213 pounds, but his lack of production at Florida State made him a polarizing draft prospect. The good news is that he's going to have his opportunities right away, although that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be a starting fantasy option on a weekly basis right away.

Dawson Knox May 9 2:40pm ET
Dawson Knox

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox likely knows a reduced role is on the way again for him in 2024, although he is a favorite of quarterback Josh Allen's in the locker room, so it remains to be seen how much he'll be on the sidelines in favor of second-year tight end Dalton Kincaid. Allen may need to rely on Kincaid more to pick up a big amount of slack to keep the offense moving with an unproven receiver unit this year. Buffalo moved away from heavy usage of 12 personnel early in 2023 and mostly settled into 11 personnel. If that's the plan again in 2024, it will be interesting to see how they divvy up the snaps between Kincaid and Knox. Either way, unless Kincaid misses time with an injury, it's going to be hard to justify starting Knox outside of two-TE leagues.
