Toronto Blue Jays corner infielder Kazuma Okamoto (knee) was scratched from Tuesday's starting lineup against the division-rival Boston Red Sox with a left-knee contusion, according to the team. Charles McAdoo will now start at third base for Toronto and bat leadoff against Red Sox left-hander Patrick Sandoval at the Rogers Centre. For now, Okamoto should be considered day-to-day as he deals with what appears to be more of a minor knee injury. Fantasy managers should check back on Wednesday to see if he's good to go. Okamoto has really struggled at the plate since the All-Star break, batting .170 (15-for-88) with a .488 OPS, two home runs, three doubles, eight RBI, 11 runs scored, a stolen base, four walks, and 30 strikeouts in 23 games and 93 plate appearances. The Japanese native's power has been useful for fantasy managers in his first year in the big leagues, but the swing-and-miss issues have really surfaced so far in the second half of the season, making him a liability in the average and on-base-percentage departments.

Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo (knee) will sit out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the division-rival Colorado Rockies after being pulled from Monday's series opener with soreness in his left knee, according to MLB.com. Ildemaro Vargas will start at the 6 in Arizona and will hit eighth against Rockies right-hander Tomoyuki Sugano. Perdomo's knee injury doesn't sound too serious, but he'll miss at least one game. Fantasy managers will want to check back on Wednesday to see if he's feeling good enough to return to action. The 26-year-old Dominican switch-hitter hasn't lived up to expectations in 2026 after a breakout year in 2025 in which he hit .290 (173-for-597) with 20 home runs, 100 RBI, 27 stolen bases, and 98 runs scored in 161 games played. Going into Tuesday's games, he's slashing .2444/.359/.374 with a .733 OPS, nine homers, 42 RBI, 17 steals, and 57 runs scored in 116 games played. Perdomo had his worst month in July, hitting .194 (18-for-93) with a .658 OPS, three homers, two doubles, a triple, seven RBI, five steals, 15 runs, 16 walks, and 13 strikeouts in 24 games.

Seattle Mariners first baseman Josh Naylor (wrist) is out of the team's starting lineup on Tuesday against the hosting New York Yankees in the Bronx with soreness in his right wrist, according to Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times. Naylor tweaked his wrist on a swing during the homestand. Weston Wilson will make the start at first for the M's and will hit eighth against Yankees left-hander Ryan Weathers. The 29-year-old Naylor's power continues to decline (he has only 10 homers in 111 games), but he's on pace for a new career high in stolen bases after swiping 30 bags with the Mariners and Arizona Diamondbacks last year. It's bad timing for Naylor to be banged up, as he's hit .312 (24-for-77) with an .831 OPS, two home runs, five doubles, six RBI, five stolen bases, and nine runs scored in 21 games and 85 plate appearances since the All-Star break in mid-July. He's gone 7-for-24 (.292) with two homers, two doubles, four RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases in the first seven games in August. The Mariners are going to need Naylor down the stretch if they want to qualify for the postseason. Naylor is slashing .263/.328/.372 overall with 42 RBI, 44 runs, and 23 stolen bases to go with his 10 homers in 430 at-bats.

The Colorado Rockies are recalling outfield prospect Zac Veen from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday and have designated infielder Edouard Julien for assignment in a corresponding move, according to Kyle Newman of The Denver Post. It will be Veen's first action in the big leagues since he struggled in 2025 in his MLB debut in 12 games played, when he went 4-for-34 (.118) with a homer, two RBI, two walks, and 14 strikeouts. The team's No. 7 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, has earned a promotion back to the majors in 2026 by hitting .327/.402/.635 with a 1.037 OPS, 24 home runs, 87 RBI, 18 stolen bases, and 82 runs scored across 100 games and 445 plate appearances with the Isotopes. The 6-foot-3, 243-pounder bulked up in the offseason and cleaned up his act from a maturity standpoint, so he appears much better positioned to have sustained success for the Rockies to close out the season. Veen went 5-for-5 with three home runs, a double, and a triple over the weekend against Triple-A Sugar Land, and fantasy managers who need power and speed should be looking to add him off the waiver wire, even in mixed leagues.

The Washington Nationals do not expect outfielder James Wood (oblique) to be ready to come off the 10-day injured list later this week when he's eligible, manager Blake Butera told Danielle Allentuck of The Washington Post. Wood took stationary dry balls and threw out to 45 feet over the weekend, and he will progress to taking dry swings on Tuesday. The left-handed power hitter has been on the shelf since suffering a left-oblique strain on Aug. 3. He's improving, but his return may not come until next week. In his absence, Dylan Crews has been starting regularly for the Nats in right field. Wood needs to be stashed in all fantasy baseball leagues while he recovers from his oblique injury as one of the best young all-around hitters in the game. Before his injury, the former second-rounder in 2021 was hitting .265 (116-for-437) with 30 home runs, 73 RBI, 17 stolen bases, and 100 runs scored in just his second full season in the major leagues. He still leads the league in runs scored and walks (90) in his 114 games played.

Just when it looked like New York Mets pitching prospect Jonah Tong might be ready for another shot in the big leagues after posting a 1.84 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 14 2/3 innings pitched over three starts, the right-hander got roughed up for six runs (five earned) on five hits -- all of which were home runs -- along with one walk and a hit batter while striking out three in five innings of work in his latest outing. After a 2025 in which he posted a 1.43 ERA and struck out 179 batters in 113 2/3 innings pitched (mostly at Double-A), the Mets' top-ranked prospect now owns a 5.46 ERA and 1.47 WHIP through 19 starts at Syracuse, though the strikeout totals remain high at 26.9 percent. The 23-year-old may get another shot in the majors this year, but it could be as a reliever again like he was earlier this season. Either way, he doesn't warrant stash consideration at this point in most redraft leagues.

Colorado Rockies outfield prospect Zac Veen is one of the hottest hitters in the minors right now, and he may force his way to Colorado in the not-too-distant future. The Rockies' seventh-ranked prospect has hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games, going 24-for-52 (.462) with six doubles, two triples, and eight home runs during that time, which includes a three-homer game. For the season, the former ninth-overall draft pick is hitting .327 with the highest SLG (.635) and OPS (1.037) at Triple-A among qualified hitters. The 6-foot-3 slugger already made a brief debut in 2025, but could be back with the Rockies soon. There isn't a current path to playing time, but being on the 40-man roster and his robust productivity should give him the edge over other options available for a call-up (i.e., Charlie Condon). As hot as he is and with enough contact, power, and speed that would make him fantasy relevant, the 24-year-old is one of the better higher-end stashes for the fantasy stretch run.

Seattle Mariners second base/outfield prospect Michael Arroyo was already hitting well since his promotion to Triple-A, but the power potential has been on full display as of late. The Mariners' fourth-ranked prospect has belted a home run in three of his last four contests for Tacoma; he's now hit eight doubles, a triple, and six home runs in 26 games with the Rainiers. The 5-foot-10 Colombian is slashing a robust .327/.395/.582 during his time at Triple-A, while striking out at a better-than-average rate of 17.8 percent (8.5 percent walk rate), and he's stolen two bases thus far. The right-handed hitter has played a lot of outfield this year, in addition to his usual second base, which should give him multiple paths to the majors. At the moment, however, there is no room on the major league roster, so a call-up does not appear to be imminent. Nevertheless, the 21-year-old's skillset makes him one of the better offensive stash options out there, so managers with an NA spot available could tuck him away there in hopes of a late-season debut.

Washington Nationals infield prospect Seaver King is on a roll at Triple-A since his return from the injured list. The Nats' sixth-ranked prospect has at least one hit in six of eight games since his return to the Rochester lineup, including five hits in his last two games, which also include home runs in back-to-back contests. The former 10th-overall draft pick is now slashing .284/.361/.469 with seven home runs and four steals in 41 games with the Red Wings. The right-handed hitter's main defensive position of shortstop is blocked by CJ Abrams, but he's logged 12 games at second base this year, which offers another path to the majors, although the MLB stolen base leader Nasim Nunez is somewhat of a roadblock there as well. There is a chance for a late-season call-up, especially given his recent surge, and along with his decent power/speed combo, he is intriguing for fantasy. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on the 23-year-old, but there may be other more enticing stash options available on the wire.

The Miami Marlins announced on Tuesday that they placed first baseman/outfielder Kyle Stowers (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Aug. 10) with a strained left hamstring and recalled infielder Graham Pauley from Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move. Stowers is on the shelf after tweaking his left hamstring in the team's series finale on Sunday against the Los Angeles Angels. It's the second time this year that Stowers has gone on the IL with a hamstring issue, although earlier this year he dealt with a right-hamstring strain. The 28-year-old left-handed slugger hasn't been nearly as good as he was in 2025 in what was a breakout season, when he slashed .288/.368/.544 with a .912 OPS, a career-high 25 home runs, 73 RBI, 61 runs scored, and five stolen bases in his 117 games. He heads to the IL on Tuesday with a .242/.327/.462 slash line in 2026 with a .788 OPS, 16 long balls, 52 RBI, 44 runs, and a stolen base in 94 games played across 399 plate appearances. Stowers is still a young power-hitting outfielder worth stashing in most fantasy leagues, and he could be ready to return when he's eligible in 10 days.

Miami Marlins pitching prospect Karson Milbrandt's rough showing at Triple-A continued with his latest start this past Saturday, when he allowed four earned runs on four hits and five walks while striking out three in two innings of work. The Marlins' fourth-ranked prospect looked good over his first three starts at Jacksonville, but has allowed four runs or more in five of his last seven appearances. It has resulted in a 7.96 ERA, 2.01 WHIP, and an ugly -0.6 K-BB% over 37 1/3 innings pitched. An MLB debut looked all but inevitable earlier this year, but with an opponent batting average of .285 at Triple-A and command that clearly needs some fine-tuning, his chances of a 2026 debut are fading quickly. Perhaps there is still time to earn a September call-up, but for now, there is little reason to stash the 22-year-old in redraft leagues.

Miami Marlins outfield prospect Cam Cannarella has settled in at Triple-A Jacksonville, now batting .298 with five doubles and a home run in 16 games so far for the Jumbo Shrimp. The Marlins' seventh-ranked prospect also owns a stellar .429 on-base percentage thanks to an 18.6 percent walk rate, and he's also utilized his elite speed to the tune of six steals in six attempts. The Clemson product has surged through the Miami system since being drafted last year, cruising through High-A and Double-A already this year on his way to Triple-A. The chances of Cannarella having a fantasy impact in 2026 are slim, especially with fellow outfield prospects Kemp Alderman and Jonathan Long looming, and given the fact that the left-handed slugger isn't on the 40-man roster, but with the potential to be a multi-category contributor, he's a name worth watching in redraft leagues. The 22-year-old's dynasty arrow still points way up.

Tampa Bay Rays outfield prospect Jacob Melton currently has a right hamstring strain and is on the 7-day IL at Triple-A Durham. The injury comes at an unfortunate time for Melton as he is looking for a shot at a big league chance with the Rays, but it isn't expected to be long term. Melton made his big league debut last season for the Astros before coming over to the Rays in a December trade. The 25-year-old has played at two levels this season in the minors (mostly with Durham) and has hit .306 with six homers and 26 RBI in 134 at bats. The No. 6 prospect for Tampa Bay, Melton could see time in Tampa Bay this season assuming he recovers smoothly from his right hamstring strain. Given he already has big league experience, he is a name to monitor as someone who can produce for the Rays at the end of this season.

The Detroit Tigers promoted catcher/first base prospect Josue Briceno, MLB Pipeline's No. 54 overall prospect, to Triple-A Toledo this week, according to MLB Pipeline. Briceno is getting the call to the highest minor-league level after hitting a combined .280/.373/.591 with a .964 OPS, nine home runs, 22 RBI, and 17 runs scored in only 27 games (110 plate appearances) at the rookie-level Florida Complex League and with Single-A Lakeland and Double-A Erie. The 21-year-old left-handed-hitting Venezuelan has 60-grade power and is considered the Tigers' No. 4 overall prospect behind outfielders Max Clark (already in the big leagues) and Zyhir Hope, and shortstop Bryce Rainer. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder is pretty athletic despite his size and position, and his strength from the left side of the plate is what makes him stand out as a catcher long-term for fantasy purposes. Briceno could stand to improve his plate discipline, but if he can do that early on next year at Toledo, he could force the Tigers' hand for an MLB promotion in 2027.

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone told Talkin' Yanks that left-hander Carlos Rodon (elbow) will make another minor-league rehab start on either Thursday or Friday. In his first rehab start on Saturday with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Rodon allowed three runs with two walks in 2 2/3 innings pitched. He was only able to throw 46 pitches over the weekend, so the Yankees want to get the veteran southpaw a little bit more stretched out before reinstating him from the 15-day injured list to rejoin the big-league starting rotation. Rodon is recovering from left-elbow inflammation after also getting a late start to the 2026 season following surgery last October to have loose bodies removed from his elbow. When available this year, the three-time All-Star has been solid for fantasy managers, going 4-2 with a 3.30 ERA (3.44 FIP) and 1.25 WHIP with 52 strikeouts and 26 walks in 46 1/3 innings across his nine starts. Rodon's career-high 13.4% walk rate isn't pretty, but he still has the swing-and-miss stuff to make a difference down the stretch if he can bounce back from his latest elbow injury. He's rostered in over 80% of Yahoo leagues.

Minnesota Twins right-hander Joe Ryan (glute) played catch on flat ground on Monday, according to AaronGleeman.com. Ryan is already throwing after being placed on the 15-day injured list with a left-glute strain last Friday. The 30-year-old veteran could have a chance to return to the Twins' starting rotation when he's eligible to come off the IL on Aug. 21, but that remains to be seen. Ryan struggled to repeat his delivery since the All-Star break, which led to the Twins shutting him down for at least two weeks. His poor results so far in the second half can be attributed to his glute injury. Overall, Ryan, a two-time All-Star, is 6-8 with a 3.65 ERA (3.42 FIP) and 1.14 WHIP with 138 strikeouts and 27 walks in 125 2/3 innings and 23 starts. He's seen a slight drop in his strikeout rate (26.4%), but his command remains stellar with a 5.2% walk rate in his sixth year in the majors. Ryan needs to remain stashed in all fantasy formats with his return potentially right around the corner.

Tampa Bay Rays prospect Brody Hopkins has struggled a bit lately for Triple-A Durham and is coming off a start in which he allowed five earned runs and walked five batters in one inning. All in all, Hopkins has a 4-8 record this season with a 5.40 ERA and a 1.75 WHIP with 106 strikeouts in 85 innings pitched. Hopkins is the No. 5 prospect in the Rays' system and has a 60-grade fastball and curveball with a 55-grade slider and cutter. The 24-year-old is looking to debut this season for the Rays and certainly has the stuff to be a solid MLB starter. Those fantasy managers looking to take a chance could go for Hopkins on the waiver wire in advance of his call up looking to get ahead of the pack. Based on his most recent results an MLB debut is not guaranteed this year but at 24 years old, he is the right age for a chance at a debut.

Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (hip) worked out on the field and took batting practice on Monday before the team's game at Target Field, according to LaVelle E. Neal III of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Manager Derek Shelton said it was a "very encouraging workout" for Buxton, who is currently on the 10-day injured list with a right-hip impingement. The 32-year-old veteran had been progressing slowly from his hip injury, but Monday represented some real progress. It's unclear when Buxton might be able to rejoin the major-league roster, but Shelton did note that he is not expected to go on a minor-league rehab assignment before returning, which makes us think he will most likely be back before the end of August, barring a setback. The three-time All-Star is limping to the finish line in 2026, but he's had a fine season to this point, slashing .263/.320/.544 with an .864 OPS, 25 home runs, 45 RBI, 57 runs scored, and seven steals in 82 games played after clubbing a career-high 35 long balls with 83 RBI and 24 steals in 2025. Buxton remains rostered in nearly all Yahoo leagues (95%) while he rehabs from his hip injury.

Pittsburgh Pirates outfield prospect Jhostynxon Garcia was called up to Pittsburgh on July 29 after spending most of the season with the Triple-A Indianapolis Indians. Garcia has played 19 games with Pittsburgh and has 47 at-bats with a .170 batting average and no homers, with two RBI and two runs scored. The right-handed hitting 23-year-old is off to a slow start with his new big league club after debuting briefly with the Red Sox last season. Garcia has already received an extended opportunity with the Pirates. The No. 5 overall prospect for Pittsburgh has yet to show off his skills at the big league level and thus can be left on the waiver wire in most fantasy leagues. He's combined for 10 homers and 35 runs in the minors this season between two levels but has yet to showcase that ability for the big league club.
