The HDFL's preseason free agency period begins on Saturday, May 23^rd at 9 am CT.  Please read this Preseason free agency period rules refresher. 

• Unlimited free-agent pickups.  No waiver wire.  It’s first-come, first-served.  
  •  Any player cut from a roster will be inactive for 2 days.  After the inactive period, the player will enter the free-agent player pool.  
• No increases to your post-draft active roster size through free agency, if it contains 26 or more players.
  •  If you pick up a player, you must drop one off your active roster
    • The Taxi Squad is NOT part of your active roster. 
• You can increase your roster size in a couple of situations.
  1. If your active roster is below 26 players.
     • In this case, you can add players through free agency to increase your active roster up to 26.
  2. Trades with uneven numbers of players.
     • When you increase your roster size through trade, that is your new post-draft roster size.
     • If you reduce your roster size through trade, that is your new post-draft roster size. 
  3. Activating a player from your taxi squad.
     • Once a non-rookie is removed from the Taxi Squad, he can never be put back on the Taxi Squad.
• During the Preseason, you can freely move ROOKIES on and off your Taxi Squad 
  • This is available now.  No need to wait for the Free Agency start date.
    • Don't forget that selecting a "negative sign" on any roster/taxi squad page is cutting that player from your team. 
  • Only rookies can be added to the Taxi Squad.
    • You can select up to 3 rookies to be added each year.  
      • The settings don't allow me to limit the number added each year, only the maximum.  So we need to police ourselves and make sure we do not add more than 3 current-year rookies.  
    • The Taxi Squad can house a maximum of 7 players.
  • Your Taxi Squad must be set before the first game of the NFL season.
    • Once the NFL season starts, no Taxi Squad additions can be made.    
  • Remember, once a non-rookie is removed from the Taxi Squad, he can never be put back on the Taxi Squad.
• All owners will be required to cut their active roster to 26 players before the beginning of the season.  The commissioner will provide a deadline later in the preseason.
• IR roster spots are now available
  • You have three IR spots.
  • Any player designated "OUT" or worse by RTSports is eligible for the IR.
    • Adding players to your IR reduces your active roster.
  • Players must be removed from the IR once their designation makes them ineligible
    • They must be added back to your active roster or cut from your team at that point.

Because none of us is perfect, we will have a 1-hour grace period for unintentional active roster decreases/increases to be corrected by the owner. This means:

• If you notice that you accidentally reduce/increase your active roster size or other issues, and you can correct it easily, just do the correction.
  • The time stamps on transactions will allow me to determine if it is legal.
• Some mistakes might take my involvement to correct.
  • Like accidentally cutting a player or removing them from the Taxi Squad.
  • If you do this, contact me immediately (email/text). I will see if it is something I can/should fix. 

I will check the transactions regularly to ensure we are doing everything correctly.  If you notice a roster move that you think is incorrect, please contact me so I can check it out.
