Prescott can come up big Week 7

Scoring was really down last week. We did have some top offenses on bye, though, including the Bengals, Lions and Vikings. This can have a big impact on fantasy scoring when elite players aren’t playing. Just keep that in mind when looking at last week’s scores. These low-scoring fantasy weeks won’t likely be the norm going forward. Just something to keep in mind.

Now for my random thoughts for the week. . . .

Some of the coaching decisions we see on a weekly basis in the NFL continue to be mind-boggling, including decisions from coaches with very good reputations. It is becoming an epidemic. I just don’t get how some of this stuff happens, especially with all the coaches on a staff. Some of these coaches have too big of egos and think they are smarter than everyone else. I really think that is part of the problem. It has not been good, though. Coaches are costing their teams games.

My favorite stat from last week was that if JJ McCarthy had played a full game, he would have thrown for more than 1,000 yards at that pace. Haha. That is crazy. What a show he put on after getting his chance in the fourth quarter. I don’t know if he has finally figured it out, but I might give him a chance going forward. Jameis Winston continues to be all over the place. Can McCarthy at least do what Winston is doing? I think so, and I’m all for giving McCarthy a shot. That was fun to watch last week.

And speaking of the Giants, what the heck are they doing with Cam Skattebo? Sure, the fumbles are a problem, but benching him is not in the best interest of the team. He is clearly their best back. The Giants started Najee Harris last week, and he looks washed up. He wasn’t even on a team to start the year. To make matters even worse, the Giants released him Tuesday, which shows you where things stand. Just complete craziness.

Jayden Daniels might not be playing well for the Commanders, but he is doing just fine for fantasy owners. He has scored at least 24 fantasy points in two straight games since returning from his dislocated elbow. His decision-making remains very questionable, but that doesn’t really hurt his fantasy numbers. And it isn’t like the Commanders are going to bench him. As long as he is playing, consider Daniels a solid QB1. The numbers don’t lie.

If you can still buy low on Colston Loveland, go for it. He is just starting to come into his own. He has scored 11-plus fantasy points in two of his last three games. He started the year with just one catch through his first two games, but his production has picked up since then. He had a similar stretch last year, failing to reach double-digit fantasy points until Week 9. He then had double-digit points in six of his final 10 games, including three games with 20-plus points. He has a chance to really kick it into gear from this point forward.

Here’s hoping Mike Evans isn’t hurt too badly. I could not be more impressed with his play this year. I wasn’t buying him at all before the season. I just didn’t trust him at his age or after his play last year. He has been absolutely fantastic, though. He looks as good as ever, and his rapport with Brock Purdy has been top-notch. He can be a top-10 fantasy receiver the rest of the way in this offense as long as he stays healthy. It has been fun to watch him and Purdy this year.

There are reports that Seahawks running back Zach Charbonnet could make his season debut this week. I’m really anxious to see how he is used. He might be eased into action as he returns from a major injury, but he could have a big role in this offense sooner rather than later. Emmanuel Wilson has been fine as the starter for the Seahawks, but Charbonnet has a better skill set and knows this offense well. He could end up being a difference-maker for fantasy teams before the season is over.

News and Notes

Giants: The Giants released running back Najee Harris on Tuesday. Harris was somewhat critical of the coaching staff after last week’s game, which likely contributed to his release. Harris started in Week 6 but is now looking for work.

Ravens: The Ravens signed kicker Jake Moody to their practice squad Monday. He will compete with Tyler Loop, who has endured some struggles this season.

Dolphins: The Dolphins signed kicker Zane Gonzalez to their practice squad and released kicker Riley Patterson on Tuesday. Gonzalez is expected to take over the starting kicking duties now that he is healthy.

Rams: The Rams signed kicker Brandon McManus on Tuesday. This is the Rams’ third kicker of the season, but the move was necessary after Blake Grupe was injured last week.

HOT PLAYS

Dak Prescott, QB, Cowboys

Prescott has really cooled off in recent weeks, failing to top 18 fantasy points in two straight games. He had his worst game of the fantasy season last week in what looked like a favorable matchup against the Packers. He scored just one touchdown and turned the ball over twice. He still has too many top weapons around him to give up on him. He can bounce back from a couple of bad games this week against the Eagles. Philadelphia allows the eighth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks and is reeling right now.

Jaylen Warren, RB, Steelers

Warren had a down game last week, failing to reach double-digit fantasy points. He was up against the Bucs’ elite run defense, though. Don’t get down on him because of one game. Remember, he had three straight games with 100-plus total yards before last week. Warren will be just fine. We like him to rebound in a big way against New Orleans this week. The Saints allow the most fantasy points to running backs and rank 30th overall against the run, allowing 138 rushing yards per game.

Bucky Irving, RB, Bucs

Irving hasn’t produced much in recent weeks, failing to top eight fantasy points in three of his last four games. He has faced some really good defenses, though, including the Steelers, Packers and Vikings. We wouldn’t give up on Irving. He still gets about all the work at running back and is capable of having a big game any given week. A matchup against the Panthers in Week 7 is a good one for Irving. Carolina allows the fifth-most fantasy points to running backs and ranks just 27th overall against the run, allowing 132.2 rushing yards per game.

Jalen Coker, WR, Panthers

Coker returned to the lineup last week after missing the previous two games and picked up right where he left off, catching six passes for 97 yards on 13 targets. Remember, he had eight receptions in each of his first two games to start the season before getting hurt in Week 3. He is a huge part of this emerging Panthers passing game. Coker keeps getting it done and seems set up for another strong showing this week against the Bucs. Tampa Bay is elite against the run but allowed two Steelers receivers to rack up double-digit receptions last week. The Bucs allow the 13th-most fantasy points to receivers.

Tucker Kraft, TE, Packers

Kraft is starting to trend in the right direction after a slow start to the year. He has at least five receptions in three straight games and has scored double-digit fantasy points in two of his last three. Expectations were high for him coming into the year, but Kraft hasn’t quite lived up to them yet. Things are getting better, though, and Kraft has a dream matchup this week against the Lions, who allow the most fantasy points to tight ends this season. The Lions have allowed tight ends to score more than 40 fantasy points in two of their last three games.

COLD PLAYS

Jared Goff, QB, Lions

Goff is having a huge season in the Lions’ elite offense, ranking second overall in fantasy quarterback scoring. He has four straight games with 22-plus fantasy points and at least 269 passing yards in each of those games. Goff gets it done on a weekly basis. It is hard to bench him, but you might want to temper your expectations in Week 7. He faces his toughest matchup of the season against the Packers. Green Bay’s defense has really turned things around lately and allows the fifth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks. The Packers have allowed fewer than 15 points in three straight games, facing the Cowboys and Bears during that stretch.

D’Andre Swift, RB, Bears

Swift has produced consistent numbers in the Bears’ top offense. He has scored double-digit fantasy points in all but one game. One concern is that his rushing numbers have been down lately. He has fewer than 50 rushing yards in two straight games. His fantasy numbers were helped by finding the end zone in both contests. He had similar numbers in Week 4 against the Jets but didn’t score a touchdown and finished with just 8.4 fantasy points. Swift might struggle to find the end zone this week against the Patriots. New England allows just 91.8 rushing yards per game. His numbers could be down in Week 7.

Josh Downs, WR, Colts

Downs is trending in the wrong direction. He is getting looks but just isn’t doing much with them. He has at least three receptions in three straight games but has failed to top nine fantasy points in any of those contests. Downs gets another unfavorable matchup this week against the Vikings, a team that might have the best defense in football. Minnesota allows the fifth-fewest fantasy points to receivers and has allowed 16 or fewer points in four straight games. Go with safer options at receiver in Week 7.

Travis Kelce, TE, Chiefs

Kelce just keeps chugging along and producing good numbers. He has scored fewer than 10 fantasy points in two straight games after opening the season with three consecutive double-digit performances. He has been a little more up and down lately. Kelce gets a tough matchup this week against a great Seahawks defense. Seattle has not allowed a tight end to score double-digit fantasy points since Week 2. Kelce might be best left on fantasy benches this week.

Tre Tucker, WR, Raiders

Tucker had his best game of the season last week, scoring 26.7 fantasy points. He had five receptions for 97 yards and two touchdowns on seven targets. Tucker has been all over the map this season, though. He has two games with 20-plus fantasy points and four games with fewer than nine points. He is the ultimate boom-or-bust play, making him a risky weekly option for fantasy teams. We might not take a chance on him this week against the Rams, who allow the fourth-fewest fantasy points to receivers. Los Angeles ranks second overall against the pass, giving up just 167 passing yards per game.

SLEEPERS

Kyler Murray, QB, Vikings

Murray had his best game as a Viking the last time out. He topped 20 fantasy points, throwing for 229 yards and a touchdown. He also made more plays on the ground, rushing for 51 yards. He is starting to become more comfortable in the Vikings’ offense and can build on that performance this week. Murray has a great matchup against the Colts, who allow the 12th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Indianapolis has allowed at least 26 points in four of its six games.

Dameon Pierce, RB, Eagles

Pierce got his first start of the season last week and played 95 percent of the snaps. He was out there for nearly every play. Pierce didn’t produce huge numbers but got touches and found the end zone, scoring 15 fantasy points. He could improve on that performance this week against a terrible Cowboys defense. Dallas allows the 10th-most fantasy points to running backs and has allowed at least 20 points in every game this season. Pierce is a good option as a flex play or RB2 for fantasy teams in Week 7.

Jordan Watkins, WR, 49ers

Watkins has just three receptions on three targets this season. He has made some big plays with those opportunities, totaling 82 yards on the three catches. Watkins played the most snaps of any 49ers receiver last week, seeing the field for 76 percent of the offensive plays. He played a lot after Mike Evans was injured, and that could be the case again in Week 7. Watkins could do well with that much playing time this week against the Falcons, who allow the sixth-most fantasy points to receivers. Atlanta has allowed at least 30 points in two straight games, making Watkins a deep sleeper for fantasy teams.

AJ Barner, TE, Seahawks

Barner has been more bad than good for fantasy teams this year. He has just one game with double-digit fantasy points. He does have at least three receptions in two straight games and three of his last four. He gets some weekly opportunities in this offense, so the potential for a big game is there. One of those big games could come this week against the Chiefs, a team that really struggles against tight ends. Kansas City allows the third-most fantasy points to tight ends and was torched by the position in Week 4 against the Raiders. Barner might be worth a shot for fantasy teams looking for a tight end this week.

Makai Lemon, WR, Eagles

Lemon is starting to get more looks, with at least six targets in three straight games. He is also playing a lot, logging 81 percent of the snaps last week, the highest mark among Eagles receivers. Lemon has yet to have a game with double-digit fantasy points, but it seems like only a matter of time before that happens. Why not this week against the Cowboys? Dallas is a mess defensively and allows the seventh-most fantasy points to receivers. The Cowboys rank just 23rd overall against the pass.

High/Low Scoring Games

Each week, we’ll take a look at some of the high- and low-scoring games for the coming week. In high-scoring affairs, get your marginal players from those teams into your lineup to take advantage of a possible points barrage. In the low-scoring games, keep those marginal players on the bench and make sure to have your defenses involved in those contests.

High-Scoring Games

Patriots/Bears, Bengals/Ravens, 49ers/Falcons, Packers/Lions.

Low-Scoring Games

Browns/Titans, Dolphins/Jets.

Bye Weeks

Bills, Jaguars, Chargers, Commanders.

Bender's Last Minute Starts/Sits: Week 7

Player Notes
CeeDee Lamb Oct 27 12:00am ET
CeeDee Lamb

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb had a couple of impressive catches to help the Cowboys dismantle the banged-up Philadelphia Eagles by a score of 38-21 on Monday Night Football. Lamb was by far quarterback Dak Prescott's favorite weapon in the win, as he caught five of a team-high 12 targets for a team-high 74 yards and two touchdowns. George Pickens saw half the number of targets, although he found the end zone as well. The 27-year-old five-time Pro Bowler now has six touchdown receptions this year after he was overshadowed by Pickens in 2025 and finished with just three touchdown catches in 14 games played. Lamb now has 70-plus receiving yards in five of his last six games and will be a set-and-forget fantasy receiver once again for a plus Week 8 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday.

Javonte Williams Oct 26 11:50pm ET
Javonte Williams

Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams and the Cowboys' run game was finally able to break out in the 38-21 victory on Monday Night Football against the banged-up Philadelphia Eagles. Williams had big holes to run through all night and finished with 25 carries for a season-high 155 yards (6.2 yards per attempt) and one touchdown. He was not targeted at all in the passing game. It was a nice bounce-back performance for the 26-year-old after he had a season-low 11 rushing attempts for 41 yards in last week's loss to the Green Bay Packers. Despite the fact that Williams came into Monday's game with under 4.0 yards per carry, he has now found the end zone in each of the five games and has eight rushing touchdowns through the first seven weeks of the 2026 campaign. He has had a nose for the end zone so far after his 2025 breakout in his first year in Dallas, and he will be a good bet to find paydirt again in a strong Week 8 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. If Dallas can continue to run the ball like they did on Monday night, they will be a very tough offense to stop.

Makai Lemon Oct 26 11:40pm ET
Makai Lemon

Philadelphia Eagles rookie first-round wide receiver Makai Lemon is a priority waiver-wire addition heading into Week 8 after both DeVonta Smith (hamstring) and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) missed the team's 38-21 loss to the division-rival Dallas Cowboys on Monday night. With both of Philly's top two receivers out of action, Lemon led the team in targets (eight), receptions (seven), and receiving yards (67) while scoring the first touchdown of his career. The 22-year-old 20th overall pick from USC came into Monday's tilt with only 18 receptions for 127 yards on 28 targets in his first six NFL games. Lemon's fantasy upside should be tempered with quarterback Jalen Hurts (blood clots) out for the rest of the season, but he could continue to operate as the team's WR1 if both Smith and Wicks are unavailable for a second straight game in Week 8 on Sunday night against the division-rival Washington Commanders. In Lemon's NFL debut in the Week 1 win over Washington, he hauled in three of his four targets for a loss of five yards. Lemon is currently rostered in only 37% of Yahoo leagues.

From RotoBaller

Dameon Pierce Oct 26 11:30pm ET
Dameon Pierce

Philadelphia Eagles running back Dameon Pierce (undisclosed) led the Eagles' backfield with 14 carries for 47 yards and a touchdown in the 38-21 Monday night loss to the division-rival Dallas Cowboys despite the return of starting RB Saquon Barkley, but he suffered an undisclosed injury on a kickoff return in the fourth quarter, was seen heading to the locker room with a trainer, and did not return. Barkley ended a two-game absence due to a hamstring injury, but he was hobbled from the start of Monday's game and was eventually listed as questionable to return due to a back injury in the second half. With both Barkley and Pierce going down with injuries against Dallas, Elijah Mitchell was the last man standing in the Eagles' backfield. Remember, Tank Bigsby (abdomen) and Will Shipley (foot) are currently on Injured Reserve for a decimated Eagles offense. Pierce, who is rostered in 51% of Yahoo leagues, should still be considered a waiver-wire option going into the team's Week 8 contest on Sunday night against the division-rival Washington Commanders now that Barkley is dealing with a new injury. Check back for an injury update on Pierce on Tuesday. If his injury is serious enough to cause him to miss time, Mitchell would become a must-add off the waiver wire.

From RotoBaller

Saquon Barkley Oct 26 11:00pm ET
Saquon Barkley

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley (back) is questionable to return in the second half of Monday night's game against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys due to a back injury, according to Brooks Kubena of The Athletic. Barkley was questionable coming into Monday's game due to a hamstring injury that kept him sidelined for the team's previous two games, but he was cleared to suit up. The 29-year-old came up gimpy after his first run of the game, though, and he was seen wincing on the sidelines throughout the game while mixing in occasionally in the backfield with Dameon Pierce. Barkley had only seven rushing attempts for 62 yards (8.9 yards per carry) and one touchdown despite playing through his hamstring injury. Coming out of halftime, Barkley was seen being stretched out on the sidelines while yielding most of the backfield work to Pierce. On a short week going into the Week 8 contest on Sunday night against the division-rival Washington Commanders, Barkley may have a tough time being cleared to play this weekend. If he is questionable again, he will once again be a pretty risky fantasy option with Philly's game coming on Sunday evening. If Barkley misses more time going forward, Pierce will have RB2 upside as the team's primary RB.

From RotoBaller

James Conner Oct 26 10:50pm ET
James Conner

Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner (foot) has yet to take a snap this season, but it sounds like he could play at some point. Head coach Mike LaFleur recently said that Conner could potentially return to the field this season. The 31-year-old remains on the Injured Reserve and has yet to have his 21-day practice window opened. He's still working his way back from a foot injury that sidelined him for most of last season. Fantasy managers in deep leagues who can afford the roster spot should consider stashing Conner. He'll likely be a depth option once healthy, but he could still help fantasy managers at some point this season.

From RotoBaller

Dylan Sampson Oct 26 10:50pm ET
Dylan Sampson

Cleveland Browns running back Dylan Sampson made his return to the field during the Week 7 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. He made his return after missing the last five games due to a knee injury. Sampson rushed the ball six times for 45 yards and hauled in all three of his targets for 32 additional yards in the win over the Titans. The 22-year-old is clearly the No. 2 back in Cleveland, but he has shown that he can be a solid contributor when healthy. The expectation is that his role will continue to grow as long as he keeps playing like this every week. Sampson is looking like an interesting stash option in 12-team formats ahead of the Week 8 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

From RotoBaller

Jonathon Brooks Oct 26 10:40pm ET
Jonathon Brooks

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks (abdomen) has not played since Week 2, but he'll hopefully get back on the field soon. Recently, head coach Dave Canales said Brooks was trending in the right direction. The 23-year-old remains on the Injured Reserve right now, so his chances of playing in Week 8 are slim. It wouldn't be shocking to see Brooks back within the next few games, given the fact that he is making progress. He figures to eat into Chuba Hubbard's playing time once Brooks is cleared to play. Fantasy managers who can afford to be patient should consider stashing Brooks, with his return hopefully coming soon.

From RotoBaller

Kimani Vidal Oct 26 10:30pm ET
Kimani Vidal

Los Angeles Chargers running back Kimani Vidal has seen an expanded role in the backfield as of late. In Week 6, Vidal carried the ball seven times for 21 yards and hauled in three of his four targets for 19 additional yards. Vidal has seen five or more carries in three straight games and three or more targets in three of his last four contests. He appears to be gaining a steady role in the backfield, which could make him an interesting option against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8. There could be some deep league flex value from Vidal for this Week 8 contest.

From RotoBaller

Pat Freiermuth Oct 26 10:20pm ET
Pat Freiermuth

Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth is coming off another lousy performance, but he's still a decent fantasy option. Over the last two games, Freiermuth has hauled in four receptions for 31 yards. It has been a struggle for the big tight end, but he's still the TE11 at the moment despite some lackluster performances. He has seen four or more targets in every game but one this season. He should continue to stay involved against the Cleveland Browns in Week 8. Fantasy managers looking for an option with their tight end on a bye week should consider snagging Freiermuth. He has a good track record despite some sluggish performances as of late.

From RotoBaller

Chris Rodriguez Jr. Oct 26 10:00pm ET
Chris Rodriguez Jr.

Across six games in 2026, Jacksonville Jaguars running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. has recorded 39 carries for 168 yards and two touchdowns. While the 26-year-old has seen a relatively consistent workload, he appears to be settling into a clear number-two role in the Jacksonville backfield behind fellow Jaguars back Bhayshul Tuten. Still, Rodriguez Jr. is a physical and effective short-yardage rusher who could continue to see opportunities at the goal line, and Jaguars head coach and play caller Liam Coen has orchestrated offenses that support fantasy production from multiple backs in the past. Even if Rodriguez Jr. is unable to establish standalone value, he carries significant upside if Tuten were to suffer an injury. All in all, Rodriguez Jr. profiles as a worthy waiver wire target for fantasy managers heading into Week 8.

From RotoBaller

Demario Douglas Oct 26 9:50pm ET
Demario Douglas

New England Patriots wide receiver DeMario Douglas put up a dud in his team's Week 7 loss to the Chicago Bears, recording three catches for 23 yards on four targets. However, the 25-year-old had been playing very well coming into the game, logging 11 receptions for 151 yards and three touchdowns on 13 targets across his last two contests. Despite the setback against Chicago, Douglas should still have a window to contribute in the New England passing game. Patriots wide receivers Romeo Doubs (shoulder) and Mack Hollins (calf) are both currently on Injured Reserve. The Patriots also have a favorable schedule on paper, with matchups against the Miami Dolphins, Green Bay Packers, and Detroit Lions over the next three weeks. Even off the disappointing week, Douglas carries clear appeal on the waiver wire.

From RotoBaller

Chigoziem Okonkwo Oct 26 9:50pm ET
Chigoziem Okonkwo

Washington Commanders tight end Chig Okonkwo has largely been off fantasy radars so far in 2026, as he got off to a slow start to the season before missing time with a hamstring injury. However, the 27-year-old picked up his production in his final two outings before Washington's Week 7 bye, recording a combined 11 catches for 129 yards on 13 targets. The Commanders will also be down a significant weapon for the remainder of the season, as they lost star wide receiver Terry McLaurin (knee) to a season-ending knee injury in Week 6. For fantasy managers in need of tight end help, Okonkwo profiles as an intriguing player to target on the waiver wire.

From RotoBaller

Malik Washington Oct 26 9:40pm ET
Malik Washington

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Malik Washington had a quiet game in Week 7, recording just three catches for 27 yards on three targets in his team's win over the New York Jets. However, Washington has been the most consistent target earner in Miami this season, hauling in 26 catches for 289 yards on 39 targets across six games. Washington may not have high-end upside as a downfield or red zone target, but he's been a reliable security blanket in the short and intermediate areas of the field for Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis. If the recent injury return of rookie wideout Caleb Douglas can help put more pressure on opposing defenses over the top, Washington could have even more success as an underneath target going forward. In PPR leagues, Washington profiles as a high-floor wide receiver streamer to target on the waiver wire.

From RotoBaller

Mike Washington Jr. Oct 26 9:30pm ET
Mike Washington Jr.

Across seven games in 2026, Las Vegas Raiders rookie running back Mike Washington Jr. has recorded 206 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 43 touches. The 23-year-old has reached 10 touches in just two of his seven games played, a trend that could continue as long as Raiders RB1 Ashton Jeanty remains healthy. However, Jeanty has had major issues as a rusher in 2026, as he's averaging just 3.1 yards per carry and has not reached 30 rushing yards in a game since Week 4. Washington Jr. has been significantly more efficient on the ground (4.9 yards per carry) and could start to steal early-down work from Jeanty. Additionally, Washington Jr. carries major upside in the event of an injury to Jeanty. Coming out of Week 7, Washington Jr. profiles as a high-end handcuff running back for fantasy managers to target on the waiver wire.

From RotoBaller

Dave Canales Oct 26 9:30pm ET
Dave Canales

Carolina Panthers right tackle Taylor Moton (ankle, leg) will have season-ending ankle surgery while also recovering from a fractured fibula in his left leg, head coach Dave Canales told ESPN's Mike Kaye on Monday. "He's got a fracture in his fibula, up high, below the knee," Canales said. "It was really the ankle that got damaged the most with ligaments and all that. So, he'll have a procedure, and that'll put him out for the rest of the year." The 32-year-old veteran offensive lineman was carted off the field in the third quarter on Sunday in the 43-13 blowout loss to the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It was Moton's second game back from offseason blood-clot treatment, which sidelined him from the start of training camp through the first four games of the regular season while on the Non-Football Injury list. Replacement Monroe Freeling allowed three QB pressures in 22 passing sets after replacing Moton on Sunday. With Moton now out for the year, Rasheed Walker will stay at left tackle despite giving up three sacks and seven total pressures against the Bucs.

Keaton Mitchell Oct 26 9:20pm ET
Keaton Mitchell

Across six games in 2026, Los Angeles Chargers running back Keaton Mitchell has recorded 191 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 42 touches. Coming into the year, the 24-year-old was expected to play a backup role behind fellow Chargers back Omarion Hampton. However, Los Angeles has recently shifted to a three-way backfield committee that features Hampton, Mitchell, and Kimani Vidal. Mitchell saw very minimal usage in the Chargers' final game before their Week 7 bye, recording two carries for four yards in Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Still, the Chargers' uncertain backfield roles could create an opportunity for Mitchell to break through as the team's preferred option. In deeper leagues, Mitchell could be worth targeting on the waiver wire heading into Week 8.

From RotoBaller

Deebo Samuel Oct 26 8:40pm ET
Deebo Samuel

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Monday that veteran wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. (hamstring) will have a chance to return in Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders after the team's Week 8 bye, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports. The same can be said for Mike Evans (Achilles, rib) and Demarcus Robinson (ankle). Samuel injured his hamstring in the Week 5 win over the division-rival Seattle Seahawks and has missed the last two games going into the bye. With Evans and Samuel inactive on Sunday in the Week 7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, tight end George Kittle led the team in receiving, with Jordan Watkins leading the receiving corps. Reinforcements appear to be on their way following the Week 8 bye, which will be great news for quarterback Brock Purdy. The 30-year-old Samuel has caught 16 passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns in five games so far in 2026, but with San Francisco getting healthier at the position, the veteran could find targets and touches harder to come by as the season progresses. He has also seen nine rushing attempts for 78 yards.

From RotoBaller

James Conner Oct 26 8:40pm ET
James Conner

When asked if running back James Conner (foot) will be able to play this season, Arizona Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur said, "potentially," according to Dani Sureck of the team's official website. There were reports several weeks ago that Conner was on the verge of returning to practice, but the Cardinals have yet to open the 31-year-old veteran's 21-day practice window to return from IR. The former third-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017 out of Pittsburgh played in just three games in his ninth year in the NFL in 2025 before suffering a season-ending foot injury that he has yet to return from. Even if the Cardinals trade Tyler Allgeier by the Nov. 10 deadline, Conner could be buried on the RB depth chart in Arizona if he returns this year behind rookie first-rounder Jeremiyah Love and Bam Knight. The two-time Pro Bowler must return to practice to even be an option for fantasy managers in deep leagues to stash for RB depth. Conner had his first two 1,000-yard rushing seasons in 2023 and 2024 before suffering his foot injury last year. Right now, Conner is only rostered in 6% of Yahoo leagues.

Dillon Gabriel Oct 26 8:20pm ET
Dillon Gabriel

The Cleveland Browns announced on Monday that they activated quarterback Dillon Gabriel (back) from Injured Reserve. In a corresponding move, the Browns released tight end Carsen Ryan. Gabriel, a third-rounder in 2025, has appeared in 10 games (six starts) and has thrown for 937 yards with seven touchdowns and two interceptions. Now that the 25-year-old is healthy, he will slot in as Cleveland's No. 3 signal-caller behind veteran Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders. The Browns also have rookie Taylen Green on the roster. Barring injuries to Watson and Sanders, Gabriel will be fighting an uphill battle for playing time in 2026 in his second season in the NFL.
