Aaron Hicks Tue May 30 1:53pm ET

Free-agent OF Aaron Hicks (Yankees) is reportedly close to agreeing to terms on a contract with the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday, May 30.

Victor Arano Tue May 30 1:43pm ET

Washington Nationals RHP Victor Arano (shoulder) has been shut down from throwing after experiencing renewed soreness in his shoulder during a bullpen session earlier this month.

Carson Fulmer Tue May 30 1:23pm ET

Free-agent RHP Carson Fulmer signed a minor-league contract with the Los Angeles Angels and was assigned to the team's Arizona Complex League affiliate Tuesday, May 30.

Lucas Erceg Tue May 30 1:00pm ET

Oakland Athletics rookie right-hander Lucas Erceg picked up his first victory of the year on Monday in the 7-2 win over the visiting Atlanta Braves by tossing three shutout innings. Erceg didn't allow a hit or a walk while striking out four in the impressive outing. The 28-year-old reliever hasn't allowed a run in his last four relief appearances and now holds a shiny 1.29 ERA (2.14 FIP), 1.14 WHIP, four walks and 10 strikeouts in seven innings over the first five relief outings of his major-league career. If Erceg continues to be this dominant, manager Mark Kotsay may have no choice but to use him in more high-leverage situations near the back of the bullpen.

Jarred Kelenic Tue May 30 12:40pm ET

Seattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic continued to produce for his fantasy managers in the team's 10-4 loss to the visiting New York Yankees on Monday night, when he went 2-for-4 with a run scored, a strikeout and his seventh stolen base of the season. Kelenic's seventh stolen base of the year set a new career-high. Along with the stolen bases, the 23-year-old is rewarding those that bought into his post-hype breakout in 2023. After Monday's performance, Kelenic is now hitting .283 (54-for-191) with 14 doubles, a triple, 10 home runs, 26 RBI, seven steals and 27 runs scored in 52 games. He's finishing the month of May strong, too, going 13-for-46 (.283) with three doubles, two home runs and five RBI in his last 12 games.

Billy Hamilton Tue May 30 12:30pm ET

Chicago White Sox outfielder Billy Hamilton (hamstring) could begin a minor-league rehab assignment in the next week to 10 days, according to general manager Rick Hahn. Hamilton has been sidelined since May 10 due to a left-hamstring strain, but he could return to the White Sox in early June as long as he doesn't have any setbacks with his hammy on his rehab assignment. The 32-year-old speedster is hitless in just two at-bats for the Pale Hose over three games this year, and he won't be guaranteed a spot on the team's active roster once Chicago deems he's healthy enough to return. Even if Hamilton rejoins the White Sox, he'll continue to serve as a bench player mostly for his speed on the basepaths.

    From RotoBaller

Romy Gonzalez Tue May 30 12:30pm ET

Chicago White Sox second baseman Romy Gonzalez went 1-for-3 with his second home run in as many days, an RBI, run scored and a strikeout in the 6-4 loss to the visiting Los Angeles Angels on Memorial Day on Monday evening. Gonzalez didn't record a single hit in his first 58 trips to the plate this year, but he's now cleared the fences for his first two home runs in the last two days. The 26-year-old is now hitting .206 (13-for-63) with two doubles, two triples, two homers, 10 RBI, two steals and six runs scored in 31 games played in his third year in the majors. Gonzalez has earned more playing time at the keystone of late, but he's expected to head right back to the bench once Elvis Andrus (oblique) returns from the injured list sometime this weekend.

    From RotoBaller

Mike Clevinger Tue May 30 12:20pm ET

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Mike Clevinger (wrist) threw a simulated game before the series opener against the Los Angeles Angels on Monday. "It's just the new gyro slider I'm throwing," Clevinger said. "It's kind of like a position with my hand I probably haven't done before. It's just an adjustment with my body. It's the same thing if you're doing hip mobility in the weight room. That first day you find some new ranges, you're going to cramp up." General manager Rick Hahn said that Clevinger could come off the 15-day injured list before the end of the team's homestand this weekend. The 32-year-old is dealing with right-wrist inflammation and hasn't pitched since May 17. Clevinger will be returning to a 4.56 ERA (5.10 FIP), 1.46 WHIP, 22 walks and 40 K's in 47 1/3 innings over his nine starts.

    From RotoBaller

Elvis Andrus Tue May 30 12:20pm ET

Chicago White Sox infielder Elvis Andrus (oblique) left the team on May 27 to begin a minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte. Manager Pedro Grifol said that as long as all goes well, Andrus should rejoin the big-league club at some point during their June 2-4 home series against the Detroit Tigers this weekend. The veteran infielder hurt himself swinging during a loss to the Houston Astros on May 12 and was put on the 10-day injured list the next day. The 34-year-old has gone 3-for-7 with a home run in two rehab games and looks ready to return to Chicago, where he's expected to resume his duties as the team's regular second baseman. Before his injury, Andrus was hitting just .201 (27-for-134) with four doubles, a homer, 13 RBI and five stolen bases in 39 games.

    From RotoBaller

Eloy Jimenez Tue May 30 12:20pm ET

Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez went 2-for-4 with his fifth home run of the season, two RBI, a run scored and a strikeout in the team's 6-4 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Memorial Day on Monday night. The long ball was Jimenez's first since returning from the injured list on Sunday. The 26-year-old Dominican has had trouble staying healthy in his career, but he's a dynamic outfielder when healthy and should continue to hit in the heart of Chicago's batting order. He's now slashing .269/.339/.462 with an .801 OPS, five doubles, five homers, 19 RBI and 14 runs scored in 115 trips to the plate and 27 games in 2023. Keep Jimenez in your starting fantasy lineups on a daily basis.

    From RotoBaller

Carson Fulmer Tue May 30 12:10pm ET

The Los Angeles Angels signed free-agent right-hander Carson Fulmer to a minor-league deal on Monday. Fulmer spent spring training trying to win a roster spot with the Seattle Mariners, but he was released and now latches on with the Angels. The 29-year-old reliever will likely report to Triple-A Salt Lake to provide the Halos with some bullpen depth for the time being. Fulmer hasn't seen any work in the big leagues since 2021, when he had a 6.66 ERA (4.69 FIP), 1.52 WHIP and 20.7 percent strikeout rate in 25 2/3 relief innings over 20 appearances out of the bullpen for the Cincinnati Reds. In six major-league seasons, he has a 6.41 ERA (5.93 FIP) and 1.58 WHIP in 130 2/3 innings. Fulmer isn't fantasy relevant.

    From RotoBaller

Nick Pratto Tue May 30 12:10pm ET

Kansas City Royals first baseman/outfielder Nick Pratto has adjusted well in his sophomore season, slashing .301/.395/.437 with two home runs, 14 runs, 13 RBI, and one steal across 30 games. His play has induced a lineup change, as he's led off five of the club's last seven games. Most of Pratto's value comes in OBP leagues, given his 11.8% walk rate and 12.0% career walk rate in the minors, but the 24-year-old has superb power potential and, with his new spot in the order, will provide fantasy managers will decent counting stats in all leagues.

    From RotoBaller

Harry Ford Tue May 30 11:50am ET

Seattle Mariners catching prospect Harry Ford hit his sixth home run of the season for High-A Everett. The 20-year-old is slashing .258/.432/.426 with 37 runs, 26 RBI, and eight stolen bases in 43 games this season. The British WBC star consistently ranks as one of Seattle's top prospects because of his impressive power and speed at the catcher position. While Ford won't see the majors soon, he's an elite catching prospect and is one of the best catching prospects in the dynasty format.

    From RotoBaller

Sandy Alcantara Tue May 30 11:50am ET

Miami Marlins right-hander Sandy Alcantara is taking the hill on Tuesday to start the game against Ryan Weathers and the San Diego Padres. He was solid in his last start, going six strong innings, giving up two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three in Colorado. Overall, Alcantara's struggled through 10 starts with a 2-5 record, 4.86 ERA and 1.22 WHIP, and has pitched to a 21.6% strikeout rate and 7.6% walk rate. After winning the Cy Young award in 2022 and posting a career 3.25 ERA, Miami's ace is still a must-start, especially against a Padres club with a team OPS of .699.

    From RotoBaller

Jose Trevino Tue May 30 10:10am ET

New York Yankees catcher Jose Trevino (hamstring) could return to the club before Tuesday's game against the Seattle Mariners, according to MLB.com. The 30-year-old has been on the shelf since May 18 after suffering a hamstring strain on May 17. Before going down, Trevino was slashing .219/.265/.333 with three homers, 11 runs, and 11 RBI over 30 contests and should only be rostered in two-catcher formats. Fantasy managers should expect Kyle Higashioka to lose the starting backstop role, so with his .214 average and .648 OPS, he can be dropped everywhere.

    From RotoBaller

    Tyler O'Neill Tue May 30 10:00am ET

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Tyler O'Neill (back) has been shut down from baseball activities for a third time after experiencing more discomfort in his lower back, according to MLB.com. The slugger has been out since May 4 but hasn't made much progress in his recovery, and manager Oliver Marmol said the team is "at a standstill." Before the injury, O'Neill was slashing .228/.283/.337 with two bombs, 12 runs, six RBI, and one stolen base over 29 games. There's no timetable for his return, but hopefully, he can come back as the player that went deep 34 times and swiped 15 bags in 2021.

    From RotoBaller

Dylan Carlson Tue May 30 9:50am ET

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Dylan Carlson (ankle) began a running program and started hitting for the first time since hitting the injured list on Monday, according to MLB.com. The 24-year-old is nearing a rehab assignment and will likely need two or three games with Triple-A Memphis or Double-A Springfield. Carlson hasn't been in action since spraining his ankle on May 14 while leaving the batter's box on a hit but was slashing .230/.278/.350 with two homers, 12 runs, 12 RBI, and one steal across 32 games before that. The former top prospect has lost almost all of the hype he had prior to his debut in 2020, and he's mostly irrelevant in fantasy baseball.

    From RotoBaller

Tommy Kahnle Tue May 30 9:40am ET

New York Yankees right-hander Tommy Kahnle (biceps) will make another rehab appearance on Tuesday for Double-A Somerset, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. The 33-year-old has yet to pitch for the big league club in 2023 after suffering biceps tendinitis before the season began. Kahnle is on the verge of coming off the injured list, and manager Aaron Boone told reporters he could join the team for the weekend series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The former fifth-round pick in 2010 has been a solid arm over his career and posted a 2.84 ERA, 0.63 WHIP, and 30.4% strikeout rate over 12.2 innings last year. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect many save chances for Kahnle, but he might be relevant in hold leagues if he makes his way into late-inning work.

    From RotoBaller

Bobby Miller Tue May 30 9:30am ET

Los Angeles Dodgers rookie hurler Bobby Miller tossed another gem on Monday against the Washington Nationals, going six innings, allowing one run on four hits and a walk, and striking out four, earning his second win of the season in as many starts. He now owns a 1.64 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 21.4% strikeout rate. According to J.P. Hoornstra of SportsNet LA, Miller will get another chance on Sunday, starting against the New York Yankees. It'll be a good test for the 24-year-old, who was the club's second-best prospect before his promotion, as per MLB Pipeline. Manager Dave Roberts hasn't confirmed if Miller will be a mainstay in the rotation this season, but if he keeps pitching this well, he might not have a choice.

    From RotoBaller

Harrison Bader Tue May 30 9:20am ET

New York Yankees outfielder Harrison Bader (hamstring) exited Monday's 10-4 win over the Seattle Mariners with a right hamstring injury. According to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, the former Gold Glove winner is scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday, and manager Aaron Boone said it doesn't seem serious, but the team doesn't want to rule out a trip to the injured list before the testing. Fantasy managers should consider Bader day-to-day and check back for more updates. Hopefully, the 28-year-old doesn't have to miss more time after starting 2023 on the IL. Since returning to action on May 2, he's been a solid fantasy contributor, slashing .267/.295/.511 with six homers, 14 runs, 19 RBI, and six stolen bases over 26 games.
