Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz is hard to trust in fantasy starting lineups in Week 6. Even in a matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, who allow plenty of points to opposing tight ends, Schultz is a risky start because of his recent usage. He ran 29 pass routes in Week 5, but ended up being targeted just three times, catching only one. Before that, he'd made at least four catches or gained at least 48 yards in his previous three starts. He dealt with an injury at the end of the previous game, but it seemed more like a game plan issue in Week 5, as the Cowboys ran with four wide sets a bit more than usual. Schultz could be fine with Andy Dalton under center, but he enters Week 6 with a lower floor than usual and perhaps a limited ceiling as well. He's near the bottom of the TE1 ranks.

Oct 12 3:03am ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz caught one of his three targets for six yards in Week 5 versus the New York Giants.

Fantasy Spin: Schultz was quickly entering the low-end TE1 discussion in fantasy circles, but Dak Prescott's season-ending ankle injury figures to bring that to a halt for the most part. Although Andy Dalton is more than serviceable as a starting NFL quarterback, it's unlikely he'll be able to make more than two pass-catchers consistently viable for fantasy. Those two players figure to be Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb most weeks. Consider Schultz a TE2 with some upside in Week 6 versus the Arizona Cardinals.

From TheHuddle

Oct 11 9:10pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz caught only one of his three targets in a Week 5 win over the New York Giants. Schultz will likely see his upside take a hit with Dak Prescott (ankle) looking like he'll miss the rest of the season. Andy Dalton should be able to do a respectable enough job to keep Schultz in the TE2 conversation, but his upside as a TE1 will certainly be diminished.

Oct 7 8:40pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz (thigh) is expected to play in Week 5 against the New York Giants. Schultz was hurt near the end of the game in Week 4, suffering a bruised thigh, but he's reportedly been fine in practice and isn't in danger of missing Sunday's game. Schultz remains a low-end TE1 option in most formats. Before getting hurt in Week 4, he caught four passes for 72 yards and a touchdown. With the Cowboys throwing a ton every game, Schultz has developed a solid floor to go with an occasionally high ceiling. The Giants have been decent at defending opposing tight ends, but nothing about their defense says they should be a matchup to avoid.

Oct 6 12:00pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz (thigh) suffered a bruised thigh late in the Week 4 loss to the Browns, but the expectation is that he'll be able to play in Week 5 against the Giants. Schultz has stepped up with Blake Jarwin out for the season with an injury, and he's become a legitimate low-end TE1 for fantasy managers in Dallas' high-scoring offense. The Stanford product caught four of his eight targets last Sunday for 72 yards and a touchdowns against Cleveland. Over the last three contests, Schultz has been targeted 24 times, catching 17 passes and scoring twice. New York has been a bit stingy to the position so far this year, but Schultz remains an attractive option as long as this offense keeps humming.

From RotoBaller

Oct 4 6:33pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz registered four catches for 72 yards and a touchdown on eight targets in Week 4 against the Cleveland Browns.

Fantasy Spin: Schultz has at least four grabs in each of the past three games, and he has scored twice during the span. He has actually posted low-end TE1 numbers in fantasy leagues of 12 or more teams during the previous three games. If you need help at the position he is worth a look in Week 5 against the New York Giants.

From TheHuddle

Oct 4 5:00pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz scored a touchdown in a Week 4 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Schultz was targeted eight times, catching four passes for 72 yards and a score. His eight targets tied him for second on the team, as he continues to be a key part of the Cowboys passing game. Schultz's touchdown was on a 26-yard pass in the fourth quarter. He'll remain a solid TE1 option with upside since the Cowboys Defense will seemingly force the offense to throw the ball a bunch every week.

From RotoBaller

Sep 30 1:50pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz is a solid high-floor Week 4 fantasy option. Schultz exploded in Week 2 but settled into a more realistic and expected role in Week 3, catching four passes for 48 yards. He's part of the powerful Cowboys passing game and could find the end zone on any red zone play, but he's more of a solid high-floor tight end play than a huge ceiling play. Week 2 will almost certainly be his best performance of the season.

From RotoBaller

Sep 28 3:33am ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz caught four passes for 48 yards against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 3.

Fantasy Spin: Schultz has stepped up nicely since the injury to Blake Jarwin and is worth considering for a roster spot in larger leagues.

From TheHuddle

Sep 27 10:00pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz made four catches in Week 3, gaining 48 yards. He was targeted six times and was still pretty well-involved in the passing game. He took a clear step back from being the featured receiver in Week 2, but he maintained enough playing time and passing routes to remain a relevant fantasy tight end, especially in deeper leagues. He should settle into a fantasy role much like traditional Cowboys tight ends: solid, with a high floor, but not much of a ceiling.

From RotoBaller

Sep 23 5:20pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz is suddenly a viable fantasy starting tight end in 12-team leagues. Schultz led the Cowboys in targets in Week 2 with 10, catching nine passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. With that kind of usage and with another potentially high-scoring game on tap for Week 3, Schultz could see another TE1 finish. With Blake Jarwin (knee) done for the season, Schultz will remain the top receiving tight end for the high-octane Cowboys offense.

From RotoBaller

Sep 21 1:23am ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz set career highs across the board, catching nine of his 10 targets for 89 yards and a touchdown in Week 2 versus the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Spin: Schultz's best game as a pro prior to this one was three catches for 37 yards as a rookie in December of 2018. This performance has the feel of a being a one-hit wonder, but he has virtually no competition for targets in the same target-heavy role Jason Witten occupied last year and the one Blake Jarwin was supposed to have before tearing his ACL last week. Schultz may be worth picking up in deeper leagues, but he will not be a recommended fantasy start in Week 3 against the Seattle Seahawks.

From TheHuddle

Sep 20 6:50pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz led the team in targets with 10 in a Week 2 win over the Atlanta Falcons. He caught nine of those passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. After starting tight end Blake Jarwin went down with a knee injury in Week 1, it was assumed the Cowboys would mostly go away from involving the tight end in the passing game, but Schultz had other ideas. His score came on a 10-yard pass from quarterback Dak Prescott in the fourth quarter, helping the Cowboys to their impressive 40-39 comeback win. If Schultz continues to see this kind of involvement in the offense, he could be the least expected TE1 in many years.

From RotoBaller

Sep 16 4:40pm ET

Dallas Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz is suddenly a starter after Blake Jarwin (knee) went down early in Week 1. Much more of a blocking type of tight end, Schultz still saw four targets in Week 1, catching one of them for 11 yards. With a week to practice as the starter, Schultz should be a little more involved in the passing game in Week 2. Despite a good matchup in a game that could be the highest scoring of the week, Schultz is nothing more than a touchdown-dependent dart throw in Week 2. Players in deep tight end bonus leagues may want to add him to their bench to see what happens, but he's not a recommended starter at this point.

From RotoBaller

Aug 30 8:13pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz logged 117 offensive snaps in 2019, but he could triple that figure in 2020 after seemingly finding his footing over the last week of camp, according to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News.

From TheHuddle

Jun 21 2:23pm ET

Dallas Cowboys TEs Blake Bell and Dalton Schultz will compete for the No. 2 tight end job during training camp.
