The Tampa Bay Buccaneers designated running back Kenjon Barner (groin) for return from Injured Reserve on Tuesday, allowing him to resume practicing with the team. The team also placed linebacker Jack Cichy (arm) on Injured Reserve after he broke his arm in the Divisional Round against the Saints and signed linebacker Deone Bucannon from the practice squad to the active roster in a corresponding move. Barner will be allowed to practice with the team this week, but it doesn't mean he'll come off IR and join the active roster for the NFC Championship against the Packers on Sunday. Barner, a sixth-round pick of the Panthers in 2013, was active for six games this season but didn't receive a single carry and was targeted once in the passing game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers kick/punt returner Jaydon Mickens had been placed on waivers Monday, but just a day later, he rejoined the team's practice squad after not being claimed. Mickens has combined for 388 yards on 27 returns this year, although his role on special teams appears to have been ceded to Kenjon Barner. With a surplus of options at wide receiver, Mickens has made just seven catches for 58 yards this season, making him more integral to the Buccaneers Defense/special teams unit than as an individual asset. Irrespective of who returns kicks, Tampa Bay has emerged as a premier D/ST due to the stingy nature of its defense, particularly against the run. At this stage, Mickens will first have to earn his way back onto the active roster before meriting fantasy relevance.
