Colorado Rockies third baseman Kyle Karros was placed on the 7-day concussion injured list Sunday for the second time this month.
In corresponding moves, the Rockies recalled infielder/outfielder Ryan Ritter from Triple-A Albuquerque, while infielder/outfielder Tyler Freeman was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A.
Karros, 24, was reinstated from the concussion IL on Friday but was removed from Saturday's game against the Cleveland Guardians with continued concussion symptoms.
Karros originally was injured in an Aug. 11 game against the Arizona Diamondbacks when he collided with shortstop Ezequiel Tovar while fielding a ground ball.
Karros is batting .263 with 10 home runs and 44 RBIs in 114 games this season.
Ritter, 25, made his major league debut last season along with Karros, and is batting .143 in six games for the Rockies this season. Freeman, 27, is batting .247 with three home runs and 23 RBIs in 79 games this season.
