So we only have three more weeks of byes to get through. Thank the lord, right? All these byes in recent weeks and the injuries on top of it make things tough for fantasy owners. And we have some more injuries to deal with this week. Some more players went down. Hopefully, things aren’t too tough on you this week. Here is the latest. . . .
Joe Flacco, QB, Bengals. Flacco hurt his shoulder late in the game last week but did return to finish the game. The Bengals are calling him questionable to play this week. We should know more later in the week but get other options ready to be safe. We think he returns to play Week 9 but nothing is 100 percent certain at this point.
Kyler Murray, QB, Cardinals. Murray is trending towards being ready for the Week 9 game. He has missed the last two games because of a foot sprain. As long as he doesn’t have a setback in practice this week, look for Murray to return to the starting lineup.
Michael Penix, QB, Falcons. Penix was held out of last week’s game because of a bone bruise in his knee. The Falcons are still calling him day to day, but he is trending the right way. He should be healthy enough to play this week, barring a setback with the injury.
Drake London, WR, Falcons. London was unable to play last week because of a hip injury. He remains out of practice to start the week and is looking iffy to play once again. He will need to ramp up the work in practice if he hopes to play Week 9.
Calvin Ridley, WR, Titans. Ridley remains out of practice because of a hamstring injury. We don’t expect a return to the lineup this week. At this point, we are unsure when Ridley will be healthy enough to play again.
Isiah Pacheco, RB, Chiefs. Pacheco sprained his knee late in last week’s game. He is out of practice Wednesday, which is not a good start to his week. The Chiefs are calling him week to week, so there seems a good chance he has to sit out this week. Kareem Hunt and rookie Brashard Smith should get most of the work at running back in Week 9.
Bryce Young, QB, Panthers. Young was held out last week because of an ankle sprain. He is already practicing in full to begin his week. Young is right on track to return to action this week, giving the Panthers offense a much-needed spark after struggling last week.
Nico Collins. WR. Texans. Collins was held out last week because of a concussion. He returned to practice to start the week and will need to clear the concussion protocol before the week is out. Collins seems right on track to do that. Expect him to play Week 9.
Christian Kirk, WR, Texans. Kirk is finally practicing this week after being out since Week 5 because of a hamstring injury. He still isn’t a sure thing to play but off to a good start for the week. But with the Texans other options at receiver starting to play well, you have to wonder how much Kirk is used if he is able to play Week 9. He will be a risk to use for fantasy owners.
Brock Bowers, TE, Raiders. Bowers is practicing in full to start the week. His knee injury seems to be doing much better. The bye week was likely a big plus for Bowers to get healthy. Expect him to play Week 9 and have a big role like always.
Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, Patriots. Stevenson was not seen on the practice field on Wednesday. He has a toe injury that he is currently dealing with, which held him out of last week’s game much of the fourth quarter. We aren’t sure the severity of the injury just yet, but it is serious enough for him to miss at least a practice, which is a concern. Keep an eye on the notes for the latest, but we would get other options ready for your fantasy lineup.
Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens. Jackson is practicing in full this week. He seemed close to playing last week but was held out once again because of a hamstring injury. Jackson is not even listed on the Injury Report this week. He will be just fine for the Thursday game.
Terry McLaurin. WR, Commanders. McLaurin finally returned to the lineup last week only to re-aggravate his quad injury. He left the game and has already been ruled out for the Week 9 game. This setback could keep him out a few more games.
Jayden Daniels, QB, Commanders. Daniels is set to return to action this week from his hamstring injury. He is practicing in full and looks to be good to go for the Week 9 game.
Puka Nacua, WR, Rams. Nacua returned to a limited practice to begin the week. This is a positive development for Nacua, who is trying to return from an ankle injury. He is trending the right way and could be ready for the Week 9 game. We should get a better idea of his status before the week is out.
Brock Purdy, QB, 49ers. Purdy was limited in practice Wednesday. He is trying to return from a toe injury and has been limited the last several weeks. He is inching closer to a return but looks to be questionable to play once again this week. Mac Jones gets another start if Purdy isn’t able to play.
Ricky Pearsall, WR, 49ers. Pearsall hasn’t played since getting hurt in Week 4. His knee sprain continues to sideline him. Pearsall still is not practicing. We expect him to miss another week of action.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Cooper Kupp (hamstring, heel) was listed with just a heel injury on Wednesday and was a full practice participant before being downgraded to limited on Thursday, with the Seahawks adding a hamstring injury, according to Brady Henderson of ESPN. Kupp's availability for Sunday night's contest against the Washington Commanders is now in question, and he might need to return to a full practice on Friday to avoid taking a questionable designation into the weekend. If the 32-year-old veteran is out or limited at all on Sunday Night Football, rookie Tory Horton would see an uptick in playing time as Seattle's WR2 behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Although Kupp did score on Oct. 12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars -- it was his first score of the year -- he's gone over 50 receiving yards twice in his seven games in his first year in Seattle.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport lists Tennessee Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley (hamstring) as a potential trade candidate ahead of next Tuesday's deadline. The Titans are clearly rebuilding for the future and are already getting long looks at rookie receivers Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike in 2025, with Ridley missing the last two games due to a hamstring injury. Ridley has yet to practice this week, too, so he's likely to miss a third straight game this weekend against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 9. However, as long as the veteran pass-catcher's hamstring issue isn't a long-term one, WR-needy contenders could be willing to trade for him as they look to make a run in the second half of the season. At this point, a trade out of Tennessee might be the only thing to save Ridley's fantasy value the rest of the year. The former first-rounder has yet to score a touchdown and has only 16 catches for 290 yards through eight weeks.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson (hamstring) is officially active and is "fully healthy" with "no limitations" for Thursday night's game against the hosting Miami Dolphins in Week 9, according to Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network. Jackson led the NFL with 10 passing touchdowns, 11 total TDs, and a 130.5 passer rating before injuring his hamstring in the Week 4 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Now that he's back after a three-game absence, the Ravens are hoping that he can start saving their season, starting on Thursday Night Football. With no limitations and a soft matchup against Miami's defense, the two-time MVP is a must-start in fantasy lineups in his first game back. According to Wolfe, the vibes around this Ravens team this week have been "Lamarvelous" with their star QB back in the fold.

The Las Vegas Raiders have yet to find a trade partner for wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, but NFL Network's Mike Garafolo said that he "wouldn't give up hope on this one just yet." The deadline for the Raiders to trade Meyers is next Tuesday, so they still have a bit of time to work something out with a contending NFL team looking to bolster their receiving corps. The Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, and Pittsburgh Steelers have been the teams most connected to the WR market in recent weeks. Meyers, who is having a disappointing 2025 campaign while working with quarterback Geno Smith, requested a trade early in the season and said recently that he's still open to being dealt. Vegas' recent acquisition of veteran Tyler Lockett gives them extra depth if they end up trading Meyers out of town, although Lockett still probably wouldn't have much fantasy appeal in that scenario.

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (ankle) was upgraded to a full practice participant in Thursday's session, according to Adam Grosbard of the Los Angeles Daily News. Nacua was limited due to his ankle injury in Wednesday's practice, but his return to a full session on Thursday pretty much ensures that the Rams plan on him playing in Week 9 versus the visiting New Orleans Saints on Sunday at SoFi Stadium. The 24-year-old pass-catcher suffered an ankle injury in Week 6 and did not play in the Week 7 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in London as a result. Nacua had last week's bye to rest up, and now it appears he's ready to return as the Rams' unquestioned WR1. He has been heavily targeted by quarterback Matthew Stafford again in 2025 and has been a top-five receiver in fantasy scoring despite missing a game due to injury. Get him back into your lineups this weekend.

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs (calf) continues to deal with a calf injury and was limited again during Thursday's practice, according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic. Jacobs has played through a calf injury each of the last two weeks, although he's had his two lowest snap rates in those games at just over 50%. The 27-year-old had only 33 rushing yards on 13 carries in the Sunday night win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he also found the end zone on the ground for the fourth straight week. While Jacobs hasn't gone over 100 yards in a game yet in 2025, he's been money for fantasy managers with nine rushing touchdowns in seven games played. The only game in which he didn't find the end zone was on Sept. 21 in the upset loss to the Cleveland Browns. Jacobs should be active this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, where he'll be a touchdown-dependent midrange RB1 in fantasy.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) remained a limited participant in practice on Thursday, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN. Purdy has been slowly improving from a turf-toe injury that he aggravated in Week 4, but he has yet to upgrade to a full participant in practice, and until he does so, he probably won't be cleared to play this Sunday on the road against the New York Giants in Week 9. The Niners could be targeting a big Week 10 divisional tilt next Sunday, Nov. 9, against the Los Angeles Rams for Purdy to return. The 25-year-old signal-caller has now had eight straight limited practices. Fantasy managers should not plan on having Purdy this weekend, as it looks like another week of backup Mac Jones running the offense. Purdy has been a massive fantasy disappointment so far in 2025, playing in only two games due to his turf-toe injury.

Jacksonville Jaguars rookie two-way star Travis Hunter (knee) was added to the Week 9 injury report on Thursday and was limited in practice with a knee issue after he put in a full practice on Wednesday, according to J.P. Shadrick. It's not clear if Hunter was injured in Thursday's practice or if the Jaguars were giving him a little rest coming out of their bye week, but either way, fantasy managers will be watching closely when Jacksonville releases its final injury report on Friday. As of now, the Heisman Trophy winner should be considered questionable to play this Sunday for a Week 9 meeting with the Las Vegas Raiders on the road. Head coach Liam Coen has hinted that Hunter will become a bigger part of the passing attack in the second half of the season, potentially elevating him to the WR1 role over Brian Thomas Jr. However, this knee injury could halt those plans, at least temporarily.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans rookie running back Woody Marks (calf) popped up on the Week 9 injury report on Thursday and was listed as a limited practice participant. Mid-week additions to the injury report are usually not a good sign, but we should have a better idea of Marks' status for Week 9 against the Denver Broncos on Sunday after the Texans release their final injury report for the week on Friday. The 24-year-old has become a bigger part of the team's offense in recent weeks, especially in the passing game, making him an RB3/flex consideration in PPR formats. However, he's now looking questionable to play this weekend after popping up on the injury report with his calf injury. If Marks cannot play on Sunday, or if he's limited, it would mean more work for veteran Nick Chubb out of the backfield. Dare Ogunbowale would be in line for RB2 duties as well.
From RotoBaller
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey (calf) continued to be limited in practice on Thursday due to a calf injury. McConkey has put in two limited practices this week as the team prepares for a Week 9 road matchup on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. The second-year pass-catcher could be removed from the weekly injury report if he practices in full on Friday, and as of now, he should be considered to be on the right side of questionable to play this weekend. The 23-year-old has picked things up of late after a slow start in 2025, and he has found the end zone in three of his last four games, suddenly leapfrogging Quentin Johnston as quarterback Justin Herbert's go-to passing target. The Chargers may not need to throw much this Sunday in Tennessee, but if he's active, McConkey needs to be in all starting fantasy football lineups, given how strong he's been recently.
From RotoBaller
Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion) is missing his second straight day of practice this week on Thursday due to a concussion that he suffered in the Week 8 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, according to Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports. Mims still has one more day to try and get back on the practice field, but as of now, things aren't looking good for him getting cleared to play this Sunday in Houston against the Texans. The 23-year-old continues to be a boom-or-bust WR4/flex option in deeper fantasy leagues in Denver's offense in 2025, having posted only two double-digit-point performances in half-PPR scoring through eight weeks. Mims also has five games where he's recorded under 5.0 half-PPR points. Second-year wideout Troy Franklin has been more consistent than Mims, is coming off a two-touchdown game, and will be the primary beneficiary if Mims is inactive this weekend.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz (knee, shoulder) is missing another practice on Thursday, but head coach DeMeco Ryans said that he "expects him to return later this week," according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 Sports. Schultz has yet to practice this week, but it sounds like the team expects the 29-year-old to return to Friday's practice. That doesn't ensure that he'll be active this Sunday when the team hosts the Denver Broncos in Week 9, but it will at least give him a chance to play this weekend. The good news for Houston is that top receiver Nico Collins (concussion) says he's ready to return after missing the Week 8 win over the San Francisco 49ers due to a concussion, and the Texans could also be getting wideout Christian Kirk (hamstring) back. After a season-best nine-catch, 98-yard performance in Week 7, Schultz came back down to earth last week, catching just two passes for 24 yards. If he's active, Schultz is merely a TE2 option in fantasy against a strong Broncos defense.
From RotoBaller
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) remained out of practice on Thursday, according to Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group. Pearsall hasn't practiced with the team since spraining the PCL in his knee back in Week 4, but he was running routes on a side field, so he's making some progress. Still, the 25-year-old former first-rounder will not be able to return this weekend when the team takes on the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. It's unclear if Pearsall will make enough progress to be an option to make his return for a big Week 10 divisional matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, Nov. 9, but even if he does, he'll likely be on a snap count and would be an extremely risky fantasy play. With Pearsall likely out again in Week 9, Jauan Jennings will continue to operate as the Niners' WR1, with Kendrick Bourne serving as the No. 2.
From RotoBaller
Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins (concussion) has cleared the league's mandatory concussion protocol and said he's "feeling great, ready to play this week" on Sunday for a Week 9 battle against the visiting Denver Broncos, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Sports. Collins suffered a concussion late in the Monday night loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7 and did not suit up for the Week 8 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. He has been back at practice this week, though, and has already cleared the concussion protocol, so fantasy managers should have him back without any restrictions this weekend against a Broncos defense that will be without their top cornerback, Patrick Surtain II (pectoral). Although the matchup still isn't a great one -- Denver's vaunted pass rush could make things difficult for Houston's offensive line -- Collins should be reinserted into all starting fantasy lineups.
From RotoBaller
Tennessee Titans running back Tony Pollard's (neck) Week 9 status was in question when he missed the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday due to a neck injury. However, he's back on the right track to play this Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers after he returned to a full practice on Thursday. As long as the 28-year-old doesn't suffer a setback with his neck injury on Friday, he should be fine to play this weekend. The Chargers' defense has been much more susceptible to the run game in recent weeks, but Pollard won't be much more than a low-upside RB3/flex in Week 9 for fantasy purposes with backfield mate Tyjae Spears starting to see more involvement in what is becoming more of a timeshare in Tennessee. Pollard has surpassed double-digit half-PPR points just twice in eight games in 2025 and has only two touchdowns in one of the worst offenses in football.
From RotoBaller
Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. (knee) was listed as a limited practice participant for the second straight day on Thursday as he battles a bone bruise in his knee. Penix Jr. was sidelined in Week 8 due to the injury. However, Falcons head coach Raheem Morris expressed confidence earlier this week that his starting quarterback would return in Week 9 against the New England Patriots. If that proves not to be the case, Atlanta would likely turn to veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins, who struggled in the team's Week 8 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Across six games played so far this season, Penix Jr. has completed 61% of his pass attempts for 1,409 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions. He profiles as a low-end fantasy QB2 if active in Week 9 against New England.
From RotoBaller
Pittsburgh Steelers TE Jonnu Smith (non-injury) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 30.
Fantasy Spin: Smith has not caught more than three passes in any of his last five games and has posted at least 25 yards in only one of those games. He will see a few targets this week but can be avoided in all leagues.
From TheHuddle
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London (hip) logged his second straight limited practice on Thursday due to a hip injury. London was a late addition to the injury report before Atlanta's Week 8 matchup against the Miami Dolphins and ended up missing the game. It's a good sign that he's been able to practice in a limited capacity so far this week, but London's status remains up in the air heading into Atlanta's Week 9 matchup against the New England Patriots. Across six games played so far this season, the 24-year-old has recorded 38 catches for 469 yards and two touchdowns on 63 targets. If London misses a second straight game, Falcons wideout Darnell Mooney (hamstring) and tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. (ankle) would be the most likely target beneficiaries, although both are battling injuries of their own. If London is active, he profiles as a must-start wide receiver in Week 9 against New England.
From RotoBaller
Cincinnati Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson (hip), OG Dalton Risner (illness), LB Logan Wilson (calf) and CB Marco Wilson (hamstring) did not participate in practice Thursday, Oct. 30. QB Joe Flacco (shoulder) and DT B.J. Hill (non-injury) were limited during practice. OG Dylan Fairchild (knee), DE Cedric Johnson (calf) and DE Cameron Sample (knee) fully participated in practice.
From TheHuddle
Los Angeles Chargers running back Hassan Haskins (hamstring) remained out of practice on Thursday due to a hamstring injury, per ESPN's Kris Rhim. Haskins missed his team's Week 8 contest, and he could be tracking towards a second consecutive absence in Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans. Haskins being sidelined would likely mean another sizable workload for Chargers running back Kimani Vidal. Without Haskins in the lineup in Week 8, Vidal recorded 127 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 24 touches against the Minnesota Vikings. If Haskins remains out in Week 9, Jaret Patterson would likely be elevated from the practice squad to serve as the Chargers' RB2 behind Vidal.
