The biggest surprise of the NFL season through five weeks has been the Baltimore Ravens.
After entering the season tied for the best odds to win Super Bowl LX (+700), the Ravens fell to 1-4 -- tied for the worst start to a season in franchise history -- with Sunday's 44-10 loss to Houston, tied for the most lopsided home defeat in franchise history.
The Ravens, down starting cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Chidobe Awuzie, starting safety Kyle Hamilton and starting linebacker Roquan Smith against the Texans, are last in the league in scoring defense (35.4 points per game) and second to last in total defense (406.8 yards allowed per game).
Baltimore is on pace to allow 602 points, which would be the most in NFL history. The current record is 534, set by the Carolina Panthers last season.
Asked if he's considering moving on from defensive coordinator Zachary Orr or any other coaches on that side of the ball, head coach John Harbaugh denied that being what is required to fix the issues.
"You try to do the most productive things and I do not think that is the answer," Harbaugh said Sunday. "We've got to go to work is what we need to do. We need to stick together, is what we need to do. We need to find ourselves. That has to do with coaches and players together."
While the defensive injuries or the absence of star quarterback Lamar Jackson could have been used as an excuse for Sunday's loss, Harbaugh was adamant the defensive players the Ravens had available didn't play up to expectations.
"I don't think we played well. I thought we would play better," Harbaugh said. "I thought we would tackle better. I thought we would play our run defense better than we did. It was not up to standard. We have good enough players out there to play a lot better than we did. It's just disappointing."
The Ravens are tied with Cleveland for last in the AFC North, 2 1/2 games behind Pittsburgh (3-1). Baltimore stays at home to face the Los Angeles Rams (3-2) on Sunday before a Week 7 bye.
Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams continues to play a marginal role in his team's offense. In Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Williams recorded just one catch on one target for nine yards. The 24-year-old simply has not been much of a factor in Detroit this season, as he's logged 11 catches for 223 yards and one touchdown through five games on 21 targets. Williams remains a big-play threat, leading the NFL by averaging 20.3 yards per reception. His playing time is also stable, as he's played at least 82% of the Lions' offensive snaps in all five games. Still, his low target volume and downfield usage make Williams a boom/bust flex option at best. Heading into a Week 6 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, fantasy managers should likely be searching for ways to keep Williams out of their starting lineup.

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown recorded eight catches for 100 yards on nine targets in his team's 37-24 Week 5 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. St. Brown was held out of the end zone in Week 5 for the first time since Week 1, but he's now recorded at least seven receptions and 70 receiving yards in four straight games. All told, the 25-year-old has recorded 35 catches for 407 yards and six touchdowns on 41 targets through his first five games of 2025. St. Brown will have a more challenging matchup in Week 6, as the Lions will travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs. Still, he's a must-start fantasy wide receiver, regardless of matchup.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy (ankle, shoulder) is officially active, as expected, for the Monday night game against the Jacksonville Jaguars to close out Week 5 action, according to Matt McMullen of Chiefs.com. Worthy dislocated his right shoulder on the first offensive drive of 2025 in Week 1 and then missed Weeks 2 and 3. The speedy 22-year-old returned in last week's win over the Baltimore Ravens, but he was added to Saturday's injury report due to swelling in his ankle. The issue isn't serious for Worthy, though, and he'll be available as one of the team's top offensive weapons against the 3-1 Jags. Worthy caught five of his eight targets for 83 yards in Week 4 and added two carries for 38 yards while playing 59% of the snaps. He could be even more involved on Monday night in his second game back from his shoulder injury.

Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan said that the team has to "keep finding ways to use" wide receiver Calvin Ridley's skill set, according to Jim Wyatt of TennesseeTitans.com. "He played well for us down the stretch on Sunday, and we're going to need that to continue ... We protected well, too, which helped," Callahan added. After a quiet start to the season through four weeks that saw Ridley go over 50 yards just once in a single game with no touchdowns, he broke out in Sunday's upset win over the Arizona Cardinals for a 5-131-0 line on a season-high 10 targets. The 30-year-old still hasn't scored in 2025, but his Week 5 performance was a breath of fresh air for his fantasy managers. Hopefully, his down-the-field chemistry with rookie quarterback Cameron Ward continues to improve, but even if it does, there are going to be more frustrating outings. He'll have a good matchup to keep things going in a Week 6 contest against the one-win Las Vegas Raiders.

Dynasty | Commanders running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt had 111 rushing yards, two catches, 39 receiving yards and two touchdowns in a win against the Chargers. Dynasty Analysis: It wasn't all rainbows and unicorns for "Bill," who also lost a fumble in the game. Still, this was the performance dynasty managers had been waiting for as he dominated the backfield and took control of what had been a frustrating committee. If this is the start of things to come, his ADP and rookie ranking are both going to make a serious uptick. It seems any chance to buy may have passed this week.
Dynasty | Bengals quarterback Jake Browning completed 26-of-40 passes for 251 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions in a loss to the Lions. Dynasty Analysis: At first glance, that line really isn't awful. However, the Bengals were down 28-3 with Browning having thrown all three of his interceptions before he had his first scoring strike in a game that had been pretty much decided. Browning now has six touchdowns and eight interceptions on the season and hasn't provided any kind of spark as the Bengals have lost their last three games by a combined score of 113-37. In short, this is a team that needs to either make a change quickly or risk their entire season evaporating before Halloween. Browning himself has lost any dynasty value he once had.
Dynasty | Bengals running back Chase Brown had 27 rushing yards, seven catches and 21 receiving yards in a loss to Detroit. Dynasty Analysis: Brown, one of dynasty fantasy football's most coveted running backs in the preseason, now has a total of 160 rushing yards (2.5 yards per carry), 18 catches, 95 receiving yards and one total touchdown on the season. Ouch. At this point, he's completely unplayable as the Bengals look like a team punting on their season. His dynasty value is cratering by the week and the problem dynasty managers have is the fact he's essentially lost virtually all his trade value.
Dynasty | Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson had 24 rushing yards, two catches, and three receiving yards in a win against Buffalo. Dynasty Analysis: It's one thing to be ineffective as a high profile rookie but another one to simply not get the chances to even be successful. Henderson has just 32 carries and 15 catches through five games while watching Rhamondre Stevenson lose fumbles seemingly every week. With Antonio Gibson now out for the season with a torn ACL, perhaps this is the time we see something change within the offense. However, Henderson is completely off the radar at the moment as a player who just isn't getting chances. We'd say "buy low," but there just haven't been indications this is the floor, either.
Dynasty | Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs had ten catches for 146 yards in a win over the Bills. Dynasty Analysis: #revenge. Diggs posted his second straight 100-yard effort and now has 29 catches for 359 yards on the season. His 29 catches are tied for tenth in the league and his yardage total is good for 12th. While the lack of touchdowns is concerning, it seems he's now fully recovered from his ACL tear and may very well be back in the every week discussion in terms of lineup consideration. While no longer the WR1 lock he once was, Diggs is one more big week away from being a "set and forget it" option yet again. He looks like a possible low-cost target for contending dynasty teams moving forward.
Dynasty | Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid had six catches for 108 yards in a loss to the Patriots. Dynasty Analysis: Kincaid has been solid yet again for the Bills this year and seems to be coming on pretty strong at the moment. While he has yet to truly fulfill the promise he once had as a truly elite TE1, you could do worse each week in your lineup. While other tight ends may offer higher ceilings, Kincaid's dynasty value is rising based on his weekly floor that seems to be about as consistent as you can get.
Dynasty | Patriots running back Antonio Gibson will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL. Dynasty Analysis: It's a tough break for Gibson, who was quickly carving out a role in what was a terrific committee in reality and terrible one in fantasy as Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson are still in the mix. Gibson's injury is going to make him a really tough hold in dynasty leagues, despite him being productive when healthy. In essence, he's a bit of a roster clogger.
Dynasty | The Chargers will place running back Omarion Hampton on IR with an ankle injury. Dynasty Analysis: The hits keep coming for the Chargers as they had already lost Najee Harris for the season. It's quite likely Hampton has a high ankle sprain and that would keep him out 4-6 weeks. He's designated to return but is going to miss a month here. His absence is going to halt his ADP rise and could open the door for players like Tetairoa McMillan, Quinshon Judkins or even a fast-rising Jacory Croskey-Merritt to pass him in our rookie rankings should they keep coming on strong over the next month. Regardless, this is just a short-term ailment for Hampton and while it could make some question his ability to shoulder an entire load, it's also going to possibly open up a quick buy window as his value should stay relatively stable.
According to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs) was suited up for Monday's practice and had his helmet in his hand for the five minutes that were open to the media. The 49ers didn't have an official practice on Monday, but it's a good sign to see Jennings back on the field early in the week after he was inactive in last Thursday night's win over the Los Angeles Rams. Fellow wideout Ricky Pearsall (knee) also missed Week 5, allowing Kendrick Bourne to catch 10 passes and go over 100 receiving yards in the upset win on the road. The 28-year-old Jennings has already missed two games in 2025 and has essentially been banged up since organized team activities back in the spring. It remains to be seen if he'll be able to play in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but if he does, he'll be a pretty shaky WR4/flex for fantasy managers, especially if quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) misses another game.

If it wasn't already clear that Dallas Cowboys running back Javonte Williams is the team's lead back after his big game in the Week 5 win over the New York Jets on Sunday, head coach Brian Schottenheimer reiterated it on Monday when he said, "Javonte's the bell-cow. He's earned that." Williams dominated the Jets in the 37-22 victory, carrying the rock 16 times for 135 yards and a touchdown while adding a touchdown reception. It was the 25-year-old's first 100-yard rushing performance since his rookie season in 2021 with the Denver Broncos. It helped that backup Miles Sanders (ankle, knee) was inactive on Sunday, but even so, Williams is Dallas' clear lead back going forward. He appears to be fully healthy and is making the Cowboys' one-year deal look pretty darn good right now. Williams has cemented himself into must-start status in fantasy with 525 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns through five games, and he could have a second straight big performance in Week 6 in a matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said the team is "optimistic" about getting wide receiver Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) back for their Week 6 tilt against the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. Fantasy managers have to be happy with this news, but they shouldn't get their hopes up that Scary Terry will be back this week after missing the last two games with a pretty serious quad injury that led him to seek multiple medical opinions. Quinn said the team will know more later in the week about McLaurin's status for next Monday night. The Commanders will officially resume practicing on Thursday, so fantasy managers will want to check back then to see if he's back on the practice field. When McLaurin returns, he and Deebo Samuel Sr. should dominate pass-game targets from quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Troy Franklin falls to the third option for Broncos quarterback Bo Nix while facing the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5. He caught three of five targets for 35 yards in Sunday's 21-17 win over the Eagles. Courtland Sutton and Evan Engram were first and second on the team with 10 and six targets. While Franklin has seemed to be on the field the second most out of any of the receiving group, the 22-year-old has been underwhelming for fantasy lineups since his explosive outing in Week 2. With Broncos head coach Sean Payton preferring taller wide receivers, this could be one of the primary reasons Franklin has been on the field more than anyone else. Still, he will need to capitalize on his opportunities more frequently before he can be trusted in fantasy lineups. Franklin is a boom or bust FLEX option in a plus matchup against the New York Jets in Week 6.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton had an impressive outing in the win versus the Eagles on Sunday. While leading the team in targets, catches, and receiving yards, Sutton showed some dominant contested catches to help out the offense. Outside of his week 2 dud, Sutton has posted fringe WR1 numbers in every other week. The developments of the rest of the receiver room should only help Sutton elevate his game as teams are forced to pay attention to more than one receiver. Broncos quarterback Bo Nix and head coach Sean Payton clearly trust Sutton the most in crucial moments, which should secure Sutton as a high-upside WR2 going forward.
From RotoBaller
Denver Broncos running back J.K. Dobbins had another solid outing in Week 5 while earning a win versus the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles. With his largest workload of the season, he would lead the team in rushing yards and touches with 79 yards on 20 rush attempts. His lone touchdown was a two-yard rush to bring the game back within contention in the fourth quarter. Seeing RJ Harvey take a backseat with 12 yards on four rushes was encouraging for confidence in Dobbins' volume moving forward. Clearly, the Broncos' backfield is Dobbins' to lose. Continue trusting him as a high-upside RB2 until otherwise noted, and he is a must-start against a reeling Jets defense in Week 6.

The Philadelphia Eagles listed running back Saquon Barkley (knee) as a non-participant on their estimated injury report on Monday due to a knee injury, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. NFL insider Ian Rapoport is reporting that Barkley had general soreness in his knee coming out of Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos, but he fully expects to play on Thursday night against his former team, the New York Giants. It explains why Barkley's volume was so low in Week 5 -- he had a season-low six carries for 30 yards and caught all three of his targets for 58 yards and a touchdown. Last year's rushing leader remains a must-start in fantasy when he's active, but there's certainly the potential for him to see a smaller workload again on a short week against the Giants. The good news is that Barkley averaged 5.0 yards per carry on Sunday after being under 3.0 yards a carry in the previous two games.

After an explosive start to the 2025 season, Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Quentin Johnston regressed in the team's 27-10 loss to the Washington Commanders. He caught all four of his targets for 40 yards but lost a crucial fumble that shifted the momentum of the game in the second quarter. The performance could have been even better, as a holding penalty nullified a 20-yard first-down catch. While Johnston remains heavily involved, issues with the offensive line limited his big-play potential throughout the game. Johnston has the chance to bounce back in Week 6 when the Chargers face a struggling Miami Dolphins defense. That's if Herbert gets enough time to throw deep.
